Not connected via miracast - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers

Hi, anyone experienced an issue when you enable wireless display in MM rom ( CM13 ) ?
I added line into build.prop to activate wifi direct.
So I can find my projector I can click to connect, but it keeps only connecting.
In short - does anyone figure out how to connect via miracast through OS ?
I tried DLNA 3rd party app - but that was veeeeery slow and laggish.
Thanks for your comments.
Cheers John

Haha i thought only me have this problem, yes mine too, in cm 12.1 everything works fine i can cast to my anycast, but when i switch to cm 13, cast is not working anymore, even when i edit build prop to enable wireless display i still can't connect, it just keeps connectiing and disconnecting, very frustrating, i think all cm 13 based rom have the same problem with wi fi direct(miracast using wi fi direct)

Finally i got miracast working,
Put this line
p2p_no_group_iface=1
In system->etc->wifi->wpa_supplicant_overlay.conf and this file p2p_supplicant_overlay.conf
Also in build.prop add this line
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=60
Save and reboot
Viola miracast should working now

[Q] Bluetooth Tethering support in CM11

All,
I'm running the beta cm11 on my YPG70 (US) so far this has been fantastic.
I have one feature not working that it seems has also been an issue for others.... Bluetooth tethering does not work.
I am able to get the device to connect to my main phone (a Moto X) with bluetooth tethering enabled on both AND it seems like the devices are able to change data across bluetooth, however, now Internet or WAN traffic gets to the YPG70.
I know there was a bug fix in an older version of Cyanogenmod to some networking routing table config files (I belive) so maybe this is related to that cropping up again.
I also found a post to check for /system/bin/pand which DOES NOT exist on this build from Jan 13.
Any ideas?

Enable 5Ghz wifi channel.(Experimental)

Enable 5Ghz wifi channel
Some users reported 5Ghz channel not working on some base, here small tool to enable 5ghz wifi channel. Some users reported working for them so sharing it here.
Limitation : Fix requires to apply on every boot, though you need to apply once only then after as far as application remain installed it will auto fix on every boot.
Requirement :
-Rooted Note4 (It may work on other device too)
-You should know why you need this tool
Install : Download and install attached apk - Open app - Apply Fix - Grant SU
Now check 5Ghz channel gets scan without reboot.
To remove Fix : Simply uninstall application and reboot.
I have two Note 4's (910K and 910G) both are running 5Ghz, I have the router's 2.4Ghz MAC filtered so they can only run on 5. The N910G is running 4.4.4, the N910K on 5.0.1.
Woowww!!! My browser is pretty fast now..Thanks Ketan.
Hi, my phone and everything else worked fine on my home wifi a couple of weeks ago, I got back home from a 10 day trip to Sydney yesterday, tried to watch a movie on Netflix on my chromecast to find that my phone was incredibly slow and the movie would never finish loading, tried my friends phone, same problem, eventually I worked out that her phone and my chromecast and everything else work fine as long as my phone is not connected, as soon as I connect my note 4 to the wifi, the whole lot slows to a crawl, I applied this fix and the problem seems to have gone away, can you explain what's going on here? And is there a permanent fix? It's strange because I got 5.1 on my phone weeks ago and never had a problem. Any ideas?
How to check on my note 4 if 5ghz channel works?
*I have router 2.4ghz

Are there any ROMs with wi-fi calling?

Hey guys,
Currently running Lineage 14.1 and trying to enable Wifi calling. I've searched a lot and I can't find any Redmi Note 3 roms that specifically state that wi-fi calling works.
I have enabled it in my build.prop and it shows up under "Wireless and Networks" (it doesn't appear in search though).
Also dialling *#*#4636#*#* now allows me to toggle wi-fi calling. When I go IMS Status it shows that VoLTE is active, but never wi-fi calls.
I'm on Three UK and wi-fi calling should work (with a Three branded phone).. But I hope I can get it to work on my RN3!
Anyone able to help?
Thanks
Try pure Nexus rom it states that WiFi calling is working
In nitrogen oreo build it's showing WiFi calling provisioned enable . Try this rom also.
Ps: never used wifi calling option

Sadly no. Pure Nexus doesn't have it. Everywhere you ask, someone will tell you to use your eyes and just search, no ROM has wifi calling working that I have tried.
I've tried updating build props and using Magisk fix and still nothing works.
I'm currently on Resurrection Remix with Radon and just settled on it for battery/stability..
Post if you find a ROM with this feature functioning properly.?

I don't think that will work. When you tether your 4G connection, Chromecast will connect to the Wi-Fi hot-spot that is created by the phone, while your Mate 10 pro is still connected in 4G.
So they are not connected on the same network as it's required for the Chromecast to work.

I have an old Chromecast here, so i will try, but i don't think it will work.
Maybe it would work with this configuration :
1) Mate 10 pro used for tethering, creating a Wi-Fi hot-spot
2) Chromecast connected to the Wi-Fi hot-spot
3) Laptop (or other device) connected to the same Wi-Fi Hot-spot
But honestly, i never tested this kind of configuration.

I think you're right!
I resolved thetering with my pc already.
For info, in advanced wifi settings, channel was on auto.. Didn't work.. I tried on channel 4 and now my pc recognizes my phone.
And for chromecast gonna test your solution. Read same things on web..
Thanks dude

Add WiFi to Android 6.0 Build ?

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can take a look at a keypad (tablet) that runs on Android 6.0. It has no WiFi, just works over POE w\Injector. Wondering if we can WiFi to this Androind build. You can PM me for details.
thanks
Bump.. Anyone interested? The issue is since the tablet is hardwared the apps need WiFi to connect. Not sure why the apps need WiFi, since the tablet is already online, can browse internet, etc. IE; If I launch the Sonos App, it ask me to enable WiFi. It wont connect using the hardware POE connection.
Here is the build info to this device.
http://specdevice.com/showspec.php?id=b4e2-54ec-0033-c5870033c587
@sweethip
PoE is Ethernet and not Wireless ( Wi-Fi ): Your tablet does't support Wi-Fi connection because it hasn't an inbuilt Wi-Fi antenna .
@jwoegerbauer
Thanks for the response.. Yes it does have it built in.. it's just disabled or removed from the latest build.
I am asking to see if someone can take a look and see if they can re-enable it since I am not familiar with android devolpment.
Is that a limit on android apps not working over Ethernet ? Don't get why the apps won't work even though it's connected online.
