I think I'm in deep kimchee! I was attempting to flash CM-13.0 on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 (MT2LO3). Rooted device, installed TWRP Manager, copied zips to root. I think I forgot to unlock the bootloader!
From TWRP selected recover, wipe data and cache. TWRP hangs on "yes I'm sure", or whatever the "go" button says.
Hard reboot, device now comes up with "Recovery image verify failed! Please update to the authorized images. Bootloader Lock State: LOCKED."
Several hard reboots, same thing. What now? Is it now a paper weight?
:crying:
Root on sd card, or root on phone? I think the zips go on the card...

I had root on the phone. Ya, it wasn't clear/sure where to place the files, so placed in both phone & sd card.
Thanks for your response! Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!
Not sure if this helps, but I didn't even get as far as getting twrp in...

Strangely, on TapaTalk this link goes somewhere strange. On my computer, it goes to a different place/the intended link!

So I woke up this morning and I noticed a little blue android man standing next to a caution symbol on my phone screen. I was stock rooted before this happened. I believe the recent update went ahead and updated itself while I was sleeping. Can someone help me get my phone back to stock root? If I press the menu button, it brings me to the Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 screen where I have the options to "reboot system now", "apply sdcard:update.zip"... etc. I'm not really good with Revolutionary so before I do anything I would like the opinions and suggestions of others who are more experienced. Obviously I'd like to avoid a factory reset as much as possible. Thanks!
You have to get the stock ruu 2.11.605.5 and re flash it. It will remove root unfortunately because .9 is not rootable yet.
Flash back to non root stock by putting the ruu i mentioned above on your memory card (not in any folders) and rename it to PG05IMG then power off the phone.
Hold power and volume down for a few seconds and the phone will go to the Hboot screen, it will find the PG file and update itself. Once its all done, reroot with revolutionary and then go into the developement section here and get the rooted version of the 2.11.605.9 ruu file and just flash that in recovery.
You will have to flash the new radios as well. They have to be renamed to the same name I posted above and flashed the same way thru the Hboot screen
So even if I were to back up with My Backup Pro, I wouldn't be able to recover all my data, apk's, photos etc. because I wouldn't be able to root on the latest update, correct?
Try wiping cache and rebooting before you flash an RUU, lose root and your data. If it bootloops or is still otherwise non functioning THEN you will have to RUU it.

Your photo and apps should be backed up on your sd card. your setup will be wiped but all the stuff on the sd card will be fine. Just have to reinstall
as for what the post about wiping and rebooting, that will not help unfortunately because the update deletes root. If you want to get back to root, you have to reinstall.
go here for the exact process http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20446596#post20446596
Thanks guys. I ended up flashing the stock rom on the link below. Apparently that got it working where it wont break your root anymore.

Just place the zip file on your SD card, then go into recovery and find the zip through there. Your new Rom should then begin flashing

Ok I cannot find what I'm looking for so I"ll ask. Also though I have been rooted since it first became available and have flashed a billion ROMS and tweaks forgive me that my knowledge is still not the greatest.
I just noticed that when I hold down the power+vol button to boot into recovery mode (hboot?) that it now gives me an error, it reads like this
parsing...[SD ZIP]
[1] RECOVERY
Do you want to update?
yes
No
I used the Revolutionary method to root and have HBOOT 1.40.1000
I can start my phone normally and even use clockworkmod to boot into it recovery to flash, make backups,ect... but what worries me is if I experience a bootloop or something I won't have CWMR to save me. I tried to download TWRP 2 and reflash the PG86IMG.zip but nothing works. what am I doing wrong?
any suggestions?
Thanks
You probably have a zip that the fastboot is trying to parse and extract to update your phone. Check your files in your SD card.

^ This is the correct answer. Specifically, check for and remove any PG86IMG.zip that might be laying around on your sd card. You should then be able to boot to boot loader and then to recovery normally.
You can keep the recovery.img. (PG86IMG) on your sdcard just not on the root of your sdcard. Move it to another file, delete it, or keep it on the root and rename it so hboot doesn't see it.

Besides restoring backup, looks like your stuck flashing stock rom the rooting and cwm. If your using a rom you can cwm factory restet. Just make sure you do not tibu your systems settings or it will lock it.

Odin something else or use cwm to flash another ROM if you've got that installed.
How do you forget the pin on your own phone? Aren't you constantly locking/unlocking it to read emails/texts?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I didnt actually forget , something weird happened this morning with my pin , i remember i accessed my phone at 8:50 in the morning because my alarm went off at that time . I went ro work and arrived at 9:45. i tried to enter my normal pin 3224 and it was a no go . At first i was stunned i figured my fingers were kins of greasy and my phone was not registering my commands correctly. until i entered it over 75 times and it wouldn't go through . What perplexes me is that to set another pin you have to enter it twice and confirm it . I didnt do anything like that so im really wondering what is going on

I don't think you can flash a tar from recovery, granted I've never tried and an unfamiliar with stock recovery.
What recovery are you on? Is your phone rooted? Do you have clockworkmod recovery installed? If you have cwm, you need a zip flashable ROM from the ROMdev subforum.
If you are all stock, could Odin something onto it probably.
Also did a buddy or SO mess with you and change your PIN?

Exact same thing happened to me. What fixed it for me: Download twrp 2.2.0 from their website. Since adb is acting up, use the pg..zip one that flashes from fastboot. Copy to root of sd card and boot phone into fastboot. The directions are on their website in more detail.

I tried flashing the Mean Bean rom. I'm not a noob when it comes to flashing, but I made a noob mistake. I just got my phone and forgot to image before I wiped and tried flashing. The rom was stuck at "format /system" for 20 minutes. I held down the power button, and now, since I didn't image the stock, I can't start the phone (it gets stuck at the white screen) and now when I try to install the rom again, the zip is missing.
I have no idea what to do next. I am downloading all of the ruu files and I'm going to run each one until one works, but I'm not sure if that's even going to fix the problem.
Any help would be more than appreciated.

Can you expand a little bit? I went into settings and there wasn't anything there to mount. I went into mount and marked "mount SDCard," and I went back to install and nothing popped up. I do have a ROM on my SD card, but its not the same rom. Its a rom I know that works.
EDIT: I noticed it was wanting to use an internal SD card, not an external. Switched it, and bam, works. I'll let you know if it flashes properly. Thank you for the help. This forum is the best, without a doubt. Never lets me down.

Got it to flash properly. Thank you again everyone, especially gmoe65!
Do you have any data you need or can you do full wipe? if that is possible this is a easy way to flash a ruu. 1 download the ruu from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744700&highlight=how+to+root the one that is titled PJ75IMG.zip 2. you will need to put it on your external sd card somehow ( easy way would be taking it out of phone and putting it in a different one then move it using that phone, or mabye using twrp recovery if possible make sure it is the external sd though), make sure you put it on the root of the external sd card. 3. boot into bootloader and the file should be recognized and it will ask you if you want to processed click volume up for yes this will bring you back to stock ics and it will also flash a image to the phone. hope this helps
