Hello,
Whenever I try to transfer photos from my S6 Edge to my wife's Z3 compact via Android Beam ( NFC ) I get the error : Unfortunately the NFC Service has stopped, every single time. NFC is working, I've tried with a few NFC tags and my Sony Smartband. If I transfer photos via Android beam from the Z3 compact to my Edge it is working. I've tried with another phone an Z1 compact, same issue , from my Edge to Z1 I get the NFC error, but from the Z1 compact to my Edge it is working.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
No one? Today I've tried with an Galaxy S6 same problem, I can receive files through Android Beam but if I want to send a photo I get the NFC Service has stopped error. My phone is not rooted and is running the latest firmware.

Try going to settings > application manager > more > show system apps > nfc service and force close it. Reboot phone and try again
Thanks for the answer. I've managed to solve the problem. In application manager I've clicked the option Reset app preferences and now it works. It had something to do with Apps that can appear on top, I've disabled some system apps a month ago and that was the problem.

Purchased my gear S last night everything was working fine. It stopped receiving notifications today for some reason - no emails, SMS, etc everything else seems to be working fine.
I am connected by Bluetooth. Tried factory reset twice and even cleared cache on phone.
Any other tips?

ok
After amost losing all hope, it workes, not quite sure what triggered it back on. I decided one thing i didmt try was uninatalling gear manager app amd reimstalling it, did that which in return force factory resets the gear as well (it didnt matter cuz i had manually some that 3 times by now) and then it randomly started working again.
I do feel sometimes it misses some notifications, even if you select the option to semd all notifications.
As for firmware version, no update is available for me neither!
Firmware ending in ANJ3
Very strange. Notifications now not getting pushed, only getting SMS ones. Have not cha ged any of the settings. What am I doing wrong
Same problem here

No problem. Restart of the phone is fine.
Decided to format my entire phone.. Long overdue anyway.. Once i connected to gear thia time it prompted with update available (prev saying no updates avail) and i can see now its changed tonNJ7 and its only been a few hours but seems to pick up all notifications so far with no problem... Not sure why only after fomatting the phone did it ever ive me the option to upgrade but glad it did..
I had the issue, but realised I still had Gmail intercepting email and the Samsung email app was not configured correctly to sync. It's a shame the watch only works properly with Samsung's email app. It's OK but very basic.
As for the SMS, it happpened only once, but I rebooted both the phone and watch and it all works OK. Once again I was using a 3rd party SMS app that I hadn't disabled properly.
The SMS app from Samsung is also basic but I like the fact you can reply to SMS on the watch, so I am sticking to it for now.
I just checked for updates and found there is an update and it did fix the notification bug

Notifications stop after bluetooth disconnects, even after recconnecting
I have a Gear S paired to a Note 4.
The Gear S stops receiving notifications whenever the Bluetooth connection between the devices is lost – even after the Bluetooth connection re-establishes itself, and despite the fact that the Gear S is set up to receive notifications via the internet. I can replicate this problem - so its definitely not a random issue.
I have tried the following, without success:
➢ Restarting the Gear S
➢ Resetting the Gear S
➢ Uninstalling and reinstalling the Gear Manager app
➢ Checking for Gear S software updates.
The only thing that works (temporarily) is to restart the Note 4. But as soon as Bluetooth disconnects (for example, if I walk out of range of the Note 4) the notifications fail to work again.
My Gear S software version is R750XXU1ANJ4. Gear Manager indicates that there is no update available.
I've emailed Samsung, but haven't had any response yet.
Any advice would be appreciated. I love the Gear S - so not keen to return it.
Thx
Hey everyone,
I just got myself a Gear Fit and wanted to connect it to my (rooted and Custom-ROM) S4.
Everything works fine on my (stock) Note 10.1 2014, it connects to the Fit and everything seems to be ok.
I want to pair it with my S4 though and that does not work.
I got the Latest Download from Here and installed the Fit Manager.
It does attempt to connect to the Fit and then when pairing it jst sits there and does nothing. After some time the Fit attempts another connection, however it does nothing after that either...
Does anyone have an Idea?
Edit:
By now I've tried versions:
1.111.1216 (no connection)
1.78.0721 (crashes on connection)
1.96.1124 (same)
and the "Latest Official" from Here (no connection)
Same with zopo 3x
Hi I have the same or a similar problem. With Samsung s3 on cyanogenmod pairing and connection was fine. My gear fit is on newest firmware and I tried all managers from 1.55 to 1.88. My zopo does pair but not connect. Connection screen on phone is waiting forever. No message. The gear fit wait for pair confirmation of phone. Very strange
Any idea? I tried also to delete pairing in Android Bluetooth settings. Same behavior on next pairing.
Disabling "Developer options" helped in my case on Galaxy Note 4 pairing with Gear 2.
No solution for this Problem? Can't connect my gear fit since firmware upgrade :crying:

i have tried pairing gear fit with rooted xperia c ,
same problem with the confirmation screen , it sticks on screen " Connecting to gear fit "
any solution for this, i have disabled developer option.
seem like SS did something on their rom. My note 3 connect perfectly with GF when using TW base custom rom(both kitkat and lollipop) but when i try with AOSP rom(lollipop), it have a same problem with GFM. So if you want to use ur GF, u need to stay with TW base roms, GFM work well and no problem with both kitkat and lollipop

Apparently, you need to download the Gear Fir Manager from apps.samsung.com/gearfit not from the samsung app store.
The Samsung app store version does not work, you need to download the latest gear app from the website, gd luck
Yeah it's a bit late but try to get back on Sammy based firmware. That's strange because on lollipop on my Note 4 I couldn't connect to Fit but on S3L with 4.4.4 Note'd 4 software it works perfectly(hah because of Fit went back to S3 )

I have a big problem with my gear s...i can't get to the apps pannel by swaping up. Everything else is working fine( notification, media player etc) but i can't get to apps and settings even after reset,upair/repair, rewrite firmware, delete cache from all related gear apps from phone, factory reset/ pairing with another samsung phone ( with fresh gear manager installed). I dont't know what to do.
Get a replacement device

I'd just try installing another firmware different from the one you've had before.
get a watch face that has app shortcuts.
Temporary as u need to get it looked at... u can get one with 12 apps on.
I just send it to the orange for repair/replacement. Waiting for news. I'll be back with news ASAP
It was resolved by "software upgrade" as the repair paper says. What't intristing is that I reflashed two times with odin the same firmware and nothing...
BTW. Orange Romania sells gear s from the very begining AND my watch was the first in the country to need service. This tells a lot about quality of gear s and samsung in a GOOD way!!!
I was using the auto unlock feature of the Gear S, so that when it is connected I didn't have to enter any password/pin to unlock my phone screen.
Then I upgraded my S5 to Lolipop and I was still able to use this feature.
Today, all of a sudden, this feature started not working.
And I am not able to activate it on Gear Manager.
Any ideas ? Does anybody else have the same issue ?
Thanks.
This is really weird and disturbing. We noticed the same issue on my wife's Gear S as well.
Anybody else ?
the problem is solved after clearing the security credentials.
I already used my gear s for months successfully with my note 4. Always worked OK, also remote connection through WiFi or 3g went without hiccups. Yesterday I bought an edge+, I reset my gear to defaults and installed and ran gear manager. Pairing was OK. All seemed good, only the moment Bluetooth connection is lost the gear switches to WiFi and almost immediately says it cannot set up remote connection. Also on 3g is not working. I ticked the remote connection checkbox in gear manager settings but doesn't work. Already three times reset the gear and setup again, completely removed all gear manager components, no luck so far. Working seamless on Bluetooth, not through remote connection.
Any body with s6 edge+ experience the same?
I have the same issue with my S6 edge+.
I also used the gear S with note 4 without remote connection issues.
I passed by Galaxy S6 Edge to Galaxy S6 Edge+ and I do not work more calls and notifications remotely with Gear S .
Before when I walk away from the range of the bluetooth with the Galaxy S6 Edge could perfectly to have call forwarding and notifications, now with Galaxy S6 Edge+ I get the message that you can not make the call diversion etc etc. connect to Bluetooth.
You have done the same experience?
You know the reasons and solutions?
Thanks for the reply

I have the same issues. I reported them to Samsung. I suggest everybody does the same. So maybe Samsung wakes up and fixes this problem. I suspect it has something to do with gear manager. I noticed that the preinstalled version on the s6 edge plus is older then the one you find in the Samsung store. But I cannot update to this version....
Not dependent on the software version. My S6 Edge+ version is the same that is on the Galaxy Apps (v.2.2.15070942)

You're right. Same version here. I was wrong because in my galaxy store the date next to the version number seems to be today's date. When I looked yesterday it was 9 Sept. That way it looked like it's was released today.
+1, same here
I also updated my S6 edge to the plus version. Everything worked fine with S6 edge but now I can't connect remotely (wifi or 3G). BT connection is OK.
I have reported this to Samsung and they promised to be in touch. Nothing yet thought...

I thought i read somewhere that there was an update for gear manager. Can you check the samsung store to see if there actually is? Maybe it fixes the remote connection problem. I cant check for myself because i had to send my edge+ for repairs (i'm the guy who's back cover shattered)
Let me know please.... And if not succesful keep reporting to samsung... I'll do the same

For me no update available..
Build date is 14.9 but its the same version number (2.2.15070942)
It still doesn't work
Last V.2.2.15070942 ..... remote transfer does not work!
We must insist to request a final settlement with the Service Samsung People.
Same here...note 4 worked perfectly. I swiched 2 days ago to S6 Edge plus and only Bluetooth connection works. Remote conection fails. Tried 3 resets/ uninstals but still nothing
Just reconnected to note 4 and remote connection works flawlessly... Back to the edge and the same problem... Come on Samsung!!!!!

I was having this issue at first but I got it to work, and now it's fine everytime.
Make sure the watch is on, and connected via Bluetooth. Then in the Gear S app, select "remote connect" so that it turns the option on. Then go to "auto call forwarding" and turn that on.
Then walk away until the Bluetooth disconnects. It will appear that remote connection is not working. Then walk back to your phone until Bluetooth reconnects. Then turn off remote connect (without turning off auto-call forward). Then turn remote connect back on. Then go to auto call forward and turn it on again. Viola, works.

Hi there,
Having the same issues as everyone else here. I am connected to a Note 5 , with the gear manager pre installed. everything works fine except for the remote connection, I just get an error message "failed to enable remote connection" .
I was going to try this fix you suggested, however on my version of gear manager I do not even have the option of auto call forwarding, so I cant try your fix.
I have also tried connecting to a friends S5 and the remote connection worked fine.... this is very disappointing from Samsung to have this major function not working properly for so long.
I hope they provide an update / fix soon.
Regards
Brian

I just spent some time with a "Samsung Expert" in online chat discussing the issue , they said this has not yet been reported to them, so I hope everyone who is posting here will start reporting it to Samsung.
They have now arranged to call me on Wednesday and remotely take control of my phone to see if they can find or resolve the issue , so I will wait and see what they come up with, in the mean time I hope everyone will start contacting Samsung.
I will post back again after my call with them on Wednesday.
