i,m really having a hard time to find a helpful thread that describes the way to flash the stock rom via fastboot or any other way. first of all i,m not using the AT&T variant.
1. should i download the AT&T rom from the HTC website or the unlocked dev rom?
2. how do i flash them? their is instruction for AT&t but nothing for the dev rom
Note: i,ve worked with samsung, xiaomi, sony devices but i,m a newbie considering HTC devices.

Hi, im thinking of buying a htc hero soon here in hk but i have a few questions mainly about rooting...
1)Does installing the recovery image mean that you have rooted the phone? or do i have to install a custom rom in order to have things such as tethering on my phone
2)Will the custom roms work with the carriers in hk?
3)Will running the original stock htc .exe updaters un-root my phone and replace the recovery image so it will look as if nothing has ever happened?
4)what are the radio roms on the modaco website?
thanks!
This may be a totally stupid question, but I can't find it in the Wiki or anywhere else.
What happens when I download the rom package from HTC and run their updater? Will this brick my phone, or will it work as normal but just lock SPL again?
My Raph is HardSPL'd, security unlocked and running custom rom and radio. I am getting a bit tired with all the instabilities, bugs and problems with custom roms and want to go back to htc stock for a while. The latest version which I want to use is not available on here as rom only, so I can only use the .exe package from HTC.
Thanks.

You can go to stock HTC without touching the security lock or the SPL ( unless you want to give back for warranty ).
You can get the latest Stock HTC ROM from HTC support website ( for your country ) its free.
It will change your radio as well.
It will not brick your phone.
If you plan to flash a custom ROM in future you should not touch the SPL and Unlock.
If you don't want to Flash Stocks any more read the tutorial in my signature by MSkip.
Follow the steps and you won't brick your phone.
You should have searched a little MORE before starting a new thread.
i bought myself an AT&T atrix previously. However, Lately my country Malaysia launched Moto Atrix. I hope to get a stock Malaysian Version rom.
is it possible?
thanks.
no not possible, an ATT Atrix cannot be flashed with a foreign build, It may be possible to flash the boot.img and system.img from a Malaysian rom to your atrix if u unlock the bootloader, however there will probably be incompatibilities and bugs if u do so. Best bet is to just unlock the bootloader and load kenneth's release of gingerbread 2.3.4
No idea why you'd want to flash a malaysian rom when ATT has BL unlock
ops.... My Mistake.
i tot it will be unlocked to all Atrix.
then i think i will start my journey with unlock the bootloader 1st.
thanks bro~
Hi guys ..
I have one x+ "plus" , unlock and rooted .. I want back to Stock Rom ??
If some one have the rom please put here .
Thank you
Custom ROM???? Are you talking about the default "Stock" ROM that came with your One X+?
For custom ROMs, there are close to 5 or 6 different ones for the world/international version of the One X+. About 2 or 3 for AT&T/Telus version of the X+.
What version of One X+ do you have?
What was the name of the custom ROM?
Your post is very unclear for anyone to understand what you are requesting!

one x+ international version , cid : J-15 .
As far as I know you cannot flash a stock ROM with the boot loader unlocked. You will need to re-lock your boot loader.
All of the Stock shipped ROMs from HTC are in this thread, first post:

Please do not ask me how to re-lock your boot loader as the answer is very easy to find.

It doesn't matter what country you are in. Just flash stock rooted ICS ROM. You should flash 4ext recovery though, because it's recomended for Evo and has smartflash option which allows you to flash custom boot image with s-on
liquidsmooth has a new rom in development that i highly recommend checking out although it requires s-off the little effort it takes to do so would be worth it in my opinion and there is plenty of guides to walk you through it. just make sure its a gsm rom as i spent the better part of a day trying to figure out why my gsm rom wouldn't work on my cdma phone. live and learn
