simple question about browser widgets - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If i use the launcher that came with the phone, called Home, I see some widgets that I like (clock, weather, agenda, etc). But if I run Nova launcher, which is what I prefer, I do not see those widgets to be added. Why?
Do I need to download Nova-specific widgets? Or is there a way to enable those for Nova?

Anyone?

Most LG widgets are exclusive to LGs launcher. This helps LG in that if you want to use those widgets you are stuck using their home launcher.

Question regarding desktop visualizer

I want to change my messaging and contacts icons on the touchwiz launcher but can't figure out how. The only option it gives me is to replace them with another app. I can make new icons to place on my screens but not on the tw row.

You need Launcher Pro or some other home screen alternative to change those.
I have been using Launcher Pro for a while now and wanted a change for a while. Thanks though.

ADW Ex is 3.1 ready. I still like the new honeycomb launcher for now though myself.

good to know that it works on 3.1. I would guess the home replacement app is not ready for 3.1 yet.
launch pro was mentioned somewhere in the forum ...another home app ...

using Launcher Pro and it works great, but not optimized for tablet yet.
I'm currently using ADW Launcher EX. I've gotten better performance from it than the stock launcher. Can't wait for the next release as it should have better integration with Honeycomb.
i never used launch pro , why i have an impression that the app allows you to customerize widget rather than being a home app ..

It lets you adjust the widget size if you purchase the full version, but it's mainly meant as a replacement home.
I use ADW EX after trying Launcher Pro which had a number of FC's. Adw flies on my GT but LP's widgets look great on the big screen. Just a bit of advice if you use a custom launcher is set the orientation to portrait or landscape and set it the way you want. The screens don't transition well if you use large widgets which I do.

I use LauncherPro primarily because of its great looking widgets and widget resizing. Honeycomb's resizing features only work with certain widgets specifically designed to support it. LauncherPro will resize any widget.
The only thing I don't like about LauncherPro is its app drawer, but for that, I have a shortcut to an activity that points to the native home screen. I haven't been able to locate the specific command to automatically launch its app drawer, but just getting to the home screen is a start. In theory, you could launch any replacement home screen's app drawer.

iPhone

Out of pure boredom, I'm trying to get my phone to look like iPhone. I have a launcher that makes it look like it. I'm using bTunes as the music app. And I have an iPhone notifications app. Can anyone recommend anything else, or anything better than what I've done?

Have you ever thought about to use iphone instead?
Haha I did that once, it was either GO Launcher or ADW Launcher that has a really slick looking icon set -if you really like the launcher you have there is an app called 'ThemeX' that extracts features from themes, such as icons, docks or backgrounds. And the other thing you will want is a iphone folder widget.

The Best Screen Lock App

My wish is that someone would make a Screen Lock App and maybe some has, if not I think this a great idea, of course.
1. It must show any missed income calls, messages and emails.
2. Time and weather.
3. Circle when long pressed to swipe outside of circle to open.
4. Customizable App selection; the ability to add a few apps around the circle to choose from, but if not chosen swipe outside of the circle to opens.
5. Select a random picture everytime you turn on your phone from a directory of your choice.
I think that's a tall order my friend, but you can try Widget Locked and see if you get some or all of those things you're looking for...

Yes, WidgetLocker is great. It allows to add homescreen widgets on it. Plus, it has many themes to launch apps (ICS, Sense, iPhone).
I'd like to add more: Install "Tesla Unread" to get missed call, SMS and Gmail counts.
Yeah, Widget Locker pretty much does all of that minus Live Picture wallpaper.

You'll have to install Go Launcher EX to use it. Just to tweak lock screen usability, changing home launcher is an overkill..
I'm gonna suggest, as others here have, Widget Locker. I've always been running widget locker since I first had an android phone and have never used anything else because it does the job perfectly. Obviously, it's best feature is the customization available for it. Every few days I'm changing the layout of my lockscreen, just so it's something new

You could try using widget locker combined with minimalistic text integrated with tasker. That might give you what you want.

Nova launcher, 130 size icons, material icons

Home and lock. Google Now Launcher. Wallpaper from Backdrops
Total Launcher. One is the app drawer, the other is the home screen with pics of the boss lady.. Zooper widget for the time, and the wife pics are done in app from total launcher. Can be made to launch apps and stuff but I have those 4 just layered there doing nothing. Its a great app and not too heavy. I really like the flexibility. I used to have it to where it would just scroll vertically like some of the old windows mobile phone. So basically a realllly long home screen with everything just a swipe away up or down. But for now I have it simple.
Older pic but it's still the same.
Updated my Nova "single" home screen. Figured instead of swiping to multiple pages I'll just organize my apps in Android N folders. Two finger slide up to get to app drawer. Zooper widget clock.

Immaterial icon pack and wallpaper. Nova launcher set to 9x5 grid. Simple text for the widgets. App drawer is a swipe up gesture in Nova.

I had to look up how to do screenshot on this phone. Not real evident:laugh:
quick update on my home screen. Nothing to special on my folders and icons but I did make this wallpaper. Copied the google logo on their home page a few weeks ago and dropped it on a black background using a wallpaper creator app. I attached it if anyone wants to use it. If you use it show us how your homepage looks. Thanks
