So, i saw many comments about asking about Nougat, features and stuff... that maybe could be solved all that questions in a thread. If this is pointless, just i'll ask an admin to clean this up... but the point of this thread is solve so common questions about the newer builds of nougat.
This build is stable?
The build is very stable, but not at the point of MM. There's some less battery performance but after all: that builds are in an alpha/beta stage, so... this things could happen. But after all, it works smoothly.
Nice rom, but when you can update it? When you'll fix the bugs?
Everybody's just love when there's an update date or release date, we know it. But please, don't ask ETA. It may annoy the developer, and after all, we're human and we have things happening in real life, so maybe the real life business take over the dev's time to make changes and test it. Be patient, please
There will be a fix for video recording?
The dev's (at this date) are working on it. The known workaround that could be useful is: You can use Cameringo Lite to solve it.
CM14 ONLY: There's CMTE? Can i use themes? X feature doesn't work, what's happening?
By now, the CM people it's working and rebasing their work on the new nougat AOSP. Maybe in october (or when they have it ready) they'll implement slowly all those features. And if some feature doesn't work on the CM14 version, please, remember: that's an alpha build and CM team is working to make it work. By now it doesn't seems to work but, it's an alpha build, that thing could happen.
If you want to theme your device, you could try substratum by now.
This doesn't work on X device, please help
Reporting issues are more useful to devs if you log it. If you have an USB, search in google how to install ADB and use logcat. If you can use the device, you can install catlog, record the log and replicate the issue. After that, copy or upload the log and send it to the dev.
Hope this helps!
will u build cm14 for vee3 ?

Hi all,
I didn't find the information about the nightly build.
What is the difference between the standard one and nightly?
Please post a link I want to know.
Thanks
-JFK-
a nightly is just what it sounds like, nightly updates from the developers.
it's a good thing, and a bad thing. you'll get bug fixes as soon as they're implemented, but you'll also get broken builds from when the developers leave their work half-done, and you risk soft-bricking your device by using them.
if you're unsure of which one is meant for you, just go with the stable release and save yourself (and us) the headache of you harming your device using nightlies.

Non-working functions are due improper implementation of hardware drivers(working on it)
Right now ill be commiting changes to the device config but due to hardware limitations
it takes lot of time to compile a build.
If you have sufficient hardware resources(RAM,space, cores)
you can clone my repo ,download and build the Cyanogenmod source and test it on your phone
PM me for any queries

slightly off topic from an android-noob: Why still Android 2.x.x?
Any hope of Android 4.x.x (ICS) in viewpad7?

I'm think cause 2.3 and 2.2 have most possibility to use in stable. Viewpad 7 is to old to play around. And if this device have rom that can use maximum hardware's can do and stable. I think maybe we can see Viewpad7's ICS ROM in real life.
Sorry for my weak english.

Tnie device seems too weak for ics, its a single core 600mhz armv6 CPU.
ics think it wil work on oure device it`s been ported too the x8 to and that`s a arm v6 600 mhz to,
but im happy with 2.3.7
Well, as long as I get 7.1 I'm happy. I still think having it ported is one thing but having it work flawlessly for everyday use is another.
Is wifi working yet? I've seen some commits on github but haven't seen any updates to the update.zip file in the first post.
*edit* where is the update.zip, exactly? Can't seem to find it on the first post anymore
Also, the sensors readout for screen orientation should be somehow flipped or mangled, for by default the device seems to be in landscape mode and if turned to portrait, it flips upside down for me.
hi
really appreciate you looking into porting this to the viewpad/variants etc
hope it goes well, looking forward to a little added ooompf,
(though [ROM]EUViewpad7 v1.7b has been great too)
@googlehome how's the progress?
@anyone I'm a programmer but i'm new to this android build compilation etc. Could anyone point me to tutorial or manual on how to these and those? Thx.
Yes, viewpad 7 seems to weak for ICS... We didn't even get honeycomb (3.X)
Dear Santa...
I'll be happy just with 2.3 and using my front camera with skype or gtalk...
Happy Holidays
Thank for hardwork
Hi
I think Gingerbread is perhaps as far as this device will go - in terms of functionality and "useablilty" - sure I'm sure ICS will "go on" if attempted but i'm pretty sure will fail to be useful (and if someone proves me wrong then I still win as I'll use it)
anyway keep up the good work with this gingerbread attempt - I'm hoping it goes well
Any news for the new year?
"The G2 Dream Team" (and they well deserve that name) has released not one, but TWO lollipop builds for the LG G2. Both ROMs are based on the same build tree, but one ROM is CM12 and the other is a LiquidSmooth 4.0 ROM. Despite being built from the same build tree, they carry different features. They are stable and usable for daily drivers, but they may carry some bugs, like a non-functional video playback, NFC issues for LS/VS980 but it should all be sorted out in the near future. Head over to the threads to read more!:

Older posts:
An increasing amount of devices have been receiving unofficial Android Lollipop 5.0 ports, like the HTC One M8 and the LG Optimus L9. Today another device can be added to the list of phones receiving a treatment with the taste of Android Lollipop, the LG G2. While there generally has been a wide contribution from the community; testing, sharing files and giving ideas, two XDA members stood out in particular in order to create the build, @ylukasy and @InfinitusDesigner. The port is still in a very early pre-alpha stage, and the bugs are barely known yet, but the ROM boots and has even been rooted! While it might be wisest to wait until an official thread has been made before grabbing your devices and start flashing, @ylukasy has already provided a download link for the ROM, and calls for people to help discover the bugs so that they can be eliminated. Please notice that the ROM might not be stable enough to be used as a daily driver, but owners of a LG G2 are officially an important step closer to having a stable Lollipop ROM!
If this post caught your interest and you're willing to take the risk, head over to the last pages in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/unofficial-cm12-nexus-5-posted-t2936398
As previously mentioned, a lot of things are not sorted out yet, and the build might not be for your device number, so make sure you read the entire thread before continuing, or simply wait untill an official thread is made.
Update:
An official thread has been posted and it can be found by following this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/rom-android-lollipop-fast-clean-t2941922
The build is a port of the Nexus 5 ROM, and users of the ROM have been saying that the rom is very fast and fluid, calls work, camera works (although the quality is inferior), but other users have been reporting random reboots and incompatibilities with certain apps such as YouTube or WhatsApp.

This post will be updated regularly when new information regarding Lollipop ports surface.
Fantastic News! Will get round to trying it shortly, thanks for the link!
While I have my doubts about it being functional (or even booting) on my LS980, I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
Nice to see things moving at breakneck speeds these days.
On a side note, I just read the AnandTech review of the Nexus 6 and am happy to report that my well over a year old G2 beats it in several benchmarks so I'm pretty satisfied at the moment, especially considering I got it for free. I mean really...
In before "no build for xxxx?!?!?!?"
Anyone know how to port a d802 rom to d800?
Ready to try it out and see what happened..??
his build is from the same source the other was he doesn't deserve credit for it. it's using cm12 kernel and dev claims it's using nexus 5 port yet requires gapps and no signs of any nexus 5 code at all.
Wouldn't it be alot easier to just post the download link here?

It's not my work, and there are some steps which must be followed in order to make it work. I am just objectively informing any news regarding Android Lollipop for the LG G2.
OP has been updated.
The download link was removed before i could get the v3 version so im stuck with v2 and ive been using it as my daily (yeah it reboots every 5 minuets and i can leave wifi on or it will bootloop) But honestly thats the fun in testing this stuff out

Can anyone port the Nexus 5 ROM?
Updating this thread later today if nothing gets in the way.
Hi everybody!!
I need a tester please:
I built pure AOSP for the D802 from sources of Android right now, has anybody time to test it?
It is an experimental build and I didn't test it right now, so I don't know if it is working, please make a backup from your current rom.
The build comes with an built in CWM recovery and should be with root access. It can be flashed with the same instructions like the CM 12 build.
Edit: Bootloop right now ... Anybody, can you take a logcat?
http://builds.hubdroid.com/otherroms/aosp_d802-ota-102.zip
Thank you in advance!! Please anybody who tries it: can you send me a pm?

I'd love to test this for you, but I'm on Sprint LS980 Would you mind making a build for us?

Yes sure, but right now, I have to solve the bug, that the d802 wouldnt boot, so this may take some more time until I build it for other devices too.

Hi.
I don't know if this is the right place for posting or not. But I just wanted to share it with you guys.
I was a fan of Simple AOSP ROM on my Nexus 4 back in the day. According to me, it had all the essential features for a ROM.
Now I have switched to OP2. The development of OP2 was very slow in the early stages but now it has picked up pace.
Keeping that in mind, I want to request someone to please build this ROM for our OP2. Since I have no idea or the time to build it myself, I would love to see someone take this up.
Here is the official source code - https://github.com/SAOSP-M
Regards,
Reserved.
I'm not a developer myself but I do try and flash the roms on my OP2. Not sure if you yourself are a developer so please ignore if you already have checked these, but Paranoid android, Exodus are all aosp based.. and this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-aosp-caf-oneplus2-t3386553
I think is purely aosp-caf based.
I don't know if I'm out of line suggesting an alternative rom but, http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/orig-development/rom-halogenos-oneplus-2-t3377799
Similar to the suggestion above but is way more current. June security update, beta 2 released today.
Hi,
As OnePlus is not updating anymore Onyx since last november I'm considering installing a custom rom.
For now my choices are on AOKP and Lineage OS.
I want something light but secure.
I don't need billions of features.
Does anyone has experienced both roms on Onyx and could give some feedbacks ?
Thanks a lot !
Regards,
Lineage is simply no go.
I think GZR are most stable ones.
There is a minimal feature build of jdc available on afh you can try that, imo it is the best nougat based rom for onyx at the moment(may change once pa hits the market).
Try Tesla from the thread here if you are looking fir stable 7.1.2 ROM

I will have a look at GZR.
I never heard about it before.
What's wrong about LineageOS ?
Big Update The King SultanXda Might support onyx.
So whenever his N based rom is out it will be the most stable and complete rom for onyx(he is the best dev out there).
I use XenonHD: fast and stable, ok for daily use, no bugs, tristate ok, updated near monthly. About 4h of SOT.
I red that there's network issues with most of N roms for Onyx.
Is it true and anyone has experienced it with GZR?
Sultan is great but...

I'd rather get Tutorials from Sultan than wait for him to develop OPX ROM - I appreciate he is just trying to survive like everyone else.
He's great but I have to be able to understand & do for myself. I can't afford ISP but would pay SultanXda to put out Tutorial Videos using OnePlus X as an example device, so I could learn from him.
Can't wait for anyone, its too dependent better to learn for myself & teach others so they can be independent too.
I went back to OOS 3.1.4 there are too many apps I don't use on it but I like OOS Style just wish I could remove unwanted google apps get security updates on it at least

Anyone has tried aokp nougat nightlies? Are they stable enough to be used as daily driver?
