Found a sever issue with RemixOS clean installation on native EXT4 partion using INTALL=1 DEBUG= as boot option with Remix OS USB image.
The installation is ON UEFI PC with windows 10 installed on the first partion with UEFI GPT partionioning flavuor.
Remix OS after the boot identify a Corrupted USB drive. Android propose to fix it formatting the USB.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DO NOT EXECUTE SUGGESTED FIX <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
This will damage EFI partition and WINDOWS partion and all data will be lost.
No way to recover!

Hi Sir, we think this is a serious problem, but can't really reproduce this problem? Do you have a way to reproduce this issue?

32bit OS on Toshiba Satellite L305 with T3200 Intel Processor
Goto Settings then Storage and USB
Portable Storage says Android-x86
Corrupted
When you click on that it pops up and says:
This USB drive is corrupted
To use this USB drive, you have to set it up first.
Options are Cancel or Set up
If you follow-thru on setup it will eventually tell you to format your drive. In my case it formatted the main hard drive. After rebooting everything was gone.

perhaps it cause the partition type, I think MMC or usb flash drive can't use FS Fat/Fat32 at the same time on primary type partition, the Fat32 may work with ext4/Linux partition at the same time. correct me, if I'm wrong.

just put path in text box & Press Pull From Device button..
It has feature for fast data transfer over adb without mounting sd card...
It also has many more features that will make your workflow much easier..

Thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494319
I used the Android x86 installer for UEFI devices found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/winapp-android-x86-installer-uefi-t3222483
That installed fine and the OS runs fairly well though I would like to have my /data partition be located on an SDCard rather then on my actual built in storage.
Now, from my other attempts at trying to install Android x86 I've learned that nothing can boot from an SDCard but is it possible to have Grub or Android use an SDCard for my /data directory?
I'm pretty sure I saw a thread mentioning this a while ago but I can't seem to dig it back up for the life of me.
Thanks guys.
Anyone have any info on this, I've still yet to figure this out.
it's some thing you doing in your phone that makes the orginal installation path to your sd card but what is your cell phone model first ???

Your issue is probably a problem with the kernel not being able to use your display or GPU properly. Just wait until the next RC or chekc out the IRC chat, someone might be able to help you there.

I'm not talking about an actual Android phone, I'm using Android x86 on an ASUS Transformer Book T100TAM.
So I've since tried to create symlinks from the /data partition to the sdcard and it ended up just crashing/bootlooping. I figured it might be because the sdcard is a FAT32 formatted device and there for doesn't support Unix permissions/ownership. I tried formatting the card as EXT4 and now android just refuses to mount it.
Any one have any ideas for me?
Thanks.
I'm running out of ideas here. Does anyone have any suggestions for me on this issue?
Hello everyone,
I was really hyped to try RemixOS for the first time. I bought a new 64gb USB Stick, Sandisk USB3.0. I found out that it was formated in exFAT, found a tool and formated it to FAT32. I flashed the UEFI version into the usb stick. However, whenever i try to boot from Resident OR Guest, it hangs at Detecting Android-X86.... Found at (...)
I activated DEBUG=1 and here's the message i get :
VFS couldn't find a valid v7
VFS unsupported optional features 40
Can someone help me?
Thank you

a few days ago i tried installing remixOS on my USB FlashDisk 3.0(Using a normal way), then i run it on my notebook, it work normally at the first.. I can boot normally to like the others..
Then i try to install play store, then i install clash royale because my connection is slow, then i leave my notebook until it was installed.. When i back, my notebook was in sleep mode..
When i try to wake them, its have blank, black screen.. Then i turn it off with pressed the power for a few second (force turning off).. And then, i try to boot the remixOS again, then it was stuck on the boot and have a text like the pict..
I have tried to re-install them with a same way(not format my USB Flashdisk first) then i try to boot it, it was the same..
I search in google, no one was have a problem like this.. anyone can help me ?
Sorry, bad english..
Hi it's caused by the ota update. Is the pendrive active when it gets stuck there(any blinking led)? Does installing to harddrive work?
Sorry, I can't help you much, mine is installed to hdd but my ota fail too, some time after ui print it will say unexpected file in partition and boots into the old version.

I try install on my hdd too.. i have the same problem.. stuck on that again..
On my notebook i just have 3 LED(Capslock, battery, power)
i install on my hdd with this step :
- make a new partition with FAT32 file system
- copying the .iso file to that partition, extracting that
- using EASYBCD make a boot option for the RemixOS(directing the boot path to the iso in the new partition)
- then restart..
with that step i can use it normally, but after i installing Clash of Clans, the error was "ui_print" too..
And now i installing the RemixOS on my new partition with normally(using installer.exe)
hope it went normally forever after..
if the problem is the OTA update, can i disable it ?
It doesn't seem to obey the setting not to update. Hopefully it works for you with remix installer.
I'd love to find a way to add a USB Mass Storage option when connecting the Lenovo TB-8703F to PC, to make the MicroSD accessible like a USB stick or hard drive. Has anyone successfully done it? Using MTP is far from ideal for my purposes.
You mean like this? If yes, I did nothing. I don't even have the drivers installed, only what windows installs on it's own.

That is MTP. The drive cannot be seen by apps that require writing to a 'drive letter' with MTP. And copying and reading files is worse since it has to cache the file being read first. And I've had heaps of instances where the latest files wouldn't be visible with MTP unless the Android device was rebooted first. MTP is a total pain (for the way I work). Only advantage to me is making some of the internal storage accessible but I save everything important to MicroSD.
I can't see why USB Mass Storage is omitted since all the budget Lenovo tablets I have had experience with have it. They cost half what this tablet does. And I can even connect 2 tablets together and share files with nothing more complex than a $1 USB OTG cable from ebay connected to a Micro USB cable when in USB Mass Storage mode. All without a spyware brain-damaging wifi sharing app. I can do so much with USB Mass Storage.
Also MTP doesn't play well with older OSs without drivers. Less of an issue now than it once was but still not fun when you need it.
I have tried UMS Enabler https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-universal-mass-storage-enabler-beta-t3240097 in my desperation but didn't have much luck.
