You can use dactyl which costs a small amount of money, or if you know how to (or are motivated enough) you can build it yourself for free from the Github.

Dactyl works fine for me. I am on cyanogenmod 13 with radon kernel.

if you have fpc sensor , then you can try optimized cm. for now that's rom still have minor bug as my posting on the thread. if you can accept it, then you can use fp as camera shutter.

I have goodix and it works. Radon kernel now supports goodix for CM, or you can flash the fix that a user made.

the bug is when you at home screen and touch you fps, then it will click your bottom left screen right above dock area.
not sure whether developer work on this or not, but i already inform him about. it's a minor bug, but annoying enough for me. other stuff seems working great on thats rom.

I guess we will wait for the dev to fix the bug.
How was the dual sim function? Some rom got bug whenever using 2 simcard at the same time. The bug will make the phone not recognized both simcard and wifi also will not working. After remove one sim then the phone can read one sim card. The bug make dual sim phone into single sim :laugh:

yah, for sure I will waiting him to fix the bug due to actually the rom itself are great, fast and stable.
no problem with sim card as I always use 2 sim and micro sd in my phone also with others functionality, work as expected.

Hi there fyi there is a new update on the optimized rom by umang.
It seem i could not get the fingerprint to work with the default camera as a shutter.
Do you somehow get the fingerprint to work with the camera ?

Already tried official crDroid & AICP, both rom give me same result. Not trying for the rest, but assume that I will still be able to use my fp as cam shutter. cmiiw.

depend on your main usage, if camera important for you then simply keep at MM for now due to currently those feature still worse than MM
basically, N ROM combined with custom kernel already stable enough for my usage pattern. Internet, RIL, Video Call, Wifi, some game, even sound output can be a par with miui for now, added with sound mod and you can damaged your hearing easily
but not with camera, sometimes (rare) it will laggy and then error if you switch from main to front cam. focus also really hard to set.
other feature still on progress is live display, with LD on you'll probably get some black screen of death and should reboot it to fix.
for ROM, try aicp since those rom already have nightly build and getting better on daily base.

Hi,
Hopefully I am writing in the correct place about my issue.
I have the Xperia Z2, rooted, bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery.
I flashed the Unofficial PAC ROM by "rcstar6696" and it works fine with tons of features, my problem is that the phone would not lock securely.
I tried to use PIN, Pattern, Gesture locks and they all do not function, the phone will still unlock with slide.
I tried to reset the phone, same thing. I looked all over the forums and could not find anything about this with Z2.
My friend owns a Nexus 5 and I rooted and flashed PAC ROM onto his phone and the Pattern lock works like a charm.
Is anyone facing the same issue? Any suggestions anyone?

EDIT: I have flashed the latest version from 20th of September cleanly and still facing the same issue.
EDIT: after a few resets and wipes, I noticed that when installing/uninstalling apps. The lock chosen works for a limited time (Usually 6 hours) and then stops randomly.
I am still trying to identify if it's an app causing this.
EDIT: ISSUE SOLVED !!
I reset the device one more time with a clean boot, then while setting it up, I did not connect to my google account. I skipped most of the steps, then set the lock screen, rebooted, added my google account manually.
and VOILA ! phone securely locked.
I do not know how my google account caused this, but it seems to be the reason at the moment.
The port for Z2 may have some bugs so post your problem in the rom thread and the devloper may reply and explain

I've been using pac rom since its release, I have no issue setting any lockscreen security. Pattern, pin etc all work for me, it has to be either a setting or xposed module causing the issue

Xposed would cause it, or any mods or tweeaks because pac is framework sensitive which means even simple mods can cause huge issues

Yes of course, but I just flashed it cleanly and no apps whatsoever (except GApps & Stock) , and still the issue is the same.
I even did not change any of the ROM built-in settings and still, no secure locking.
Oh and trust me, PAC ROM is amazing (if it wasn't for this issue) , made me hate every minute I spent in CM and TouchWiz (on my old S4) :good:

And yes pac is excellent and perfectly stable, only issues I have is nav bar dpi seems to reset after every reboot, but if I toggle say screen timeout via quick settings it changed to what it should be and active display reboots my phone but I don't use it anyway

I'm not sure how to do that, however, I managed to solve it.
And I am facing the same with nav bar and the PACperformance app, it just doesn't stick after reboot.
EDIT: actually, I just tried a few reboots, the nav bar seems to be fine to me, I did however change the icons via "Android L Navigation Bar" found in the xposed downloads. Maybe that caused it to "stick"?
as for the active display, I would like to use it, but I am a pixel maniac, and that feature isn't FHD yet I guess, so I am not using it either for the moment.

I start with the main bug that I had, impossible to save videos recorded using either stock Camer or alternative applications in Play Store.
I think that the OnePlus One had this same problem in the first versions of CM12, and now it's solved, also it has the same camera sensor as our model: Sony IMX214, so do you think we can solve this problem by porting some libraries from its version?

Apparently there is a problem with changing keyboard from notification icon, and to solve it needs flashing the patch from this thread: http://www.tdbeta.cn/thread-230279-1-1.html
but this patch changes the Settings.apk, and it's not fully translated, and the problem of changing keyboard is not a big problem.

Yes, I'm using it for my daily usage, the biggest bug that I have is the video recording issu, I hope it will be solved soon.

I have the same problem, also the settings of network mode are not correct, when I try to set it to GSM only for example, it shows LTE!!!
But this is not a big issue for me.
I hope only we can solve the issue of video recording, this issue was comon to most cm12 builds, I hope we will have a solution soon.
What i also found is that Whatsapp doesnt always receive its messages. When I start whatsapp it does sync the older messages.
Because probably it doesn't find its backup.
Probably the main memory is the internal memory and your backup is on external sd

I've a problem on charging, if I turned off the device and charge, a warning message " charging abnormal " and will stop charging. On the other hand, keep the device turn on, nothing happen and as normal charging, anyone know the reason?

I just got the new update B330 at Today (this is the official ota, not the beta version). And now sometimes the fingerprint scanner doesn't work when i want to unlock the phone. Sometimes it is working, but... Somebody else recognised this problem? Any idea how to fix it?
For all my opinion is worth, I thought the fingerprint scanner was fast before but since I have upgraded to B330 today I have not had a problem with it. I would go as far to say its possibly a little quicker.

I had this problem on B180 - I deleted the fingerprint, and added it back in, and it was fine.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I deleted and reinstalled my fingerprints, but the bug is still there.

my problem with the fingerprint is cux its slow now when i was in LilliPopp its was so fast but now when im in MM its slow!! anyone have the same problem?
I have it too. Do not worry. Probably because EMUI is a bit slow in response sometimes. Fingerprint is affected and also sometimes "desktop". Yes EMUI has some bugs.
I read that India got B431 that fixes some things, including fingerprint. Not as fast as for EMUI 3.1, but close enough.
Same for me. Sometime work fine and unlock device sometime didn't work. But i found that it reconize the finger because it doesn't vibrate to said finger wrong. I read somewhere that could be a problem with the sleep mode
It's a bit weird, but maybe i fixed it. So i just switched on this option inside of the developer options: Use legacy DHCP client. I just switched on and now it looks like working as well. My theory is the new DHCP client does not fully compatible with the EMUI, and making bugs in the system.

Now I disabled all animations in developer settings. Now fingerprint scan feels much faster. Maybe placebo maybe real. Try and see if helps you.

Weird, I'm using the rom now since two days and haven't got any restarts yet and haven't noticed anything wrong with the fingerprint.
The only thing I can confirm is the camera quality, for me it's ok as I don't use the camera that much anyway.
No restarts here either. Been using for two days. Works nice. Camera quality is not great but it is fast to take a picture. Fingerprint sensor doesnt work at all for me

Camera does not suck, the reason the photos. Were blurry was because the stock gallery app takes alot of time to render the image. Here's a sample image that I took.
I think this is a good ROM but I won't be using it for now since I don't want to do a full reset of my phone.
UPDATE: video recording does not work.
What if one would use a custom camera app would that help with the quality or do they all require some sort of proprietary components? I'm not talking about SteadyShot...etc, just good overall picture results using 3rd party apps on 3rd party ROMs.

This is for Xperia M but this should also work for Xperia x except that you have to take DRM backup before you unlock bootloader.
Fingerprint worked for me initially.
But after adding a second fingerprint, fingerprint-unlock stopped working. Also deleting fingerprints from the settings does not work anymore. Adding new fingerprints also fails now..
Has anyone made the same observation? Possible fix?

I do not recommend though, I've tested it a bit, and in terms of apps you can't really install much, since most of the apps install but the crash right after XD.
Now seriously if this is your main device i don't recommend it, Bluetooth stops working sometimes and it's not stable when connected to sound stuff...No stable music no good
Plus there's some settings issues, nfc works well tho, play services sometimes stop, i don't recommend restoring from cloud or a local backup otherwise It will have serious problems
like play services rebooting XD

I do not recommend though, I've tested it a bit, and in terms of apps you can't really install much, since most of the apps install but the crash right after XD.
Now seriously if this is your main device i don't recommend it, Bluetooth stops working sometimes and it's not stable when connected to sound stuff...No stable music no good
Plus there's some settings issues, nfc works well tho, play services sometimes stop, i don't recommend restoring from cloud or a local backup otherwise It will have serious problems

so, i just tried it for a few hours. way more fluid than stock. no problems so far.
all you need for it to work without FCs is to NOT restore a backup from the cloud
I couldn´t make phh superuser work. the camera is not as good as EMUI (as expected). fingerprint gestures are enabled. swipe to recent. tap to go back. long press to go home.
Excellent performance. Multicore is almost the same as my LG G5

I agree on the camera, i did not test the superuser, tested the fingerprint gestures which are good, but you can't really use much apps since most of them after install crash XD

Yes, performance looks good even tough the EMUI is better optimized for our phone, like , a lot more, so I will stay with the EMUI for now until they fix a lot of bugs on this aosp img ^_^

You sure? You can install any app? Cause i couldn't. There must be, if on mine was. And they even said it on the link I gave you, I also updated it cause it was an older version than the one i installed ^_^

Yeah it just skipped the initial setup.
I've tested YouTube, chrome, Facebook, Messenger, ig, WhatsApp, discord, Twitter, XDA app, pubg mobile, etc

It skipped the setup????? Whaaat.??? How? How did you flash the system.img? It's not normal, you should have the google pixel setup experience lol.

Sorry, I misspelled
Off late I had installed it.. AOSP, LOS and RR... all three of them and all of them booted very well.
On LOS I had flashed Gapps and Su as well and all worked well too.
Performance is really very good and I had not faced any FCs. All google apps worked well too...
The only thing I didn't like was the status bar.. Its not really optimized or tuned for the Notch and there is no option to get rid of the notch the way you can in EMUI.
The status bar with looks ugly and takes away the fun to use it phone.
Camera on the other hand is not so good and lacks the features of EMUI... e.g. beauty mode, color filters, editing, bokeh effect, etc.. etc.. and made me dissatisfied.
I am hoping that soon we will have a special tuned version for P20 Lite and holding reflashing till that time.
