Hey guys,
im using HTC-Smartphones since the Realease of the first HTC Desire HD.
Now my old HTC one m8 broke and i bought a new one from the internet.
The guy who sold it told me it was a original HTC one M8 GPE (Google Playedition) but rooted. The Bootloader tells me it is unlocked.
The Application SuperSU is installed and im getting the notifications for OTA Updates.
And here the problems start.
Whenever im trying to install on Update and my phone reboots for it im Landing on a "Team WIn recovery Project 3.0.2-0" screen and cant install the Update properly.
I uinstalled the App SuperSu by a mistake when i clicked on sth with "unroot" in the settings.
now my phone frequently crashes saying "Android-system" has been terminated (in german).
So i have these questions:
First of all: How do i find out if the M8 is really an original GPE or just flashed with a GPE Rom?
Second: Can i somehow install a completely new Version of the GPE or restore the origininal GPE stock Rom without root-Access?
PS: Sorry for my bad english. Im from germany and i wrote this in a hurry.
Kind regards.
Anyone can help me?

I'm new on the forums, and I rooted my HTC One for AT&T, have the TWRP custom recovery and flashed the Google Play Edition ROM on my phone. Now I just received the 4.3 update for my phone, now I feel if I update I will lose my root, and possibly brick my phone because my phone is not an actual Google edition and I'm sure AT&T hasn't started rolling out the update yet...any suggestions?

Hey if you have a custom rom it won't install. If you fully convert to GPE it may install. Also there is the updated rom available http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395
Thank you so much man! You're a life saver I couldn't find this forever
Hi there,
I have an international HOX+ running version 1.14.401.16 and I'd like to apply the latest updates.
When I first got the phone I dev unlocked it, rooted it and installed TWRP v2.3.3.0.
It is currently 'offering' me an update to 1.17.401.1 but I'm pretty sure this will fail to install with the non-stock recovery present...
From what I've read, I think I need to reinstall the stock recovery and (maybe) relock my device but I can't seem to find a 1.14.401.16 image anywhere?
Am I correct in my assumptions and if so, where can I get the recovery image?
Thanks in advance,
Richard.
I wouldn't bother with the update. If you EVER need to re-ruu you will find it a major pain in the ass, and there's really no plus side to updating

Afternoon all,
I'm quite new to the android scene so please forgive me if this sounds an obvious question.
I have a HTC one that has been rooted and unlocked the bootloader. I haven't flashed a custom ROM to the device i'm still using the original factory OS. I wanted to flash a google edition ROM to my device but decided against it as I was a bit of a novice with Android.
Anyway I have a software update available to me on my phone which I can't install because it it rooted, could anybody help me with how I can install this update or how I can Unroot my phone and lock the bootloader again so I can install it.
Many Thanks
Noticed that my phone did not take the OTA 4.3 update. I got to looking around and read some on converting HTC One to a Google Edition. Can someone help me understand the advantages of a GEdition phone as opposed to the ATT one? Too, is it a good ROM (I assume it will be a stock).
I'm really STUCK because I want to update my HTC One but I want to keep ROOT. I'm using Stock now, but I cannot seem to find a reliable ROM. Help help!
Thanks in advance!!

At first I really didn't like my ATT stock Sense ROM primarlily because of All that ATT crap-ware they had preinstalled.
I actually got Android 4.3 GE RUU for HTC one up and running....and...at first glance...it seemed really clean and nice! Didn't have any ATT stuff which was a big plus.
Hoping for a clean, stable, custom developer esque ROM........But I really am not a big superFan of Google for all my services...
(I use AdblockPlus on my MacbookAir, Windows XP Desktop at home, while checking my Yahoo email from my Mozilla Browser)
As of now, I ended up with Android_Revlotion HD-One_31.6 Stock ROM and have not changed for like almost a week from writing this feed.,
GPE is pure Android. If that's what you like, do it. I did it to one of my One's, and it was boring. I converted the other to the Developer Edition, and now I have Sense without all of the ATT goodness that they put on these phones. I really like it this way. Not hard to do either. You can get the Brightstar edition RUU from HTCDev. Then just make sure you either use BS__US001, or 11111111 as your CID, and relock bootloader. Since you are still on Hboot 1.44, I would certainly go S-Off before you do this, it makes it easier.
guys, so is it possible to transform my ATT HTC ONE to a GPE HTC ONE? Updates by google?

Yes, I did this and used it for about a month but I do like the sense features better.
1. Obtain S-OFF
2. Change CID to GOOGL001
3. Flash the Google Stock RUU which can be found on the XDA forums
4. Receive OTA updates.
If you need instructions to any of the steps above, google it.
Hi guys,
One question for my HTC one m7. I had trouble with my phone not being able to update being at&t locked, So I rooted the phone and installed CM12 unofficial Cynogenmod lollipop 5.0.2 and gapps, all that stuff.
I turned the phone on and it works fine but some things are missing. I don't have beats audio anymore, blink feed, Can't remove long google speech/search bar that's just below status bar and things like that.
Any suggestions? and if, please leave a link.
Many thanks

If you s-off you can RUU back to Stock
if not flash my Guru reset >> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358545274
So let's say I s-off and RUU back to stock. Will I then receive updates? at least 4.4 kit kat? Or will I again be at&t bound?
Sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm just a regular cell phone user and I did all o these things on my own. Basically I just want my phone to be free from at&t and to receive or download and install official software/updates.
Thanks
