Lollipop - suddenly fullscreen text input (white box)?! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I tap a text input field it morhps into a fullscreen white text box. This just started happening like a week ago. Historically it's always been just the keyboard popping up, with everything else looking the same.
I didn't change any settings so I'm really confused. And really, really annoyed. I can get it to work "normally" if I set Swiftkey to undocked mode, but I'd prefer not too because it makes the keyboard look ugly.
I'm running "pm disable android.com.ui" and always have (i.e before the fullscreen box started appearing), so it shouldn't be the crux, but it's worth mentioning for troubleshooting's sake I guess.
I'm rooted.
Thanks guys
EIDIT: this is swiftkey. Other keyboards aren't doing this

Quick Q&A Problem

So I rooted my Atrix the other day and it's now running version 1.57. Everything is running smoothly expect for 2 things. First, the text messaging. When I receive a text, I'll be notified, but I'll go to the default app and it'll just be an orange circle rotating like it's trying to load. I figured it might just be the app so I installed Handcent and GO SMS Pro...same thing...my notifications will pop up, but when I go to my inbox or to a list of my previous texts I received, NOTHING IS THERE. How in the world do I fix this? I tried looking for a "Default Application" setting thinking that maybe I can clear the default one that came with the phone, maybe that's the issue, but I have no idea where or how to change that setting. The customization I once had on the Android OS seems to be gone.
Also, when I installed the ADW Launcher, I noticed it gave me a completely new keyboard, which is fine and all, but the default keyboard that came with the Atrix would actually rotate with the screen and become bigger if you turned the Atrix sideways...I'm trying to figure out how to get it back or change this setting as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

[Q] Browser cursor problem?

I'm running Galaxy Task 14 Slim on my Tab and in the browser (only place where I've noticed it) the cursor (blinking line to input text) won't show up anywhere expect the adress bar. I can still input text but dont see where I'm typing. I'm assuming this is due to the white text field not showing the white cursor. Has anyone else noticed this or has a fix for this problem. I am also using the stock HC keyboard. Thanks!!!
I've noticed the same thing and just never figured it as a "problem".
I use a slide-it keyboard mostly so it happens on other keyboards too.
I only have the cursor not show in some places so it's just those apps with the problem. Like you said white on white is a real possibility.
Thanks for the reply, wanted to make sure it wasn't just me experiencing this. I mean its not a huge deal but its just weird editing text and filling out forms without it.
yeah it's annoying when it happens. find myself clicking in boxes I'm already in. Quite often a few times before I remember the problem. LOL

[Q] Swiftkey 3, Landscape, CM9/ICS

So I was wondering if anyone is using the Swiftkey 3 series keyboard on the HP TouchPad w/CM9/ICS. I ask because I recently started using the tablet more in landscape than in portrait mode and have noticed a very annoying "bug". While I know Swiftkey makes its own predictions, ICS also has a built-in spell checker - words that it thinks are incorrect appear underlined in red. When I am in portrait mode, if I were to do a press and choose a suggestion it would then be populated into the body of the text I am typing - basically making the substitution for me. When in landscape however it does all of that except the actual substitution - nothing happens when you return to where you were typing - the word is as it was originally and still underlined in red. Can anyone else confirm this? It happens to me in Tapatalk as well as other apps - but only in landscape mode.
Unrelated (but since I am talking about Swiftkey), and also annoying is that when in landscape a huge white typing area opens (it does not do this in porttrait) which usually results in not being able to see the majority of the screen while typing) which is especially bad on web pages. I believe it does this on ICS and GB - it's a landscape thing... Has anyone found a way to change that to make it look like when you type in portrait?
I'm using Swiftkey 3 on both my phone and tablet and I have to say that the tablet version especially needs some help in the customization and functionality department.
In GMail it did substitute the word but in Tapatalk it did not. I find it odd that this only happens in landscape orientation.

Is the samsung keyboard autocorrect the most annoying feature ever in a keyboard?

I just typed "dill" in my shopping list, and when I hit space, it magically changed to "fill"
Fortunately I was able to find the settings icon on the keyboard and figure out how to turn it off. This was about the umpteenth time something like this happened to me, but I wasn't absolutely sure it was the keyboard doing it till now. Hopefully it will stop now. If not, I guess I'll switch to the google keyboard.
Are there more annoying features I haven't run into yet?
If you want your keyboard to recognize the word dill, you have to click on dill when it shows at the top of keyboard then it should recognize it.

Buttons disappear from navigation bar

I get this randomly. It seems to happen the most when I have SwiftKey open and it always happens when I search within the app drawer. I switched launchers (tried lawn chair and rootless pixel) and I see the same thing.
The buttons are there, I can click them but they just vanish and it looks horrible.
Pic attached.
I guess I should also say that enabling full screen gestures works around this but that has its own set of problems for me, namely that I keep missing the space bar when using the keyboard and that the back gesture doesn't scale up from the keyboard so I keep going back when swiping.
Edit: I've confirmed that the problem is Swiftkey. The default Google keyboard doesn't have this problem but it isn't nearly as good. It'll do for now I guess...
I have the same issue. I tried installing navbar apps, but it doesn't work. Is there any way to set gboard to add a space automatically after a period or a comma? One of the many tine differences I prefer SwiftKey over Gboard, but this navbar bug is making me make the switch.
