Anyone know how the Pixel will do with third party but high quality chargers such as Anker or Choetech?
I don't think anyone will have concrete evidence until we get to try it out. I would assume if it works with the 5x/6p it should be the same.

Google has a usb-pd belkin car charger on their website and recommends it for the pixel, so it should be compatible. I would expect that any charger that supports usb-pd will work

USB power delivery. It's the standard that the pixel uses for quick charging.
http://www.usb.org/developers/powerdelivery/
If you don't have the right cable and charger, the phone could draw too much power and kill the usb port or burn out the charger. If you use a quality cable, you should be fine even for old chargers, just won't charge as fast

I believe QC3 chargers will work on this device. I can rapid charge my Pixel C with a QC3 charger, at 5v3a. QC3 also supports the 9v2a charge that these phones need.
Of course I will test and update when I receive it, but if its anything like the Pixel C tablet, it will work.
As for the cables, anything on amazon with 4-5 stars will probably be up to spec. You are looking to make sure it has a 56k Ohm Resistor
There was a bunch of drama last year. Even cables with the right resistor wound up potentially being incompatible

Yea this is really flipping confusing. Why all the drama? I have a bunch of Choetech cables and a charger that Jensen has previously said are safe but how do I know if they are safe with THIS phone if he hasn't explicitly tested?

Bump. While I will pick up some of the recommended cables from Bensen, I have a ton of these floating around. So my questions...
1) Are these SAFE with the Pixel?
2) Does it matter what charger is on the other side for safety?
I have a coupon from HTC for their accessories was thinking of picking up a couple of the USB A to C cables
would that be safe?

So the cheapest power brick that gets a 3 and charges at full power is $35 from Google. The only car charger that has a 3 and charges at full power is from Belkin/Google, coming soon at $45. There are no battery packs that receive a 3 and charge at full power. Sheesh. This kind of sucks right now.

In about two hours of charging I went from 8% to 41%. Is anyone else experienceing this issue? I'm using all the cords and plugs given to me for the wall.
I don't have the SGS3 (yet), but my guess is that the battery is so large it takes longer to charge. Keep in mind that it's a 2100MaH battery. Depending on the power that the charger puts out, it could take longer to charge this battery than another phone.
Mine charges fairly quick with stock items.

I agree, the first few cycles might not be too accurate. If you want a faster charger get the HP Touchpad charger, it has 2 amps where as the Samsung one is .75 amps of charging. only $5 on hp website. that's what I use.

I'm surprised no one has posted the correct answer to this yet. The wall charger Samsung has decided to include with the S3 NA is complete and utter crap. I believe it is .15amp draw. You need to immediately throw it in the trash and buy a new one. It is not a problem with your phone.

My Samsung Charger that came with the phone is 1Amp...charges the device fine. I don't think the 2Amps will make a difference if the charging chip doesn't support it (not saying it doesn't but the SGSII would only charge at 650maH no matter what charger you put it on)
Mine's charging insanely fast with the stock cable. Not sure if it's a good thing because battery life isn't all that amazing on my phone so far.

doesn't that mean each USB port is 0.5 amps?
Anyways if I'm not wrong the amps has to do with what it can supply. Whether the device tries to draw that much power is up to the device.
The stock charger is 5V 1amp.
Even if you use a 2 amp charger it will likely only draw one amp.
Even if it does draw 2 amps that would mean you are increasing the heat associated with more current. Heat is the worst thing for battery life. Its always better to do slow charge unless you're in a hurry. Your battery will last a lot longer that way. Having said that, I think 1 amp is a good compromise for speed and heat.
p.s. computers output 0.5amps per USB slot by default specifications.

I got two of those a week or so ago myself from eBay (same model charger ETA-U90JWE, different seller, etc.) and can confirm that they QuickCharge. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews on Amazon.com that there are knockoffs of the same model that perform poorly but I guess I got lucky.
Those that have it -- does the USB cable work with the original charger too? and with other 2amp chargers (like my car charger)? I always leave a AC charger in my car just in case, but if it's going to take 5 hours to charge my phone, it becomes pretty pointless unless I'm staying overnight somewhere.

Here is one I ordered from Amazon, it arrived today.
http://www.amazon.com/reVOLT-c2-Dua...=1384487213&sr=8-3&keywords=scosche+revolt+c2
I just tested it: I have a 110v wall plug to cigarette charger socket adapter. Plugged my old cig charger into it, used the white usb cables I described in a previous post in this thread, and got slow charge message. Then I took out that old cig charger and plugged in the new Scosche reVolt c2, used the same cable and got no slow charge message. Watched it for 2 minutes and it went up 2% (so I consider that QuickCharge).
Thanks

Weird. This thing is picky. The usb cable with my 2.0a csr charger charges at around 900mha, but plugged in using the samsung ac adapter it slow charges at 30mha... but once in awhile it goes at 800 to 900
Thanks smacklayer - I bought one just like yours on eBay.
One has to be careful not to get a gray market knock-off, but it's hard to tell exactly. Even on Amazon, there are lots of complaints of chargers that appear to be OEM but aren't.
BTW: how does one tell if their G2 is NOT "fast charging"? Is there some indication?
I have a PowerGen 2A car charger with usb cable that I purchased a year ago for my N7. I plugged my G2 in the other day and I didn't see any visual cues that something was "slow charging" and it appeared to charge just as fast as the LG G2-supplied charger. So, I've been wondering about a "fast" or "slow" charging indicator.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

If you want to use quick charger that's fine with me. My anker charger is pretty quick as is. I've heard that quick charging may eventually hurt battery life in the long run, so I choose not to use it. I don't need quick charge because I don't even use my phone a whole lot to begin with and rarely go below 60%. Plus, I have a charger handy wherever I am. (car/work/home/portable charger)
I have the Qualcomm one off of Amazon and I honestly believe that it charges quicker.
I bought a slightly used nexus 6 that didn't come with the original motorola turbo charger.
What charger is better?
The samsung galaxy note 4 orginal charger or htc's quickcharger?

You can use the magnetic charger with a quick charge charger or any other charger and it will be fine.
I'm using a Samsung Fast Charger and have no issues, the device still charges full overnight and it's pretty quick, just not as quick as the OEM set up.
Ok I still have a quick charger from my Nexus 6, but don't know how it has scaled throughout the years in terms of what's considered "quick".
I used more then one year magnetic cable from Wsken on OP 5T. It has only charge, no data. And I have no issue, heating, damages. But in this case I don't have a supercharge. I have charge current about 1.3- 1.4 ampers.

If you use just the cable and not the OEM block it doesn't cause heating issues, I get heating issues if I use the OEM block with the wsken cable. It happens periodically so not sure what causes it.
If you use the Wsken mini2 +j OnePlus cable + wsken adapter dash charge will work. So will data transmission.
I'm using the PZOZ ones I got off AliExpress, link. I have them from my LG V20 days, and no issues with it - using the same cables across my mouse, portable battery, ipad, and phone.
They have an upgraded version here, but I have not needed them yet as the current ones charges my 6T as quick as it should.

Ok I still have a quick charger from my Nexus 6, but don't know how it has scaled throughout the years in terms of what's considered "quick".

I have THE EXACT SAME charger from my Nexus 6 and I've been using it and a 10ft Anker type-c cable for my last 4 phones ?

I'm using the PZOZ ones I got off AliExpress, link. I have them from my LG V20 days, and no issues with it - using the same cables across my mouse, portable battery, ipad, and phone.

So you're basically saying that you got magnetic Dash Charge with this cables? Can you provide specs?

well, i don't have any exact specs or accurate data, all the specs i have are as per the weblink. the new version supports up to 5A. for me, the older version which i have supports up to 2.1A i think but works well for me. no fires or any hazards so far.
I don't think there is a dash charge wireless. All wireless chargers are slow, for now..
