I had originally 2.3 GB. But i thought that upgrading things is good so i upgraded(official) to 4.0. But like the video mentions, there were lag issues. There is also a link to another video down below. I did that too.
So basically, i am 100% sure that my bootloader is unlocked, Now, acc. to the video, when I click on the bolt, there should be a firmware appearing in the list. But there isn't. I tried the 64 and 32 bit versions of flashtool, and also re-downloaded the 2.3 firmware from the xda developer forum. I have tried everything i could. I also ran the flashtool drivers.exe in the folder and downloaded flashboot etc etc drivers (see the 2nd video from 3:14 ; I have a xperia u). On googling, i found this :-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/issues/ftf-file-seen-flashtool-please-help-t1850176
Bingo. Exactly the same problem, except i have a xperia u instead of p. And the problem isnt solved. The first solution was to check whether bootloader is locked or not. 100% sure it aint. My file was downlaoded ON IT'S OWN in .ftf format. I didnt extract it, or renamed it. Here is where i downloaded it from(1st link):-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...f-xperia-stock-generic-gb-firmware-6-t2376438
Flashtool didnt allow me to drag onto it. And obviously i have the firmware pasted in the firmware folder.
Whats interesting is the last answer. here the person asks whether the "X10 that is installed with flashedtool shows in the list?" I=Even that doesnt show in mine. There is a jar file called "x10flasher.jar". But i dont know waht to do with it. I run everything on admin access.
How to work around this??
Are you with version 0.9.22.3 or higher of Flashtool?
You must install version 0.9.18.6 of Flashtool, so that it recognizes old FTF files.
Download here
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
After a while of having the same issues, I came around a simple solution.
Things you will need:
- 7zip (not sure if WinRAR or others can handle well the compression for .ftf files)
- A basic text editor such as Notepad
What you have to do, in order to get them recognized in the newer versions of Flashtool, is to edit a manifest file, within a folder with the same name.
1. Download and install 7zip
2. Open the .ftf with 7zip (Right click > Open with; you might have to click "Look for a program in my computer" or something like that.
3. Extract ONLY the MANIFEST.MF file from the META-INF folder. Do not close 7zip
4. Edit this file in Notepad (open a window and drag the file to it). Erase the "Sony Xperia" (leave only the LT22i) part on the "device" line. If you see a number in the "branding" line, swap it around with whatever is on the "version" line.
6. Save the edited MANIFEST.MF
7. Drag it onto the META-INF folder in the 7zip window that I told you not to close.
8. Close 7zip and try again.

sorry super senior...
i was try but.. it never work..
i use convert tool..
i have read previous comment..
* 1 - Download Converttool
* 2 - For simplicity, extract it to your C: Folder
* 3 - Go to C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270(this number may be different)\blob_fs and sort the files in size order. (this is presuming you have already got SEUS installed [on your c drive] and have already used it to flash your phone with the firmware you are wanting to decrypt).
* 4 - Copy the three largest files (one is around 145MB, one is around 15MB and one is 57kb) and paste them directly into the Converttool folder that you extracted earlier.
* 5 - You should now have three files in your Converttool folder in the format "FILE_XXXXXXXXX" (mine are called FILE_277668258, FILE_277660897 and FILE_277196791)
* 6 - Open up the 'Run...' command in windows and type the following :
C:\ConvertTool\SeusDecrypt.bat FILE_XXXXXXXXX (replace FILE_XXXXXXXXX with the name of your largest FILE - mine is FILE_277668258 so I would type C:\ConvertTool\SeusDecrypt.bat FILE_277668258)
* 7 - Press Enter, wait a moment and you should have a compressed folder with the same name as you have just entered but with the extension ".tgz" within the Converttool folder.
* 8 - Repeat step 6 then 7 but replace the text FILE_XXXXXXXXX to the name of your second largest FILE.
* 9 - Repeat step 6 then 7 but replace the text FILE_XXXXXXXXX to the name of your smallest FILE(this bit is optional really)
* 10 - Now extract the largest ".tgz" file USING 7-Zip BECAUSE WINRAR WILL REPORT THE ARCHIVE AS CORRUPT!!!!! then you will get another compressed folder, this time in the format ".tar"
* 11 - Extract the second largest ".tgz" file USING 7-Zip BECAUSE WINRAR WILL REPORT THE ARCHIVE AS CORRUPT!!!!!
* 12 - Extract the smallest ".tgz" file USING 7-Zip BECAUSE WINRAR WILL REPORT THE ARCHIVE AS CORRUPT!!!!!
* 13 - Extract the largest ".tar" file (this time you can use winrar if you want ;-p)
* 14 - Extract the second largest ".tar" file (this time you can use winrar if you want ;-p)
* 15 - RENAME the smallest ".tar" file as "loader.sin"
* 16 - THATS IT! you should now have extracted all the files you need. The steps with the smallest file are optional because Bin4ry has included the "loader.sin" files with flashtool anyway. Very last thing, before using the files with flashtool they will all need renaming eg. from "kernel_S1-SW-LIVE-AC12-0001-S1-PARTITION.sin" to just "kernel.sin" etc.
im stuck at step no 6..
please guide me...
this db my file
I do not think this procedure has been updated to reflect latest SEUS and PC Companion. They do not leave the larger files in the db\13740270\blob_fs folder. The largest I have is 10kb after the SEUS repair.

Ok, what are the names of your 3 files?
Edit: I have downloaded your files, they are named as follows:
FILE_277441866, FILE_277410324 and FILE_277196791.
so you need to open the "Run..." command and type into it :- C:\ConvertTool\SeusDecrypt.bat FILE_277441866
then repeat for the two other files.(eg. C:\ConvertTool\SeusDecrypt.bat FILE_277410324 and then C:\ConvertTool\SeusDecrypt.bat FILE_277196791)

Well... I wanted to make my own modded version of the stock X10 mini lockscreen. I like the design of the stock but it doesn´t match the theme I´m using. So with a lot of help from dj_deez and draco_ag I made my own mod.
This is what I did: I made a backup of my "framework-res.apk" with Root Explorer and copied it to my SD. I connected to my PC and moved the file to a folder on my PC. For safety I made another backup of the file once on the PC and put it away for safe keeping.
I opened my "framework-res.apk" with 7zip (ONLY 7zip!!!) and navigated to the folder "res/drawable-ldpi" and left it open. In a explorer window I had the folder open with the modded files corresponding to the "res/drawable-ldpi". I dragged and dropped the files into the open 7zip window and answered YES. In 7zip I went back to the "res"-folder and opened "drawable-land.ldpi". There I dropped the files in my corresponding folder on my PC and answered YES. To be sure I backed up in 7zip until I was back to the root of the "framework-res.apk" and then closed 7zip.
For me the safest way to get the modded "framework-res.apk" to the phone was to download the theme I was using and open it with 7zip. There I replaced the "framework-res.apk" the same way as above and then used xRecovery to "flash" it to the phone. For me this was the only way. How You do it is up to you!
It has been mentioned before... ONLY USE IF YOU KNOW HOW!!!! I had to get help to understand this... so I can´t give any support myself!
RAR contains resources (png´s) ONLY.
All credits go to "dj_deez"" for helping me and to "draco_ag" for giving me the original sliders to play with.

Hi,
As the new ICS 4.0.3 seems to have gotten rid of the libraries required for call recording, I am willing to extract the relevant libraries from a 2.3.6 ROM, replace and give it a shot. I already have a few of them with me, for example Official DXKL3.
I need to extract the following 3 files -
system/lib/libaudiopolicy.so
system/lib/libaudioflinger.so
system/lib/libaudio.so
How can I extract these files from a ROM?
On you pc or on you phone click extract here. And will be exctracted about 6 files. Navigate to system app and find wht app you want. Copy and replace. I guess I understood right what you mean.
Get a utility program like 7Zip, IZarc, WinRar on your PC & open up the zip/tarfile & you can see the individual files & extract same.
However...
What you're attempting to do will not work. Different framework.
Points for thinking outside the box tho.
Thanks... Though when I use 7z, it only extracts zImage, factoryfs, etc., only a handful of files. I cannot see the individual files in the file system. Also 7z cannot extract these files anymore...
Ahh I think I was talking about already "cooked" ROM, and you guys are talking about the source? Sorry I am very new to the terminologies used. If that is the case I will check if I can find these files in the source tarball.
Try another program if 7Zip doesn't work. Try IZarc. I can see every file in the roms I have with it.

Solution
Hey there!
I had the same problem (just wanted to retrieve my Contacts) and managed to get them. In the following I will explain how. This method probably works with backups from other mobiles made with Sony PC Companion too.
I got the same problem (also only fullbackupdata), after rooting my mobile and not thinking of the problem, that it might not be able to restore the contacts.
Here's what I found out: I couldn't find anything with Google, so I decided to just look at the data of the file. It starts with:
ANDROID BACKUP
1
1
none
I did some Googeling again and found out, that it is the same file like an ICs created adb backup.
I also found a project to retrieve Data from backups: ht tp s: //github.c om/nelenkov/android-backup-extractor
HOW YOU CAN RESTORE YOUR DATA:
Get your Fullbackupdata-Contactfile.
1. First go to your backupfile: (C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Sony\Sony PC Companion\SomeNameDependsOnLanguage\
2. Make a Copy of your backup-File (crtl+c, crtl+v)
3. We want to change the file extension, so make sure you see it. If you don't see a .dbk at the end of your file, go in the explorer window in the left upper corner on organise -> Folder and search options. Change to view and then deselect "Hide extensions for known File types"
ht tp://kb.winzip.com/kb_upload/image/folder_options2.png
4. Rename (F2) the file to backup.zip
5. Open the zip with 7zip or something similar.
6. Navigate to Applications\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport and get the fullbackupdata file which is lying in this folder.
7. Put this file on your Desktop.
8.Download this jar-File: ht tp: //ge.t t/64TJmne/v/0?c
9. Put the .jarFile also on your desktop.
10. Doubleclick the .jar-File. After a few seconds a new file with the name "restore.tar" should show up (If not check if your fullbackupdata-File really has the name "fullbackupdata" and is on the desktop)
11. Open the .tarfile with 7Zip
12. Navigate to restore.tar\apps\com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport\f\
13. Copy full_backup_vcard.vcf to the Desktop.
If everything worked you're finished, you can open this .vcf File via Windows-contacts -> import or put it directly on your phone and import it there (open Contacts. Settingsbutton -> impot)
If you don't trust my .jar file, you can also download the github-project follow their orders and compile it yourself.
I hope this helped also other people. It took me quite a while, so I thought I should share my solution.

Hm seems like you have an other phone configuration than me...
I tested it with Sony Xperia Go with android Version 4.0.4.
Try googeling in which directory your Contacts are stored, than open with my jar file this file and you should be good to go.

If you can't manage to do it, you could also send me your file if you want to ( send (at) johannesdeml.com).

Well that is not a lot of information. Probably you have a problem with your java installation. Try to run the program with the commandline to get more information. Therefore run the command "java -jar restoreData.jar" in the folder where the jar lies.
As most of us know, 7-zip is an extremely helpful tool for modders. We can just open a ROM archive and drag our mods into it. I didn't have an Android device for a while (maybe 6 months) and during that time I built a new computer. I installed Windows 7 64-bit like I have in the past, installed all of my programs, and installed the 64-bit version of 7-zip. But, for whatever reason, even if I enable "integrate 7-Zip to shell context menu" it never shows up in the context menu. Furthermore, I can only "open with" 7-zip File Manager and when I try to drag something into an archive, I get an error:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I can't figure out why 7-Zip isn't functioning the way it used to. Did the software change or something?
UPDATE: I used a program to edit things like context menus, desktop shortcut icons, start menu hacks, etc. and it screwed things up. If I find the name of the program I'll put it here unless this thread gets deleted.

Run 7zip file manager as admin then enable the context menu.
The error you are getting is because the creator of the file chose to create two files with the same name but different case. As you might know Windows treat them the same. 7zip is apparently doing the same. Try another zip file?

Thanks, but I tried this already. I even stated in my post that I tried this.
The error you are getting is because the creator of the file chose to create two files with the same name but different case. As you might know Windows treat them the same. 7zip is apparently doing the same. Try another zip file?

I tried three different zip files. Unfortunately, it still happens.
