I was wondering if someone can tell me if I bring my eris to metroPCS to flash what do they flash? a custom rom? are the changes permanent?
They use a software called houdini to change your eris' internal software to run on the metro pcs network. The only way to ruin those settings is to select the "factory reset" option in the phone. I have my eris on metro and I love it! You can also get the web on the phone too...

If you root the phone then you can put a custom rom as well as put the web on the phone. If you need help I can get you started because it is so easy a caveman can do it.

I already have my phone rooted. Do I need to remove my custom Rom before they flash? Also just bring it in any metropcs store?
Just have them flash it then make sure for good effort to check if you have superuser access. If not then root and put the rom back on

I flashed my phone using Fusionideos 2.7 and now I have no mobile network. Ive tried entering the SPC and nothing happens. Im trying to reprogram the service and can't find a way to enter my MDN, MIN, PRL, to get my metro pcs service back. If any one happens to have an idea of what to enter to get to these or might have a Metro PCS stock rom for Huawei m835 i can flash back too it'll be highly appreciated. Ill even deal with a backup image of someone running FusionIdeos that is connected to the MetroPCS network.
Okay so I figured out how to get it back all I did was flash a higher firmware like gingerman 2.3 and then flashed to dronix which runs android 2.2.1 and that was it

i cannot even get to the homescreen...i tried flashing yay's .sbf file but still nothing...what file do i need to flash to go back to stock? or will that even fix it?
Yoi should post in that thread. More information would also be helful such as rooted or not etc.

You'd have to have the stock SBF file to flash back to stock. I think Yay had it in one of his threads.
rooted, unlocked, and running homebase 2.1 with the 4.3 update when it started...now im on yay's newest .sbf update....still no change...i dont know how to do a hard reset without being able to access the settings menu on the phone...it doesnt even load to the home screen...just stays "contacting network"...i do have a signal..

What recovery have you got now if you've flashed the latest sbf? Clockwork or stock?
If stock follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267740
If Clockwork recovery then get into it and clear all user data/factory reset

SBF has not been working for myself and many other xda members... how can you use sbf to solve the problem if it won't work??? Has anyone successfully used it on the Photon? I am familiar with SBFing, but not on the photon... I know that it is the same, but it could be faulty sbf files... anyone have any tips?
The same problem
I have the same problem. I use my Photon in Russia with gsm sim card. At first everything was fine, the phone was looking Sprint's network for a long time, then gave an error that "can not be activated", and loaded on (works fine). But now, always looking for the network. And do nothing. Wipe and flashing other roms do not help.
Any ideas?

did you relock the bootloader in fastboot or by flashing the sbf file?
What file are you using to relock the bootloader via fastboot? The lock file is an sbf and has to been done via RSD.

I figured out hot to get over contacting network... just power and vol down and select Boot-Android (no BP) this will boot you up with no modem, so activation fails, select airplane mode, restart.
When it restarts it will say that the handsfree activation cannot be done with airplane mode on, just hit ok and move on.
When you get into the homescreen just turn off airplane mode. so everything is on now. the last things i need are the settings to get this working with 3g now, because i can get voice and 4g to work.
If 3g doesn't authentificate you cannot update your profile, therefor no 3g data and if you start a profile update you will get into the same loop of Contacting Network...
Also in RSD Lite my phone has a nice field that says:
Phone Type: Engineering (0000000000000000000000000000).. check the attachement

At this point, let me know what you wanna try i am about to trow this phone away. lol
If you can get the file to lock via fastboot I can see about keeping the oc kernel.

that's not the issue. the issues is that it isn't authentication with the 3g, 4g works, voice works.
I need to make it authentificate with the network so i can update the profile and PRL. My PRL is 51079.
Can anyone post the 51082 prl. I want to see if that does anything.
I hate to do this but a real fix is to call sprint and ask for
Msl
Esn
Min
data profile username and password
Then go to dialer
type ##data#
Edit accordingly
Reboot
update msl
Update profile

I had the same problem till I ditched TWRP for CWM. My I717 seems to like ClockworkMod better. Just couldn't get TWRP to flash the modem correctly. *#06# will give you the "Null Null" IMEI message if you have the same problem as me. Use Kies to recover and initialize the device, its under "Tools". When done you will be on JB with proper IMEI. Flash CWM through odin and go from there.
**EDIT**
Turns out that the problem I was having might have been because of outdated modem files. The issue is resolved for me with the modems at the following link. 4g lte has never been this fast before these drivers. Fast and stable, be sure to give the OP a thank you.

I've been having the same issue. I started with Stock, went to CWM ver 6, CM 10.1. Decided to flash a modem, and then it would say unknown baseband / no phone number / no IMEI. After trying many modems and restores, I have restored through KIES back to factory as of now.
If anyone has an idea, it would be appreciated.
I live in Florida the only way I get 4g LTE is with stock modem...I used to have the same issue...so I just keep it stock...

no need to do anything.just go to app setting ...running ..you will see ''sim'' app running just close it and restart your phone it will show your imei ...n baseband all....
right now my friend is using her verizon note 2 on Tmobile, just popping the sim and changing the APN makes it work great on Edge and 4G but it is stuck on the stock verizon rom and the backup program that verizon put on there keeps eating the battery even thought the app is off (went into settings and turned sync off),
she is on the most up to date software and can't root with out safestrap, but i am just wondering if there is a way to flash the stock Tmobile rom (just the rom no modems or anything) thru Odin? we just want all the verizon stuff gone to make it more of a tmobile phone.

Well there is no way to flash a T mobile firmware throught ODIN.. Unless you want a paper weight. Flashing another bootloader from another device is a very good way to make the phone not usable.
You can port a Custom T mobile rom but why go through all that to just get rid of some system apps. Just go into your system/app and priv-apps and delete the Verizon apps.
ba-syncservice-app-signed.apk is the app your looking for to disable sync function..
But I thought I had to have root to edit the system folder?

You do.. Sorry might have misread.. If you are not rooted than you can not change this.. Only way to turn sync off would be to go into stock recovery and do a factory reset.. When you load back up make sure that you UNCLICK "sync" Contacts..

What does this mean????
If she is on 4.3 than she is able to root her phone.. You saying safestrap and the latest software throws me for a loop.. The latest software is ND7 4.4.2 and there is no way to root this.. therefore no safestrap either..
Just making sure you know that root and a unlocked bootloader is to different things.. Safestrap requires root but not a unlocked bootloader..
Ok
