Hi, i own a xperia xa f3113 i was forced to place a comment in this forum because as user of a xperia xa, our forums are dead actually, no development or support from users or something like tha.
This will be my first time creating an ftf file, i already created one ftf following some crappy tutorial and ended up hard bricking my xperia xa, i went to my carrier and played as fool. And they gave a new one, but i still want to flash the latest firmware that bring so many corrections an solves mny issues with battery draining. So can anybody tell secure path to create a correct ftf file?

If you have already bricked one, you'd be better off waiting for the update to arrive(next time you might not be able to get it replaced) nearly all the regions have been released for 33.2.A.3.81 and 33.2.A.2.93 has good battery life anyway. The xa forum is far from dead and we have a great guy who has prepared root packs for all the xa models including the ultra and xa models he doesn't own, he's also trying to compile cm for the xa.
If you must use flashtool only leave out simlock.ta part of the ftf(Inc this will hard brick it only Sony can fix it) and ONLY USE flashtool in simple mode

Actually i excluded all .Ta files but hard bricked my phone anyway. So i dont know what was wrong with the procedure.

Hello, folks.
At first, sorry for my bad English.
I have an Xperia Neo V (MT11a), and I figured out that changing the build.prop file to make my phone "pretend" to be a MT11i would make my phone able to play some HD games. And yeah, it works. But I am having some issues on some games (specially Modern Combat 3) that I suspect that should end by upgrading my firmware.
So, as I am seeing now by reading the forum threads, it seems that my firmware version is quite old (4.0.1.A.0.283, running Android 2.3.4).
I really searched the forum about how to upgrade my firmware, but all threads I faced stated that having the 4.0.2.A.0.42 is a primary requirement; I didn't find a thread about upgrading from 4.0.1.A.0.283 to a newer one.
So, how can I upgrade my firmware? Because, here in Brazil, PC Companion always reports that my phone is up to date (but we know that it is not!).
Waiting for an answer, and thanks in advance.

(can't post URL cause i'm using only my phone)

If i helped tou!! Pls press thanks button..)))

Then you gotta use flashtool, read flash tool guide on the link down
[FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies - G-FACE GUIDE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10879507#post10879507
Then use the link down to download 0.42 ftf file and flash with flashtool, backup everything like contacts, apps, sms etc... before flashing as you will loose everything in the phone and after the flash it will be like brand new from the factory.
Link for 4.0.2.A.0.42 fw

I agree, it's the same situation in Croatia, the updates come a bit later so you will have to flash it manually. I tried both and got no updates for .62 i think.
Actually...the newbies(i wont use noobies...it sounds kinda offensive) are a bit scared to tinker upon their new phones...they do search...but rely upon the seniors for assurance...but it is a boring task to answer again and again same type of queries.

I had the same problem with my MT15i but one day crossed my fingers and used Wotan. If you are afraid about command lines and other stuff like I was before I suggest you try wotan, it's very intuitive and simple.
Hello ive run into a serious issue and have flashed a FTF of the xperia go st27i JELLYBEAN and ive lost the ability to use the internet now since the frequency is different. can anyone please post or send me the original st27A unlocked stock FTF. SuS wont even work for me anymore because of the mismatched firmware it just always says its up to date and when i try to hit repair it says theres no available firmware for my device.
i have also realized that my touchscreen is really laggy and takes several presses for it to work or to press letters in a text message.
Thankyou for your time and i hope someone can help me.

i think you can edit your "build.prop" file in "System/" with root explorer f.e to Sus recognize your phone to St25a & then repair with Sus
only you need the SI number & other from which you want to download ,

Ok lets reopen this thread I need this ftf, to see if I'm able too fix a problem that appeared flashing some custom Rom in here, low (too low) volume on in calls. Dumb from my part I didn't make a backup ftf from my Stock Rom, so I want to rinstall the ftf that you can provide (The ICS luckily and specifically the U.S. Customization) using flash tool and then root to modify the build.prop (change SI numbers values), unroot and then see if, luckily (again) in able to get the PC Companion to repair by downloading the U.S. Stock Rom for the Xperia Advance. and see if the volume of in calls is fixed. Please devs, help me. Thanks

Wrong place, technically the same but they run different firmware no's so no good for the normal xa and multiple repeat questions in different threads/forums is called spamming and a also against xda rules I do believe I've answered your question already

It is not the same, dude. I got three devices, X, XA and XA ultra. I am asking for all devices for safety because my friend bricked his XA ultra by flashing with flashtool.

Flashing a device is never fully safe, not only on phones. You will always see warnings about that. Read https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brick_(electronics)
I know the term. There are two types, soft brick and hard brick. I have flashed over hundred xperia devices with flashtool and got never hard bricked. I just want to know the experience of flashing new Xperia X series cuz XA and XAU are MTK devices.

A messages for bricked phones with void warranty, did you tried to open the device and remove the battery for flashing? You can see around the Web that's a solution to unbrick some MTK devices.

I think that there is a dangerous problem with Flashtool and XA Ultra. I flashed many times my XA without problems (upgrade and downgrade) too. As you can see I opened 2 threads to centralize bricked devices to confirm that. I hope that unlucky users will reply on them to help us understanding the origin of the problem.
Anyone asked the author of Flashtool?
My situation is that after rooting, my front camera just stopped focusing, and i also noticed that the app crashes when it need to adjust the exposure (if i bring the phone to a more bright enviroment), so i believed that using the Xperia companion "repair software" option would unroot my phone and lock the bootloader again, but surprise! I just recently saw on a sony support page that Xperia companion doesn´t works with modified devices, so i don´t know what to do in order to restore my XA ultra to verify if the root was the cause of the front camera stopped working

Sorry for my bad english, greetings from México!
I got same issue as you (mine f3216)..don't worry, you just need to reflash stock firmware by latest flashtool..make sure you exclude all .ta file before flash stock firmware.
I found this issue and make an experiment and i believe this problem exist after flash boot.img...we need help from rrvuhpg to compile boot.img from latest firmware..
Btw, now my f3216 hard bricked when i downgrade fw..i sent to sony..waiting my dead f3216 live..huhu
So if I exclude all the.ta files before flashing my XA won't hard brick? I don't want to take the risk of going into a hard brick, the Sony team here on Mexico is a mess
