I am wondering where is the option to encrypt the SD card in Android 6.0.
I have already encrypted the internal storage of my phone, but no option
to do so with the SD card as well :-/
Please kindly suggest what to do.

I have Spice Dream Uno (Android one device) running Android M. I have some queries related to using SD card as internal storage.
I have Samsung EVO+ 32 GB card.
Now here's my question.
If i use sd card as internal then it says it would work only in this device one.
Now after i did it i used sd card adapter to transfer my files, but it didn't worked it asked me format my sd card.
So at this point i think its the best to have secure storage.
I only transfer files via usb cable(No problem at this).
Now,
1) If i do factory reset will this card still work on my device or do i have to format it by loosing all data ?
2) If i flash custom ROM MM based will the card and files still remain the same ?
This would be interesting for me, too.
On my Lenovo A7000, a recent firmware update says that I can update to Marshmallow 6.0
I want to update but there was a message in red that I'm wary about.

What course of action should I take?
My default write is my SD card
I previously moved all my photos and videos to my SD card.
Should I backup both my internal storage and SD card or just my SD card?
Are there any other steps I'm missing?
Hi, I formatted my SanDisk 16gb card as Internal Storage for my Android Marshmallow 6.0 Moto G 2nd Gen XT1068 *rooted* device. So far so good, the problem is that my phone was failing really bad yesterday not sure why, it won't move files from internal to the sd card so it was running out of space and the whole system started failing. I was not able to backup my SD card neither, because my developer options were blocked so no USB debugging available., I tried everything I found online, from stoping removing cache from Media internal app and some others, etc, and nothing worked.
So I decided to restore my phone to stock.
I did this and now it works fine, however it does not recognize my SD card (because it was formatted as internal storage with the "previous" device) so now I have a 16gb SD Card (4GB occupied) inaccessible to make a backup.
Is there a way to gain access to this SD card so I can move out all the files I've in there so I can format it again as internal storage?

So, I'm using a Huawei P20 Lite (it's running Android 8.1 Oreo) and I would like to have my micro sd card be used as internal memory. Now I will mention this I have tried adbshell and have received the message Error:java,lang.IllegalStateException: Adoptable storage not available on device with native FBE when i do the part sm set-force-adoptable true
Is there anyway to fix this? I don't wanna root this phone. I've done hours of searching but have come up with no results....I just wanna use my microsd as internal storage Thank you to everyone for any help I get.

hi, so i want to know if its possible to recover my data from an encrypted sd card, i didt it when i was using android 8 , today i downgraded to android 6, and forgot to decrypt my sd card, so now i cant see my photos and stuff.
so, is there a way ???
