Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.
Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: The Galaxy S7 bumper is priced at $24.99, and ships free on Amazon.

Hey everybody, just thought I would give you a heads up on a great product, I plan on getting one for my Note this summer when I get my beast.
http://www.senacases.com/samsung-cases/galaxy-note/ultraslim/
It's the Sena Ultraslim pouch. I had one for my iPhone 3G and for my Captivate, and they are great cases. They are made of high quality leather that is hand stitched and buttery soft. I highly recommend them, as they are great for those of you that like to use your device naked, yet want some ultra thin protection for when it's not in use. Inside the pouch is a soft, velvety material that will somewhat clean the screen of your device as well. The pouch starts out kind of tight to the device, but loosens up a bit with use and conforms to the curves of the device perfectly. It barely adds any thickness or weight to the device as well. I had one white and one black for my iPhone, and a black one for my Captivate. The white can get dirty, as it is leather, but good care will keep it clean. Also, when you take the device out, if you hold it behind the device it can provide a little grip on the device with the leather being warm from your pocket, as the leather grips the plastic of the phone. I plan on getting a white one to match my white Note.
Here is a picture of the white one, they also have black, brown, and red.

Feel free to ask me any questions! And hit thanks if I found a new case for you!
Edit: One note, it does not work very well with Zagg InvisibleShield screen protectors due to the tight fit and the rubbery nature of those protectors. However, most high gloss or matte protectors have no troubles at all.
Wow
I really wish there was a design like this but as a case instead. It would be nearly the same thing. Maybe a flap on the top to tuck in and close it, with cutouts for the screen, buttons, and USB.
The only options we have right now for leather cases are either bulky, or flip. no thanks.
I'm tempted to order this and see if I can make the appropriate cutouts myself.
I just submitted a comment to them suggesting this.

Your Galaxy S7 is beautiful, but it’s also fragile. We’d say that using a case is a pretty smart idea. Our friends at Cover-Up offer some amazing real wood cases for the S7 in a range of styles and wood species.
Each #WoodBack case features a hand-finished real wood panel, combining practical protection for
your phone with the beauty of nature. And because Cover-Up only use real wood, each case is always completely unique.
Cover-Up offers 2 styles of #WoodBack case for the S7: the slim-fitting “Snap Case”, and the tougher, more durable “Explorer Case”.
The Snap Case, easily fits onto your S7 and maintains the phone’s slim, lightweight feel. It’s certainly more minimalist in style, with exposed edges and cut-outs for buttons. It looks great, and is sure to offer protection from any accidental knocks.
Cover-Up’s Explorer case is slightly more heavy duty with fully-covered corners and rubber-like TPU edges (including pressable buttons!) to give extra shock absorption as well as added grip. It also features that all-important raised bezel to guard the screen from scratches. Definitely a wise choice for those looking for more in the way of protection from more serious knocks and drops!
A standout in a sea of plastic, the #WoodBack Collection definitely gets a thumbs up from us.

Now this is an interesting case idea that I've never owned before! So I got the Poetic Quarterback case; Poetic makes some good stuff, as I've had their Affinity series, which is a nice case, but i personally hate clear back cases (they get smudgy, oily etc.) My favorite type of case is leather, but I do like a good TPU every now and then (matte style.) I bought the Quarterback case because it seems unique..it's a really thin flexible TPU, but on the back, a hard plastic snaps on. It comes with black, but their plan is to sell different color back plates, which seems like a real cool idea. You buy the case in black, and then if you want to switch out, just get another color! Awesome idea, but no word yet as to when they're going to sell the colors and for how much. Until then, I really dig this case in black!
The backplate:

Ok, so the only con i have towards this case is the back is slippery..like really slippery. not in the hand, but on a table. so on my desk i can easily push this and it'll glide along. now, for me, that's not an issue because i don't care about things like that, but for some people, that's an issue. either way, only a con in the sense that others may not like it. besides, if you lay your phone face down on a table, the TPU lip that is in the front prevents it from moving.
All ports easily accessible:
Buttons are nice and clicky, and the side is TPU, not the hard plastic, so there's a good grip. There's a little ridge that helps with the grip.
Overall, this is a really nice case. The lip that comes over the edge of the front doesn't come over really far into the bezel which is awesome because I have the Spigen curved crystal screen protector, and being that it's curved, even though it's thin it goes right to the edge. Other cases will lift it up (even Spigens own cases!!) so i'm happy with how this is.
Either way, try this case out. Only $10 on Amazon with prime, and hopefully when the color plates come out they'll be priced reasonably enough to be able to swap whatever colors you want.

Thousands of hours engineering, reinventing and testing. Quad-layer defense. Slim lines and powerful colors. The OtterBox Certified Drop+ Protection seal. All this and more make the toughest Defender Series ever.
Quad-layer defense*
The built-in screen cover shields scuffs. The foam buffer cushions shocks. The soft-lined inner shell deflects drops. The outer slipcover blocks dirt and dust. Together, they form the toughest defense we’ve ever made.
Maximum defense.
Minimal profile.
Strapping and streamlined. Sturdy and stylish. The new Defender Series surrounds your device with uncompromising protection, not excess bulk. It's a tough case that fits your hand, pocket or purse.
Tough fit and finish
Even the Defender Series color palette is tough. Contemporary and classic, rugged and refined, powerful and polished — Defender Series commands attention.
Clip on. Stand up.
Clip it to your belt. Attach it to your purse. Convert it to a kickstand. With the removable holster, your Defender Series is always at the ready.
Defender is a nice case if you can live with the crappy screen protector.

What screen protectors do you recommend personally? I'm asking because I've used several different type cases for my S4 and like Otterbox Defender the best but I just bought my son a Galaxy S7 and he wants to get the UAG case and we'll be needing some screen protectors. Thanks!

Here's my Defender with the stock screen protector removed and I'm using the ZAGG Curve on the phone. A perfect combination.

The bumper is super-lightweight, weighing at only 12 grams (less than half an ounce) yet it is still fully capable of providing at least the same level of impact protection as many leading brands or any other brick-like case product.
