Hi there
Can we expect any AOSP bases ROMs in the future for this device such as CyanogenMod?
It would be great to have after Sony decides to end the support for this device. They ended support for C5 ultra just after one update! From android 5 go 6. I hope they don't end the support for this device after Nougat!
Thanks in advance.

Highly unlikely to get any further than Nougat that's for sure and I bet that is late. I also expect that they'll have little or no custom rom support, they ain't even in Sony's open devices project due to being mediatek devices.

Okay thanks for the information.
Sad to see such limited support on the XA Ultra
Hi again
On the Sony USA website it states that the XA Ultra is compatible with their UCH10 charger which is the equivalent of QUALCOMM Quick Charge 2.0- this would apparently allow "5.5 hours of battery life in just 10 minutes" http://www.sonymobile.com/us/products/phones/xperia-xa-ultra/
However, on their UK site, it says that the XA Ultra is compatible with their UCH12 charger which is equivalent of QUALCOMN Quick Charge 3.0 and also MediaTek® Pump Express Plus™ 2.0 - this should allow for the same "5.5 hours of battery life in just 10 minutes"
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/products/phones/xperia-xa-ultra/
When I plugged the phone into a QC 2.0 portable charger it briefly detected the device as quick charging then showed normal 2amp charging.
Does this phone have Quick Charge 2.0 compatibility or QC 3.0? or is it just the MediaTek pump charging support?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
In the Kernel config, enabled features are:
CONFIG_MTK_PUMP_EXPRESS_PLUS_20_SUPPORT= y
and
CONFIG_MTK_PUMP_EXPRESS_PLUS_SUPPORT= y
I can't say more because I don't have a QC charger.

Not as far as I know, though I did notice when I installed bravia engine, x-reality and supervivid to my previous xperia a rooted m2 that the bravia engine did improve the quality of the screen in general all the time no matter what you were looking at it wasn't a huge difference but it was certainly noticeable compared to a stock m2 screen.

I'll have to check into rooting then because XA Ultra's screen is capable of stunning vivid bright colors with Bravia Mode. It's really dumb that Sony won't let it be a setting on a phone whose major strength is the screen.
whats about VoLte feature in xa ultra??
My smartphone is possibly compromised. I have no comp sys and the compromisers are seasoned. I ON THE OTHER HAnd am not. Can someone annonimously provide some direction?

Hi there,
First im sorry, maybe is not that important. But i curious on The amazing spiderman, Peter uses Xperia phone. But what model is that?
the model is similar x10 mini pro with three push buttons, not xperia mini pro with one push button and 2 touch buttons. But the label is SONY, not SonyEricsson, so it is brand new model. So, what model probably it is?
And the Android version, what kind of series is that? its quitely different with Gingerbread or even ICS. Is that donut or eclair? or custom ROM from xda?
Thanks.
Is there a video of that part on youtube or something?

But the old x10 mini pro has label SonyEricsson not SONY.

I think as the film was released now the company have made some modifications in labeling the device for this film as the name is splitted in two parts to avoid misunderstanding

Um how is that possible, the movie was made in the past 12 months, the x10 mini came out in mid 2010?? The phone wasnt new then. As tokaides said its the x10 and it has just undergone some labeling.

If Peter use the x10 mini at that time because it was the latest model, can you explain the black (no racist) man phone used to record a video of spiderman? It looks like an Xperia S because the phone shape looks like Xperia S

The film was shot between december 2010 and april 2011. At first glance I thought peter's phone was an x10 mini or an x8 but the man who's taking a picture I think was an X10.

I will revive this thread just because I have a picture I took when I noticed the sony logo.
I think it is an X10 mini pro and I have pics to back it up
take note of the curve in the plastic above the sony logo.
It is not curved on the mini, only on the pro
also note the button on the upper right top. not present in the mini.
A pic by my X10 from the movie on my tv

how much performance I can expect from this phone in terms of memory card read-write speed?
I mean, I'm planning to buy Samsung MicroSD Evo 32GB (new orange coloured) for this phone, but i just need to know whether this phone can manage to take out the most from memory card? (i.e. 44MBps read speeds/19MBps write speeds)
OR is it enough to go with their new class 6 card (Blue) with 22MBps & 12MBps read & write speed?
if u have such a high performance memory card, can you benchmark it for me?
Thank You
Well, it looks like Samsung finally managed to do what it has been trying to do for a painfully long time — the Korean manufacturer has made its first Tizen-powered phone official. Called the Samsung Z, the phone features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display of 1280×720 resolution and is powered a quad-core 2.3GHz processor (most like a Snapdragon 800), and runs on version 2.2.1 of Tizen. The Z comes with a new look that should come as a breath of fresh air for those who have gotten bored of Samsung’s design language on Android devices (let’s face it, who hasn’t?), though the overall design seems to be along the same lines as the company’s previous efforts.
The Samsung Z also sports a fingerprint and heart rate sensor and comes with features such as Download Booster and Ultra Power Saving Mode, things that debuted on the Galaxy S5. The hardware specs include 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with the usual camera modes that we’ve seen on Samsung’s Android phones (and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera), 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, connectivity features including LTE-A, NFC and an IR sensor, and a 2,600 mAh battery. It’s basically a mix of the previous three Galaxy S flagships, and for a first device with a new OS, doesn’t really have anything impressive or different to offer.

Hmm..
Well, the specs are good, no doubt in that. But, when it comes down to software, never believe in samsung, coz they ain't good in that field. After bada, I ain't trying anything that comes out from the software kitchen of samsung. Although, the ability to run android apps is a relief.

Sorry, wrong thread...
Hi guys I'm considering about buying a Xperia 1 and I want to know that does it support 120fps gaming?
Sony didn't announce any info about 120Hz gaming. But according to a YouTube review, he said that this screen can work as 2k resolution with 120Hz in gaming mode, and I also find a Reddit thread showed an Official Page include a mention to 120Hz gaming. But I can't find any info in that page now.
So, does it really support 120fps gaming? Or can we looking forward that Sony will unlock this feature in future?

So, does it really support 120fps gaming? Or can we looking forward that Sony will unlock this feature in future?

Yes I saw this on Reddit but I can no longer find this on Sony HongKong’s official homepage.
That’s why I’m not sure about if it supports 120Hz.

Supposedly is running on 120hz on gaming mode.
Same thing happens with each Sony phone and it's always the same answer.
Can it run 120hz or will it ever run 120hz.
No

According to phonearena, there is no 120Hz gaming option and Sony revealed to us it's not planning on including one.
in term of hardware capability from predecessor until xperia 1 have support 120hz but as far as i know sony always trying disable it..
but again in xperia 1 some say it have automatically support and other say it disable in system level
There is a video that I can't find now where Xperia 1 vs S10 is compared where it is seen doing scrool in slow motion where the Xperia 1 has twice the refresh rate .
it's a chinese website i think something like bilibili

Well, you can also just try the phone, see if it's smooth enought for you, and buy it or not. Who care about 120FPS if you can't tell the difference by using it? If you can tell, it's easy to just go to a shop and try it. People nowaday looks too much to the spec sheet and not enought to the product.

Actually, the XZP can run in 120hz. This needs to be supported at a kernel level. There was development by Sony for AOSP that enabled display options, such as native 4k, and 1080 @ 120hz. There was a bug where the setting wouldn't persist upon reboot, but unsure if that was ever fixed. This was back in 2017.
The Xperia 1 may likely be able to support 120hz. It's just not a priority it seems.

Working TWRP
There are several Recoveries available. So, which TWRP is fully working for Indian K20 Pro including decrypting the storage?
Anyone knows a theme that makes whatsapp and facebook background to black
I am going to buy from flipkart si have some questions below:
1. Is code name for Indian variant is same as 'raphael' or something else.
2. I can see many custom roms doesn't support in-display fingerprint, is it serious problem or could be solved with time, cause i hate Miui, and unability to use custom ROMs is a big deal breaker for me.
3. At last are there any better places to buy other than flipkart.
Thanks

Code name of Indian version is raphaelin.
In display fingerprint works fine. Just use the belly of your finger and press slightly harder than usual. Works 99% of the time for me

The Indian version is a bit different from the original Raphael, as they've removed the physical NFC chip and also the libs are removed from official firmware! Also with more region specific changes.
Custom rom support will improve over time, but you will have to wait for a period of 7-30 days to get your bootloader unlocked through the official method. Don't know why there is wait time present at the first place, anyway locking the bootloader back has a high possibility of bricking your device as well (several people have already bricked their devices) so if that's not your cup of tea better get a OnePlus device!
AFAIK Flipkart and mi.com are the only two sites that you can purchase K20 Pro on!

I am already using Redmi note 5 plus, i am not worried about bootloader and brick, i have good experience in that.
The only thing i am worried about custom rom development as i am only seeing ROMs for Raphael not Raphaelin.
Thanks
I noticed that front camera is making face red while clicking selfie, if i cover my face then camera is showing actual colours, but when it recognizes face in the frame it automatically turns the face red, i also disabled all beauty footers but seems there is something wrong with camera software, because gcam port is not showing red face in front camera, can anybody confirm if they are also facing this issue or is this a hardware issue only?

You can flash Raphael stuff on Raphaelin without any problems! If you try to enable/disable NFC the settings app will fc! That's the only bug I faced.

They're the preset scene mode settings kicking in action once they detect your face! Have been working to optimize the preset scene modes to get color accurate photos!

So you are saying its just a software issue, and will be corrected in future updates and not a hardware issue, i was thinking of returning the phone because its still in return window period

If you think the issue is serious enough you should return your device!
But if the photos look good in gcam then its most likely not a hardware issue, its your call to return/replace it!

Photos are good with gcam, its just stock camera is giving red tone, even if i replace, as per you its a software issue, so it will happen on replaced device also

I used stock camera app for a while but switched to Gcam for better dynamic range and color accuracy!
Stock camera app was producing over-exposed, over-saturated and washed out images, this is my personal opinion and may differ for others!

Does Redmi K20 Pro Indian Version Have A Physical NFC Chip?
FAQ #1
Received PMs from many users asking whether the Indian version had the physical NFC chip!
Original videos : Raphael Raphaelin
As you can see in the attached images, physical NFC chip is absent from the Redmi K20 Pro Indian version, so flashing chinese firmware won't magically enable NFC on your Raphaelin!
Credits : BCD Technology for the Raphaelin disassembly video & Xiaomi Global Community for the Raphael disassembly video.

Yeah, that's why i am also using gcam, but the front camera resolution is only 5mp in gcam, that's why i was keen on using stock camera for selfies
