Hey!
I am very sick of this phone, I want to try different roms and apps and I cannot get the bootloader unlocked. I made the request 2 months ago to unlock it, but got no answer, posted on their forum and still nothing.
There is no way to unlock this this ??
Thanks!
Have you rooted your phone?

i also did not got a message from them but when i used mi unlock tool it unlocked my phone.so you should try mi unlock tool and see if the unlock code was already sent to you but could not receive due to some reasons like me.
I got some problems to unlock my Redmi 3 Pro too, I was on Global Stable and was unable to unlock my phone.
I downloaded the developer ROM from MiUI site, updated manually via Updater app, and i successfully unlock my phone.

If you flash this ROM using edl mode and miflash tool ManhIT_ido_xhdpi_SpaceX 6.7.7 from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572369242688234
It it for locked bootloaders but is rooted and has twrp recovery installed. You can then flash other ROMs that usually require an unlocked bootloader. I've changed from the spaceX ROM to the latest weekly thunder ROM and over the weekend to the CM13 ROM by Anik_Khan.

Hi, maybe you can give me some guidance, here.
I'm willing to try the CM 13 in a redmi 3 pro. Have you download it the China Developer Rom?
Try flashing the latest developer ROM with miflash, and then unlock your bootloader

I did as you said but I couldn't boot into the spaceX rom. I booted in recovery and installed another ROM, but now I'm stuck with the MI logo and the phone restarts itself continously. any suggestions?

I have a few questions.
1. Do I need to root the phone separately using super su? Or just flashing twrp will do the job?
2. Do I need different super su zip files for different roms ? Or any super su file will work?
3. Whats the best stable rom right now? [ Miui or any custom ]
Have you unlocked officially or unofficially? How many days it took you to unlock officially after receiving the sms from Xiaomi? I got my request approved since 13th July, yet unable to unlock bootloader as it stucks on 50% and gives account different error all the time. Have you changed your ROM to get it unlocked? Thanks in advance for your help.

To install TWRP you have to modify your boot.img otherwise system will replace twrp with stock recovery follow this link http://en.miui.com/thread-249666-1-1.html (ON SOME ROMS DEVICE DOSENT BOOT THIS HAPPENED WITH ME DO AT YOUR OWN RISK MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BACKUP OF YOU STOCK BOOT.IMG YOU CANNOT USE ANY BOOT.IMG YOU HAVE TO USE SAME IMAGE THAT YOUR ROM HAVE YOU CAN EXTRACT BOOT.IMG FROM FASTBOOT ROM )after installing TWRP you can root your device via flashing SUPERSU ZIP there are many roms with their pros and cons i am using MOKEE its stable .

It is better to unlock via official method it will take time but will be good. it usually take a week or more to unlock after reciving permission msg. the errors are irrelevant to problem. try after few days good luck

After officially unlocked the bootloader, you can used this to flash twrp: http://en.miui.com/thread-296053-1-1.html, used twrp to flash superSU2.65.zip for rooting. I personally preferred alka twrp for flashing official rom with ease. When you go to unlock request site if it loaded with unlock tool download page you are given permission to unlock and download it and unlock officially.

All the while on xmiui 8, When I flashed the rom, always flashed superSU.zip and xposed x86 by solarwarex in one single flashing without failed. But because of Pokemon go game and now both my redmi 2 enhanced(cn dev rom) and redmi note 3 pro (global dev rom)were not rooted. But my redmi note 2 prime was rooted and xposed installed on latest global dev rom.

Try using a different pc. Make sure you have latest drivers and you are connected to internet. Make sure driver signature check is closed in windows 10. Use 64bit version of windows for this.
If nothing works, then take it to service centre and ask them for help. Or you can unlock officially. After unlocking officially, flash twrp and then flash the radio package compiled by banmeifyouwant. That package will replace your unofficial bootloader with a user debuggable one.

Hello all,
I have just received my International (kate - 152mm version) Redmi Note 3.
One of the first things I wanted to do was to root it, so I can remove some of the spyware.
I got the authorization code from Mi, but when I use the unlocker app, it always stops at 50%.
So I did a lot of research, and I realized that first I need to flash a developer rom - then I can unlock.
So: the question is - which version of the developer rom should I use?
Thank you for any pointers.
official unlock worked for me with last 6.10.13 global dev. i turned find my device first, then added my MI account in developer options->unlock status, and it worked flawlesly. eagerly waiting for official twrp
It is not possible to unlock bootloader on Kate model.
Even with the authorization form Xiaomi.

Kenzo rom are compatible with kate device.
Officiel unlock seems to be OK with the last 6.10.13 global dev
You don't need to officially unlock.
There is a tutorial here on XDA how to load twrp on locked bootloader and flash cm13 from it.
I'm using it right now without any issues.

after flashing TWRP don't reboot to system
just flash another rom (custom rom) or flash dm verity disabler(some thing like that because i don't know the exact name hahaha)
the point is, if you are using custom recovery after unlocking bootloader use custom rom too
but if you just plan to unlock the bootloader without installing custom recovery or rom is ok too

I just brought a Redmi Note 4 Indian Snapdragon version (4/64 GB variant). I want to flash custom rom. But I just don't know the process to do that. Is it necessary to Unlockbootloader and root the device before flashing a custom rom?? If no then what is the purpose of unlocking boot loader?
And additionally I want to know that flashing custom recovery void the warranty of Redmi devices?
Thanks in advance

Unlocked bootloader is must and should if you wanna install custom recovery / rom.
There are guides about unlocking bootloader, check again and apply for permissions.
Nope, rooting, flashing custom recovery and unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty on mi devices.

Thank you so much. I applied it yesterday night. and fortunately got permission today unlike other users I did not waited long period to get that. But I've a problem now. The flashing tool doesn't Unlock the boot loader. It Verify the device and failed at unlocking. (Error at 99%) It says Current Account is not bound to this device in the "settings> Developer Options> Mi unlock states "
I've tried various forum to unlock it. But nothing works. Tried to click "Add account to device" in developer options. It shows me an error 86012 (and some chinese text) What do I do now????
