Hey guys! I just got lucky and unlocked my Kenzo on my first try. I'm willing to root it but I don't want to lose OTA, so I think the best thing is to switch to CHina Developer, wich has root builtin.
But... I don't know how to do this, I'm on Global Dev (6.9.29). How can I change to China Dev without locking the BL ? And do you guys know if updating through china OTAs would lock my BL ?
Thanks!

The official bootloader unlock guide here http://en.miui.com/thread-202290-1-1.html states that "If you're using Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm version or Mi 5, you can unlock on MIUI Global Stable ROM"
1- Did anybody succeed in doing so?
2- After unlocking the official way, can I still flash the latest global stable? (assuming that point 1 is not possible and I have to flash the china dev) I read warnings everywhere not to do so to avoid boot loop, is this warning valid even when unblocked through the official way?
3- If I flash the latest global, will my bootloader get locked again?
I would like to unlock my bootloader to prepare for CM13 and in the meantime I want to keep running the global stable ROM.
Many thanks

I'm on Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm.
1 - For me, it only worked with the Global Dev ROM. You can switch from Global Stable without erasing any data though. I had the usual "never works on the first try"-stuff though, so I tried a lot of things and I can't say if being on Global Stable was one of the main issues.
2 - I read similar things, but also that you can OTA update without any problems when you are officially unlocked. I think the posts warning of bootloops concern the unofficial unlock only and it will happen if you forget to delete emmc_appsboot.mbn before flashing an official ROM.
3 - Shouldn't happen. Haven't tried it yet, but what would be the point of Xiaomi locking the bootloader again, just because you changed ROM versions.
So, #2 and #3 is guess work on my site. Hope someone else can chime in and give definitive answers. As of #1, hope it helps to know that Global Dev works fine. Or was there any reason you wanted to stay on Global Stable?
Hey guys,
I just bought an Redmi Note 3 Pro SE and i wanted to know is there any way to get root, Cyanogenmod ?
I am new here so sorry if it is already asked
You are able to get CM13, however I do not know the method as I do not have the Special Edition.
FIRST you need an unlocked bootloader ant twrp installed. After that you just need to flash cm13 the traditional way and flash RN3 SE modem to get wifi and sim working. If you read a bit you can find this info on the forums and more. You are welcome.
Thanks guys,
I got my bootloader unlocked confirmation but i can't unlocked it via MiFlash Unlock.
Which ROM should i use to unlock it ?
Thanks in advance

official unlock doesnt work. for no one. 99% of the people it stays at 50%.
so u must use the un official way to unlock.
U must wait 7-8 days. After that you may be able to unlock it officially. It took about a week for me to successfully unlock it after receiving unlocking permission.
Hi folks.
I have a Mi 8 Lite global pack.
I alreday unlocked it's bootloader. but i don't want to my phone be unlocked anymore.
So, since people say China rom is better than global. I interested to flash china rom and lock my bootloader
Is this possible to do it? without any soft or hard break?
What about China Beta rom? Can i flash it in this case?

As far as I know you can´t cross the firmware before to unlock device and in your case when you unlocked it you can flash any of both but you can´t relock it over the crossed firmware or you could brick it.
If you want to wait that someone that tried it can confirm it but I read that some users bricked due to this.
Hi having read around I think the answer is no, bit just wanted to be 100 percent sure. I have the Chinese stable ROM with locked bootloader. Mini 10.3.3. second hand phone.
Works fine and I have gapps on it from the MIUI web site. Fails safety net presumably because it's not certified by Google but it still runs dual screen PoGo so I don't care!
Anyway, I know I have to unlock the bootloader to install the Global ROM and I think that if I relock the bootloader afterwards, it bricks until I reinstall the Chinese ROM again.
Is this right, or is there a way to relock the bootloader with the Global ROM? Not a bit problem, as it works fine now, just curious.
TIA

Hey guys just a quick question,
I want to buy this phone for my dad but there is no global variant available just yet but can find the indian variant.
I don't want to unlock the bootloader and have to go through the process of getting google pay to work
Was just hoping to keep the bootloader locked but flash the official global or eea rom using the MiFlash tool was wondering if this is okay or do you have to have the bootloader unlocked to go to another region ROM?
If it is okay how do you do it using MiFlash? I've only ever used MiFlash on my unlocked Mi 9T Pro.
Hope someone can help me, thanks in advanced
Yes, absolutely! I did it. Miflash tells you what you can do and not do.
