I did an NVflash after struggling to load VEGaN 7 for a couple days figuring it was the partition issue that I have read about. Flash went off without a hitch - or so I thought.
I went to flash VEGaN 7 again, but my computer would not recognize connection via USB. Attempted to login to clockwork mod but instead I get message - "booting recovery image".
Thinking a factory reset might somehow free up my USB connection I did a factory reset - now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
So, to review--
I can't connect to PC via USB, Access CWM, or get past the bootloop.
BTW - I noticed while looking for options to connect to USB that it appeared my Internal and external SD cards switched locations after the NV flash. External, although not accessible was 12.9 gig and my internal showed slightly less than 1 gig.
Anyway, is there any hope for my G tab - I have never been so frustrated over such a simple process in my entire life.
sorry looked for a way to move this post to the correct location...

When you NVFlashed, did you use the version with or without CWM. If you did the version without CWM then that would explain no CWM.
When you say you can't connect to PC are you talking about APX mode (NVflash)?
Go here http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/ and follow the instructions for CODE RED step by step. Make sure download everything via the links on the dummies site to make sure you get the right stuff.

No I used the version with CWM, which is why I was suprised to see the "booting recovery image" and then it just continued to boot. I tried both APX via USB and a typical USB connection after loading --where PC gave error "device not identified".

So, just to verify, you hold Vol(-) and press/hold Power, 3 birds appear & screen goes black...that is APX mode. Connect usb cable to PC & what does the PC say?
USB device not recognized -
Still having that problem with USB device not recognized.
However, I have gone to ...for dummies site and reflashed device using the "flash USB driver" to temorarily gain access with USB connection. With NVFlash I Am back to having clockworkMod and working GTab with original software 1.1
Again going to flash rom - but Upon connecting USB i get the message "USB device not recognized" - I have attmpted to mount USB through CWM, but still getting that same error.

If your tab boots, you don't have to use CWM/mount & storage to transfer your rom to the internal sd. Put your external in your PC, copy the rom to it, move back to the tab & copy to your internal. There are also other ways to transfer it but we can talk about that later if you like.
If that works you can still flash your rom & then we can work on getting the usb up.
So, the usb not recognized is when you try to connect after your tab is either all booted up or in CWM mount & storage (and not when you are in APX mode doing NVFlash)?
If you look in device manager what does it show?
Try connecting your tab to a differet PC & see it detects it correctly?
If it works on another PC, you may want to tryto use USBDview http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html to look at the USB dvices that are connected or have been connected to your PC. You can find the gTab devices in the list & then use it's command line options (see instructions included with it) to remove(uninstall) them from the PC. Then you can reconnect to see if it will detect & install the driver correctly.
Can't use external load on pc to transfer rom. No card access.
USB did work in apx mode following instructions in code red. I thought of usin another pc and duplicated the failed results there.
Device manager showed yellow exclamation mark and would'n't install any driver I pointed it to (both computers) Unknown USB device.
Btw I want to thank you for trying to help me out on this. You people who lend your knowledge are commendable.

OK, try this. We are going to use Mobisynapse to wirelessly transfer files to & from your PC to the tab.
Download mobisynapse from my dropbox http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36150173/Mobisynapse.exe & install on your PC.
From your gTab, download Mobisynapse system tool from my dropbox to your tab & install http://dl.dropbox.com/u/36150173/com.mobisystems.office_registered-1.apk.
Start the app on the tab, click More & select Connect to PC to switch it to ON.
Start the Mobisynapse on your PC, it shoud see your tab, once it sees it click connect.
From there, go to the Files icon & you should see an Explorer type screen. PC on the left, tablet on the right. You can transfer files in either direction. Transfer your Rom files or whatever you want.
Let me know when you have downloaded the apps from my dropbox so I can remove them.

I downloaded them and installed, on tab it shows up as officesuite. When I run it "more" is not an option. On pc it simply says (can not connect to android device) under "choose devices". I did turn on USB debugging on tab.

Do I need to create a "roms" folder, and is it supposed to be the zip folder or the files within the zip folder?

It's easier that way, that way you can easily differntiate it from other files/folders. If you create the folder, then put the zipped rom inside the folder.
I turned connect to pc on. Running mobisynapse on pc it sees the tab just fine. I click connect and it pulls up info about tab, BUT when I go to files tab --- right side of screen is greyed out. It won't transfer files.

Third icon from the left...looks like a little file cabinet.
lol, yeah 3rd from left...
It seems to connect just fine, but under the file tab I can only see files from the PC on the left - the right side doesn't show any files and all buttons are greyed out. Again, under the home tab I have access to the GTab just fine. I can see apps, contacts, etc. but under file tab - no files on right side and buttons are not accessable.
So do you see the left (PC side)? Is the right side populated at all & what is in the drop down folder box (should be /sdcard)!
Hey xda members,
My name is Pierre, from France and new owner of X820 version 6GB 64GB (from Aliexpress).
I made a big mistake yesterday, wiping from TWRP all data (Sytem, applications etc.)
Now if I put "ON" again, it is just showing "EUI" logo, without end
I have still access to TWRP but no backup, not .img loaded in the phone.
I can't connect and load from USB the ROM, so I am honestly lost.
If you have just any idea, how to solve it! Please let me know
Thank you very much, and good evening,
TWRP has a backup solution for you. I did this same misstake like you.
In Advanced settings you can run ADB SIDELOAD.
I hope you have proper ADB drivers in your PC and command prompt in Windows is your friend.
With ADB SIDELOAD you can install ROM from your PC via USB to your bricked phone. ADB uses whole base of commands to control what you can do.
Follow this steps:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318497
Twrp also supports MTP so you should also be able to copy a rom on the sdcard when in twrp.
just use:
fastboot boot twrp.img (if TWRP you have in twrp.img file)
mobile boot in TWRP
then
adb push rom_file.zip /sdcard
after OK just install that rom from SDCARD via TWRP...
Thank you Razor, mikey and cr3pt !
If I am not mistaken, you provide me: 2 different solutions (ADB Sileload or abd push ROM).
It does mean, if I select the "one more easy" :
1. I boot in TWRP my phone
2. connect by USB (ADB drivers must be installed). Usually it is written MTP or "Android" but I can't see the external drive in Win10.
3 Then adb push rom_file.zip /sdcard in the Wincommand
4. wait and after disconnect USB
Then I will find the ROM to install in my phone.
Is it correct?
Yes
If you have TWRP, connect the phone to your computer, mount storage in TWRP, copy the rom of your choice, and install it. That simple
Sent from my Le X821 using Tapatalk
I use TWRP and always just drag and drop the ROM zip from PC to the phone's internal storage and it shows up in TWRP under install. It's super easy. As long as you have the correct drivers installed on your PC you shouldn't need to use adb.

Hey
My computer (Win 10) does NOT recognized sometimes: MTP, or sometime "Android". So in fact, I never the external storage in my windows.
That is why I can not simply "drop" unfortunately.
Should I maybe install ADB again?
install ADB, all necessary drivers. without that you can only dream about correct fix'a

I'd try to start again clean. First completely remove adb and android device drivers from your computer. Then boot your phone into TWRP and connect it by usb to your computer and see if it auto installs the right drivers. If not, I guess you have to find where to download them from to install manually.

Can you give me please a link with the correct ADB and the correct drivers.?
I can't see the external drive even if adb devices gives me OK result.
Thank you,
you don't need external drive - correct is adb device. just push file when is visible in device manager
Hello !
It does work perfect, I finally use the "adb push" function!
Thank you very much all

Bro Its is new security added in windows 10... U can only install official and signed drivers in windows 10.. U should turn it off.. only then u can access adb and fastboot...
One more thing bro...
If u have lost every thing, but u r able to boot in twrp, then follow me:
1. Download any rom for le max 2 U want to
2. After downloading, copy it in ur pendrive
3.Boot in twrp
4.connect the pendrive to ur device using OTG adapter
5.Mount USB storage
6.wipe every thing again.
7.After installation,reboot
8.first boot may take time and then wgwghrussuwgskaaiiawg (U know the rest??)
Hi all,
Today I smashed my company phone - old Myphone Cube. I dont want to repair him, I will get newer BUT I want to restore my data.
I have there important photos on internal storage + ALL MY CONTACTS.
I tried everything with adb via stock recovery (update via ADB), which gives me ADB error: closed (no matter which version of adb I use.
In stock recovery is also an option "backup data", so I made an backup to sdcard. On sdcard in computer I see 3,5GB big file with .backup extension. I unpacked it via 7-zip and all I see is userdata_20100101_000113.backup. I cannot unpack it via anything.
Iam very lost. I tried many tools and stuff, but nothing helped me do something with ADB or this backup file. I also tried USB OTG to connect mouse, because LCD is still working, only touch doesnt, but this phone doesnt support OTG. I tried also My Phone explorer, but sadly, I dont have turned on USB debugging.
Iam playing with idea to buy digitizer for 10 bucks of ebay and do it this way, If any of those metods will not work.
Any ideas please?
Thank you, Martin!
Device USB\VID_1004&PID_62CE&MI_00\6&8563cbe&1&0000 requires further installation.
Lg Drivers 4.2.0 Installed. Running Windows 10 x64.
Also the phone doesn't even recognize it's connected to a PC unless USB Debugging is turned on, i.e doesn't give options for transferring files , charging device, Transfer photos etc from the pull down menu.
When in usb debugging mode if i select Transfer Photos the PC recognizes it, but not if I select transfer files.
Any ideas?

Hi
have you checked if the device is recognised in the device manager?
Especially after changing to file transfer?
If there is a error code in the device manager the driver cannot be installed.
First to check is c:\Windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log - here its explained what didnt worked.

Well I did get it working after reinstalling drivers, in MTP mode anyway.
However after installing the lg drivers and booting into download mode g5 shows as "unknown device" in device manager.
Think there's something wrong with phone, when I try installing a custom ROM instead of loading the default language initially it shows the last language I used, screen goes black when I make phone calls (all roms now, even after formatting data (instead of wipe)) and when I backup with TWRP, there's always a problem restoring the image: basically half the apps I had are gone upon first boot After restoring, a lot of apks won't install (says they're corrupt (they're not)), some play store apps won't install, lots of apps crash etc.
Need to restore to stock but since my device isn't even recognised under windows device manager there's no way to use uppercut/LGUP.
Hello!
I have recently bought this phone with installed custom ROM and I wanted to install another one. And then I downloaded the ROM and formatted the phone from TWRP and I just connected it to the PC and there was nothing.. I searched for hours I tried so many adb drivers, usb drivers, etc and I couldn't detect the phone in the ADB powershell nor transfer any files. The only progress I managed to do is side loading it.. The ADB detected it and then I tried adb push (the exact name of the file) /sdcard and after that (error: closed) appeared.. I think the main reason is because before I formatted the phone I didn't allow the usb debuging but apparently you can't allow it from the recovery... I don't have any type-c OTGs laying around.. How in the world am I supposed to transfer the ROM to my phone? Please help me! Thank you!

Okey, I just managed to use adb push without side loading just in the twrp and I don't know how to delete the post so excuse me for the spam!
Heyyo, I'm the maintainer of official builds of TWRP for the LeEco Le Max 2.
Usually for TWRP it can sometimes mess up USB mode if the device is plugged into a PC before it fully boots to TWRP.
Windows for some reason messes up the driver install for MTP as well. Usually of this happened you will need to manually go into device manager and select update driver on it and manually select the driver to install like this:
