Hello, I've uninstalled those apps, and my messages stopped working, I can't open it. Which app should I restore to repair messaging?
//edit: OK, I froze apps instead of uninstalling and everything is ok

So, I upgraded to HKTW 2.3.4 and went through TiBu to debloat a bit.
To my frustration, every time I open a contact, I get a FC for contact manager:
"android process com.motorola.contacts has stopped working"
Thinking it was the beta build, I reflashed several times. Turns out its certain apps in TiBu that cause it. Now of course, I didn't freeze "contacts" or anything obvious.. but I froze the following that caused the error (I did one by one to see what it was):
Ypmobile
Yahoo mail authenticator
I have no yahoo mail nor do I use the yellow pages app. If I freeze either one (or sometimes both) of these, I get a FC every time with my contact manager. Anyone know why?
Thanks
Ok I have read that Gmail is not a very stable app, and people often complain it crashes, but there's a limit!
I had it installed by default, then removed it after root, then decided to install it again as I needed to check my mail more often.
Every time, every damn time I do ANYTHING, Gmail crashes. You probably know the usual message "com.google.android.gm stopped unexpectedly", I get it when I boot the phone, when I enable data, when I disable data, when I open the browser, when I close the browser, when I enable google account sync, when I disable it, and of course when I try and open Gmail. The fact is, the process crashes even when I don't use Gmail (I checked and it's not in the 'being used' processes list, but when I open the browser or enable data it crashes from nowhere).
I have already tried wiping cache and data, uninstalling updates (but for some reason it uninstalls the whole app), and uninstalling/reinstalling it several times, but I only managed to make it work ONCE (then after that unique mail sent, crashes again). Is there a way to stop this madness?
I have an Xperia Mini st15i with rooted 2.3.4 and stock stuff, if it can help.
Did you take a backup of the stock Gmail app before you removed it? Did you install that one and then updated or did you install directly from the market?
In addition, have you tried clearing the data of Google Services Framework? I read somewhere that clearing its data can help resolve issues in Google apps.
I don't have a backup of the stock one, I reinstalled directly from market =(. I'll try clearing that data then =)
Don't worry if you don't have the stock Gmail.apk. If clearing the services framework doesn't work, search Google for the stock Gmail.apk of your android version, install it, then convert it to system app and link it to the market using titanium backup and then update it. If you can't find it, contact me. Post how it goes.

Hi,
I'm having this messaging app bug tht creates an undeletable empty 'draft' message. The messages kept piling up and they're really bugging me. I flashed the stock firmware once n after restoring my backups, they were gone. But after a while, they reappear back. Somehow 'My BackupRoot' app doesnt save the bugs in the backup so, maybe there's a way to stop this bug. Thanks.
Hello! here is my question, I recently upgraded my ROM to CM10 on my pantech burst. before I did, I backed up my contacts to titanium backup. only problem is when I restore it, the contact app stops working. so do play store contact apps. I assume the reason for this is, the backup is for the stock contacts app, which is not the same as the CM10 contacts app. i can see my contacts for a quick second before the app closes. the only way to get the app to stay open is to clear data in settings. the error i get is "unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped."

Have you tried updating your SuperUser binaries? Clean flashing CM?
Damnit, i was trying to get my contacts from the S3 titanium backup onto my Z2, but i didnt notice that i replaced the app too, some Contacts thing.
Now the phone app crashes when opening (both the Phone app and Contacts crash at the same time)
Can anyone make a titanium backup of those stock apps related to phone and contacts? I just want to replace the App back to the original one, already tried a factory reset, nothing... still crashing.
Use Titanium, find the rogue contacts app and uninstall it, that should sort it out for you.
