Hey guys,
I'm currently on OxygenOS 3, and wanted to flash cm14 by Ashwin. I used flashify, rashr to flash bluspark v41 and other oos3 compatible recoveries but the phone just wouldn't boot in the recovery, the OnePlus splash screen shows up for a second and phone boots back into the system.
Now, what I can do:- I can flash stock mm recovery and flash oos 2 but then I would lose the new bootloader and hence won't be able to boot into CM14, hence failing the actual purpose. Please help, I'm getting very frustrated.
Thanks.
Go to fastboot mode and flash bluespark recovery... After doing that boot into it directly
Before doing the above check for ur bootloader information oem unlock

While H2OS was loaded, I flashed TWRP. After that I rebooted to recovery, cleared all the essential things, flashed a ROM followed by a Gapps package. After that, when I chose reboot to system, the phone stays stuck at the OnePlus logo screen. I can't access the recovery either. I flashed 3 different versions of TWRP, but still couldn't boot to recovery. P.S.: Bootloader is unlocked
What can I do now?
UPDATE: BluSpark's modded TWRP works, but after flashing the ROM nothing boots

You should fastboot flash old OOS 2 stock recovery, then full OOS 2.2.2 Rom.
Then root and install offical TWRP (not BS V41).
Then install what you want (but not Oxygen or hydrogen on MM)

oh, root access is compulsory?
Just tinking about root, because I used it to install TWRP but you're right, fastboot flash could do it
Hello all
I have been using CM13 so far on my Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon). I would like to flash official Miui 8 recovery ROM. I have "twrp cofface" recovery. However, whenever I try to flash the .zip via my twrp recovery, it re-locks the bootloader and replaces my twrp with stock recovery and effectively the phone goes into boot loop.
I have unlocked my bootloader officially. Could anyone tell me how do I flash Miui ROM from TWRP recovery? Do I need another variant of the TWRP? I dont want to flash Miui ROM via fastboot as it would involve installing mi flashing tool. Is it possible to flash Miui via twrp without re-locking bootloader and also keeping the custom recovery?
Thanks.
I just found out I need to flash alka twrp. I did so and now I can flash Miui 8 without any problems. Please close this thread. Thanks.
i'm in trouble. i'm running an old cm13 build on my oneplus x.
i wanted to clean install lineageos14, so i tried to flash the newest twrp recovery which didn't work (i have the old bootloader). so now i have no recovery on my device, cm13 is still booting fine.
when i try to flash twrp trough fastboot it tells me my device is not unlocked. when i try to oem unlock it reboots directly into cm13, not into recovery as i dont have one on my device. oem unlock is checked in developer settings.
i don't know how i can get a working recovery, i tried to flash old twrp (2.8.7) and the stock recovery trough fastboot, but no luck. how can i flash the stock oxygen rom without recovery?
maybe someone can help me. thanks in advance.
This guide will help https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/general/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3272108/
Latest stock oxygen will be flashed by recovery tool. But before it you should backup all needed data from internal memory.
Hi peeps
New Pocophone owner here. I got my bootloader unlocked earlier today and now trying to flash the official TWRP 3.3.0.0 recovery from twrp.me, simply following the fastboot instructions on the device guide.
However every time I reboot the device, the recovery always reverts to the stock MIUI recovery?
What am I doing wrong here?
I just got the phone and have upgraded it to MIUI 10.3.6 as well. I am wanting to flash pixel experience onto it.
Do following, instead of flashing your recovery.
Use this method boot and flash Magisk. Reboot back to your system and install Flashify and install your choosen Recovery with it

in stock rom you need to flash magisk right after flashing twrp else it will get replaced by stock

What the post above says is correct. However, if you don't want Magisk, after flashing TWRP, reboot into recovery and then into system. You may retain TWRP. However, this doesn't work for everyone.
Hi all, I fixed the issue by completely wiping my phone via TWRP and clean flashing pixel experience ROM. After rebooting on pixel rom TWRP persists.
It appears that MIUI rom has something that keeps reverting it to stock MI-recovery.
If you are on MIUI and flashing TWRP, once the recovery is up for the first time, you need to head on to reboot>recovery again in order to overwrite MIUI stock recovery. So the whole process would be like this;
i) Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (or whatever the name of the image)
ii) Fastboot boot recovery
iii) Once TWRP is up, Swipe to allow modification and then go to Reboot>Recovery and reboot into TWRP once more. That's it! You have just overwritten the stock recovery and are now on TWRP!! Now you can reboot to system and TWRP will remain on your device. There's no need to flash Magisk etc if you want just TWRP and nothing else.

I did those exact steps and it didn't work. It ALWAYS kept getting overwritten.

Did you follow step 3? You can't boot into system right after twrp is up for the first time. You need to reboot into twrp twice before you boot into system. This is what I do whenever I flash twrp and it never failed me yet.

Yes, I even flashed the recovery image from within TWRP and rebooted to recovery again. Still didn't work.
Note this was on the new 10.3.6 stable MIUI release that got rolled out recently. Not sure if it has new detection or anything that rolls it back.
Anyway I have resolved my issue now all is good.

How did you fix it?
I have realme 7 pro unlocked bootloader, and when I installed derpfest 12 ROM from TWRP it successfuly installed but I cannot no longer boot to recovery (I tried TWRP and orangefox recovery )
Can someone pls help?
so you tried to flash other custom recoveries and it didn't work?
Yes, but it didn't work
I had this problem too
Mine was caused by wrong custom recovery.
For some reason, this device needs a different custom recovery according to the android version installed.
I have no idea how or why but it is what it is
If you have orangefox for A11 and bootloop upon entering recovery try installing A12 orangefox.
