not much about recovery..
That thread was mostly on stock rom not the stock recovery..
you need to reflash the stock rom to get back stock recovery
But I can't whatever update or zip img I'm trying to install... Twrp is hindering it in some way because it's asking decrypt password... I tried to decrypt in every way by format system or wiping internal storage but it's neither mounting nor wiping not getting decrypt... I just want to get rid of twrp as it's not working in any manner for this device... Sideload is also not working... Please help to get rid of twrp first..
First unroot in SuperSU, reboot the phone. Then reboot to recovery and I remember that you will be asked if you want overwrite the TWRP recovery.

I have the stock ROM MM, rooted, with TWRP recovery.
Is there an app that can flash the stock recovery and then flash back TWRP recovery? I'd like to be able to install OTA updates without a PC.

The problem would be after the OTA is installed you will not have root and all the apps that can flash recovery require root
at some point you need fastboot
You can keep the TWRP in eRecovery and Stock Recovery in main recovery partition, so you'll have dual recoveries.
So hey! I successfully booted into the TWRP and used it to flash the DISABLEFORCEENCRYPTION file, right after. I decided to reboot to recovery (Cause I think that would be great just after you flash something in TWRP) but then after it finishes showing the pocophone booting screen rather than showing TWRP recovery. It showed the stock MIUI recovery! someone please help! I just finished flashing magisk and a custom rom by using the method of: Everytime I need to flash something using TWRP I would just open adb and fastboot boot recovery it again so that I could use the TWRP!
Thank you in advance!

I decided to fix this problem after I flashed a rom cause I think I would run into future problems involving magisk and it's use of the TWRP recovery.

If you already have the ROM installed, use adb to flash TWRP and without booting flash Magisk and then boot to system. If you are on stock ROM, follow THIS.
For entering into TWRP, use the key combination of volume up + power buttons.
You can use the encryption compatible TWRP (search for it) instead of the official one.
Im stuck on poco boot screen and after few seconds it reboots to fastboot.
I did a twrp backup (system, vendor, data and boot) when everything was working but now after i try to restore the twrp backup, it still doesnt fix the problem.
before this, i flashed a new PE build and that had a boot loop for some reason.
wtf?
How does my twrp backup restore doesnt fix it ?
Do i have to miflash a fastboot rom ? is it the only fix for me now ?
You may find your solution here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-decryption-t3853004/page42
You can also install latest ROM and restore data only.

i dont have a firmware zip in my storage and i cant push it through adb because i didnt have debugging enabled. So i cant cleanflash because i dont have the firmware zip. Looks like i will need to use the mifash method.
flash the original Vendor image!
if you have flashed PE over MIUI10.2.x
, this mean you have used MODIFIED VENDOR IMAGE
poco supports Treble!
you cannot flash PE/ or any other custom rom over modified vendor image
take the latest vendor image from mirror.akhilnarang.me/MIUI/beryllium/
and flash it view twrp
and reboot
you wil lbe fine
i fixed the problem. I put firmware - vendor zip in sd card and flashed it through sd card. All good now. Thanks for trying to help my dumb ass.
i guess there might be some magisk module thats causing the bootloop after i flash a new build of rom . Maybe.
If thats the case. There's a flashable zip file that lets you disable a magisk module via TWRP.. ehehehe.. happened to me too. I flash gl tools via magisk systemless then it got stuck on pocofone f1 loading screen.. so i flashed that magisk module disabler.. hit some commands via TWRP TERMinal emu.. then it boot right away..

Always uninstall Magisk before flashing new update if you are on official twrp cuz it doesn't support ota, update then reinstall it. If you have did so wipe encrypted internal storage , wait a bit it will boot .

Thanks. Didn't know about this.
Tell someone to call you, it was glitchy for me for the first 2-3 mins after the call but later works fine.
Hello,
I am a newbie into this.
I want to root the Pad to run some apps that require root access. The bootloader is already unlocked via the miflash unlock tool.
Next I tried to install TWRP 3.4.0.0 via using the guide from twrp.me
https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomimipad4.html
I am able to load the image into recovery section and I am also able to boot into recovery straight after that in order to enter TWRP (using Vol up plus power button as the guide mentioned). But once the Android system is booted up the TWRP bootloader in the recovery section is gone/wiped whatever because the Mi boot menu appears again.
What do I miss out?
It is also recommend to perform a backup in TWRP before rooting (magisk) or flashing a custom rom. The backup fails with a couple of red line "unable to mount...".
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
You are using the stock MIUI right? MIUI will automatically revert recovery back to the stock one. You have to install a custom rom to retain TWRP.

Correct still using stock MIUI. Sadly, that means root and stock MIUI won't work at the same time.

Although I never use stock MIUI, I think you can root normally. You don't need TWRP to maintain root.
Hey guys. I'm trying to root my device using TWRP and magisk, and so far nothing seems to be right. The custom recovery keeps reverting back to stock recovery. And even if i flash it again it doesn't detect my internal storage.
I also flashed that decrypt(pie).zip file.
I unlocked my bootloader using the official tool if it matters. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Here are some advice for you:
1.You shold reboot into twrp in first reboot,
CUSTOM RECOVERY WILL BE WIPE during stock flimware is booting(the "Zenfone" with four dots screen).
2.Flash Magisk20.3 or newer version.
3.Official twrp cannot read encrypted data pratition, AsusDecryption(Pie).zip maybe only can disable stock forceencrypt.
4.The method I use:
Boot into fastboot->Flash TWRP (via computer)->Boot into TWRP->Keep System Read only->Flash Magisk zip file->Reboot into system->Install Magisk Manger->Let Magisk recover itself and reboot->Done
(Wish you can understand my terrible English)

Thank you. Flashing the Disable encryption zip file fixed the issue. So far TWRP is still there.
