How do you find the grip on it?
I have a the Casemate Naked Tough Clear (which I bought from Telus when I got the phone on Saturday), which is nice. But's it's incredibly smooth and I don't like the feeling that the phone is going to fall out of my hand if I don't keep a good grip on it.
Of course, a useless video.
Real review; this is a cheap hard plastic case. Adequate stopgap while there are no "good" cases available yet, but will provide very little protection for the phone overall.

Dude, the Tech21 case is awesome. Offers over 6' drop protection as well and has fantastic grip. I also got the Cimo Wave and was surprised how much I like it for being just a tpu case. Slim, cheap, but also nice looking with good grip. At the Verizon store I did a test. I put the different cases on my phone and laid out in my open palm. Then I'd slowly tilt my hand to see how easily the case would slide of my hand. I think the Otterbox was about the worst. It was slicker than snot on ice. The Tech21 stayed in my hand almost to about 75 degrees rotation. Yet it still slides in & out of my pocket with ease.

The case is less smooth than the phone. I haven't had issues with it on my Pixel or my Pixel XL. It's not grippy like a TPU case, but it's not too smooth either.

Best I can tell it's a hybrid material, according to their website. It has the feel of a harder rubber. It's firm, but still has some give...hard to explain. Go to your local VZW store and feel one there if you're out and about.

I got the Rugged Armor over the one with the kick stand just because I figured the kick stand would undoubtedly get hung up in my pocket during a fiery car crash and prevent me from calling a drunk friend to come get me out of the car before it blows up.
I'm not sure of the details, but for me, it works fine. It isn't going to save you if you are careless, but if you are just looking for a case to help prevent scratches, dings, and daily use blemishes, it is fine. If you need something because you like to rage throw your phone or are usually balancing atop cement dividers on the highway and sometimes drop your phone, I'd buy a better one or take up juggling lessons.

If you're in Canada, my local Telus store (Rideau Centre, Ottawa) had the Tech21 case for the Pixel (I didn't see it for the Pixel XL, but admittedly wasn't looking). Unfortunately, it's $45.00 CDN.
I picked up the Spigen Rugged Armor and am very happy with it. It's quite low-profile (especially coming from the UAG case I had on my old Note 3) has a moderate amount of grip, and feels and looks good. And at $14.99 CDN with free Prime shipping from Amazon, it was far cheaper than anything I could get locally.

I like the little design detail that echoes the glass panel, and hope more cases do the same.

Well I know that they will be adding more cases because I reviewed the site about two months ago and all they had were the Aegis and Cyclops series. The Kraken series is new for the Atrix.
I use the Speck case currently and I couldn't be happier with this product but if I do buy another case it will definitely be the Kraken because of the kick stand built into it. Dope!
I think I might pick up the kracken. I like the can lens cover, among other things.

It has three parts, a silicon back-cushion, and the two poly-carbonate(plastic) front and back that clip around it. The plastic has a soft touch finish which gives you a solid grip. I do not like that the crease between the two is so obvious, but the two are securely attached so i can overlook it.
As any rugged case expect it to be bulky.
But it's not as bulky as an Otterbox Deffender.
Unlike the Otterbox Defender this case will not insert the belt-clip with the screen facing outwards or upside down. It only goes in one way, this is something I'll have to get use to.
My favorite feature is the kickstand.
I am confident That this will supply the same amount of protect as my Defender. I will replace my defender with this and will let you know how it handles the first drop.
I have had the otter-box, hated it ... Otter rubber loose, lack of directional screen dock and no car dock for charging etc... Base phone has a great dock.
I bought the trident case, the base unit - Much better case, camera lense cover instead of a dust hole like the Otter. Rubber is much tighter and a little more grip never hurts.
Now I need to mod a phone blank, add a pig-tail cable so I can mount the blank phone in the car dock, route the power out about 3 inches to the glued on belt clip - Hey, you never know, that just might catch on.
just bought the Aegis case for my phone; i'll post pictures when i receive it.
update, if anyone is interested. my case came in the mail today, but unfortunately the package got crushed and the case was damaged. i contacted the seller and asked him if i could get a new one and mail this one back, but they're giving me trouble. said they were out of stock, but i don't really believe that.
anyways, i'm just gonna order another one (this time from Trident themselves) and i'll be posting pictures when it arrives.
it looks really cool though, doesn't look like it'd add a lot of bulk. a little smaller than my Speck case. can't wait to get one that isn't broken, and the kickstand feature is really cool

well, i superglued the case back together (i can't get a replacement anyways, figured i'd try to fix it... didn't work out too well >.<). it's not worth using as a daily case in it's current condition, but i'll snap a few pics for you! just remember that it'll look a LOT better after i get one that didn't come snapped in two pieces =\
I just ordered mine as well. I've always loved Otterbox gear in the past, but this one is a flaming piece of crap.
Here's to hoping it doesn't suck.
Figured I'd post my thoughts, as I just got the Kraken case and from what I've seen so far it is a great case. I've have the body glove silicone case I got at the AT&T store and one of the mesh cases. guess I'm a but of a case junkie. My last phone, the LG Expo did not have God support and there were only a few case options, and I've kind of gone off the deep end with my Atrix.
My daughter and son-in-law have i-phones with Otterbox cases and the way the silicone comes loose and gets caught when pulling it out or putting it in your pocket gets really annoying. I like how the outer case of the Kraken isn't silicone, it slides into my pocket without any drama.
As posted on the previous page the seam where the case joins isn't as nice as I was expecting from the pictures online from trident. But my case seems to have gone together a little better than his did. The included screen protector is fairly decent but how it holds up remains to be seen. It looks like it can be removed fairly easily if it gets to scratched up. Time will tell and I will update my review if anything changes.
Seeing that I just got it, I'll wait before I review the holster as I haven't used it enough to give a fair review.
All in all, so far I really like it.
I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Then it's not for you. The point of a case this style is not to be slim & sexy. It's to keep heavy handed fools like us from destroying our several hundred dollar investment.
Mine came in the beginning of this week, and so far I'm happy with it. Looks and feels much better than my Otterbox did, but there is the 'seam' issue as posted above.
and thats what its all bout, being happy. I thinking bout getting one now. I choose function over form any day.. If i was worried bout how my phone looked i would bedazzle it, lmao.
As it turns out, this case sucks too. Admittedly, I'm rough on my gear, but this puppy was coming apart at a 2ft impact from day 1.
It looks and feels great, but definitely doesn't hold up like an Otterbox.

The boxing was rather typical, sufficient without being overly annoying to open.
No padding was used, but none was required. It's a case afterall.
Ths combo consists of three primary pieces: Felt Lined Holster, Silicon Wrap, Outer Plactic
This reminded me alot of the Otterbox Commuter, just 2 major improvements. The Seidio has a better fitting solicon wrap and it is available with a holster, which was my biggest complaint with the Otterbox.
The silicon wrap is nice and snug but stays in place very very well. See below for just silicon wrap pictures.
The outer shell snaps into place with a little bit of wiggling and stays put. The whole package is suprisingly slim compared to what expected. Is s easy to hold onto and doesn't seem like it will pose much problems with slipping.
As for the holster, I innitially had mixed feelings. When it is seated in the holster, it is rock solid. But inserting takes a little effort at first. The silicon snags a little bit, but after a little practice it is second nature.
When worn on the belt, it looks large, but sits rather close to the body so I didn't notice it was there until flopping into my recliner. I was surprised when I looked at the photos at how big it looked, especially for something I hardly noticed was there.
Overall this is a very nice package. For under $40, it's a solid investment in protection and I highly recommend it.
Looks good. With the price you paid I'm not surprised they're on back order. On amazon they're almost msrp.

lol, hit a sore spot. I saw you were from northern california and knew that would get under your skin. A majority of california is beautiful, the loud idiots just give ya a bad rep. I've been there numerous times and rarely get to see the nicer places. Monterey was pretty nice though, but LA was not as impressive. Also have been to Beale, Travis, and a few other installations. Mostly good times, especially when you can get a local fired up.

You misunderstood me, I took it in stride. I really am not that worried about people knowing my address, I trust most the people here more then I do my neighbors anyways.
I have the Active Combo for my Skyrocket, and it's by far my favorite case for that phone. Seidio claims that it only adds 2.2 mm of thickness to the phone. That seems to be true, but it "feels" like it doubles the Skyrocket's size.
My only complaint about the Active case is that the rubber is a little too grippy, making it very difficult to get it in and out of a pocket. But overall, I haven't found anything better and the holster works great when you need it.
Thanks for the review Chief! I always used Sedio because of their holsters, easier at work. Looks like a solid case. I have mines waiting for e when I get home. Excellent review!
Hey Chief? Have you evwr owned an Otterbox Defender? If so, how does the Seidio holster compare as far as ruggedness and thickness? I am vert active at work and id hate to have the holster fall apart, especially at the clip hinge.
Thank you sir!

The Defender is a higher level of protection. They offer an integrated screen protector which serves as a moisture barrier incase something spills. But the Defender is far far bulkier. Depending on the situation depends on which I would prefer. I'd like to think of the Seidio as more of a dailey driver for the rougher then normal user like myself. If your working on roofs alot, climbing telephone polls, or tend to fall down flights of steps on a regular basis, then the Seidio Active is not likely for you. The Seidio Active is, to me, a better made commuter. I actually dropped my Vibrant (close relative to captivate) off my roof in a commuter and it survived just fine, although it did land in grass. So I have no concerns of the Active case doing a fine job.
Now for holsters. The top clip does catch the silicon part of the case at the top when you insert it, some people have mentioned this is a bother to them. I just changed the way I hold it when I put it in the case and havnt had a problem since. Before I dared wear the holster to work I wanted to make sure it was going to stay put. This is where having my wife and kids on vacation helped out because they surely would have thought me to be crazy had they been there for the test. I clipped it on my belt and ran up and down the steps about 4 times jumped around a bit and purposely knocked it into the corner as I walked around. If you are picturing me doing this you probably realize how dumb this sounds and can understand why I didn't mention it in the original review. The spring clip keeps a helluva grip on the top of the case and never once did it even try to come lose on me.
Ok then. My concern is with the clip that attaches to your belt. I'm sure the spring loaded clip that holds the phone in the holster wouldn't be an issue. I do however use my holsters in the horizontal position so maybe it might be an issue. For me, the strength and integrity of the belt clip is most important. I come from an iphone defender case and the Otterbox without a doubt had the strongest and best designed holster I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Ok then. My concern is with the clip that attaches to your belt. I'm sure the spring loaded clip that holds the phone in the holster wouldn't be an issue. The belt clip is a low profile design. I used to use BlackBerries whos included holsters stuck out with a thick rotating ratchet area. This holster is far more low profile then those that I tended to sheer off and break on a somewhat regular basis. I just snapped some photo's of it, I have to go for a walk to get signal so I can post them so stand by for a close up so you can try to judge for yourself. Something I noticed is that it's secured with a good sized brass (in appearence) metal rivet as opposed to the commonly used plastic bindings. It's not difficult to take off the belt, but does not come off by itself (as you can tell from my goofy stair sprints mentioned previously). Going to go find signal, will post shortly.

Thanks for the pictures. I see that it may prove to be a bit weak for my purposes. But if Otterbox doesn't get off their rear ends, this may have to do.

Ok this is my review of the Spigen Neo Hybrid (Dante Red in Color )
Ok so to start off.
this is one awesome case its slim and fits in the hand great it has 2 peices one is a silicone rubber shell which is not thin or flimsy and then it has a red bumper that snaps around the shell it has little slips that makes the fit snug and tight it has a very gripable bumper it is very easy to grip also it has raised volume buttons making it realy easy to press the volume or power button so all around a good cases.
Pros
Doesnt add bulk to the phone.
The slim case is a very great build quality and probably one of the best slim cases on the market.
The case is ultra slim and is easy to grip with its plastic bumper.
The shell offers a raise around the screen of the phone to keep scratches or damage from laying the phone flat face down.
The buttons are super easy to press due to the raise in the buttons.
Most importantly it looks awesome with the bright red bumper around the shell and chrome buttons and the 13 MP around the camera cut out adds the bit of detail that makes it standout.
Cons
Fingerprints are easy to show on the case and takes some effort to get em off I only realized it after 3 dayse of use

Fitting the case to the phone can be quite tricky .
The Chrome volume buttons and power kind of slides up and down.
Other than that I can not find anything I dont like about this case .
Im sorry if this review wasnt good I just wanted to take a min to share my thoughts.
Trick to get the case on without it hangind is to install the case wit
The the bumper on it and just fit the phone into the case it will hang in the bottom right corner just pull the rubber out and itll fit snug all you do then is go around the case sliding the bumper into the silicon slits making it fit .
The the 2 men sticker doesnt come with the case I just applied it .

I already opened the box and took the case out
The box the case comes in is very well built its hard plastic its nice to see a case maker actually send cases out in something besides cardboard or light plastic
To make sure you dont recieve a fake case or a cheap copy in the box there is a Authentication Card .

Yeah if you notice the SPIGEN and NEW HYBRID are a bit large and some of the cases the MEGA near the camera cutout actually says MEGR. They are all fakes. If you find this case less than $20 new, which used ones run around that price, than its most likely fake.

I also chose the Neo-Hybrid as my case of choice, but in Metal Slate . I like how it doesn't add much bulk at all to the phone. My only gripe is that it prevents a standard 3.5mm Jack from plugging in. You either need to use some sort of extension or remove the case altogether :-\.

You can get them on eBay as well but you need to be careful because there are a lot of fakes on there.
Well, i was looking for Love Mei cases reviews around the accesories forum, but it seems that no one ever talk about this case, so i'm opening this thread to show this beautoful case, and ask if any one has see it.
on the official webpage says that it cost $US88, but i have seen it in other online stores in half of the price.

Looks nice but I wonder if it will fit the wireless charge back that I have. I also notice it needs two screws so for those who change batteries often, you'll have to carry the screwdriver. Otherwise, it looks awesome. Thanks for the link!
Are you sure that this case is as resistant as the one on the video? Because I'm thinking about getting one, and I like this one more than the one on the video, but if you can't throw it on the floor and "drive a car over it", what's the point of it?. It looks great but it's really big and Note 3 is already big. So if you don't get perfect protection than there's no point of getting one..
thx for the link

Hi, yes, its the same technology, but with another shape. here its the video of the small waist, but for the iPhone 5:
do, im not sure if it can resist a car, or the motorcycle like on this video, but its a rugged case and it will protect your $700 bucks inversion.
hope it doesn't hurt reception and gps like the original love mei case does. I bought the regular one and while it's badass and crazy protection, I can't use it due to reception getting knocked down.

I am using it right now to type this. I have been using the regular model for about two months now and the gps is the only issue I have. I just got the slim waist model from a friend today. She said that it killed her signal at her house, but she lives in the woods and only gets 2 bars at best. I live in town and I'm fluctuating between 3-4 bars all the time. I have not tried the GPS since I put the new case on. I'll upload a few pictures in just a second for those interested. I like the case a lot.
I am a police officer and I keep it in the front pocket of my outer vest. It gets rained on regularly and I just wipe the water off the screen and keep going. The silicone on the back makes it grip your dash perfect without sticking in your pocket.
I got my first off Amazon and the case I'm using now came from eBay. Both were shipped from China and it took about two weeks. Both came in nice packaging and the quality of the cases is great. I'll answer any questions you can come up with. I just discovered the thread.

Love Mei Note 3 Case
Well I can say for sure that this case is a TANK as far as protection goes. Now, I did contact someone from the company to make sure that the problems with the previous version of the case was fixed and he said yes. So I bought one, Black on Black. The new waist design is cool, but some of the reported problems STILL exist. NO 4G LTE inside a building or residence. I had to remove the mesh behind the ear speaker in order to hear anyone. The bottom speakers work very well. The screen most definitely is not SMUDGE or FINGER PRINT proof. I know that no screen actually is, but this screen is freak-en bad. So DO NOT GET ONE IF ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS BOTHER YOU. Especially you OCD clean screen freaks. The aluminum is just as bad with finger prints, sorry. The rubber on the back and sides is a DUST MAGNET. The phone is very heavy, but with all that said, I am very happy with buying it. I bought it through EBAY for $30.00, and it did ship very quickly from China. I wanted a heavy duty case to protect my $700.00 investment and I found it. I am a law enforcement officer and a gym rat, so this case will go through hell and back. The issues I mentioned do not bother me, but may bother some, so I hope I answered all questions.
Respectfully,
Rick Davila :fingers-crossed:
Be nice to see some pictures or a video of the new slim waist version please, nothing to be found as of yet anywhere online, aside from the official website.....
anyone who wants a yellow one, I'll sell ya mine for what I paid for it ($30). I'll pay the postage.
it is a tank and will protect like no other, but can't stand how heavy it makes it and the gps reception and cell signal is unacceptable.
I ended up buying a Kraken case for the days I need real protection and on the normal days I run the Aegis.

Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.

Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: the Pixel bumper is priced at $24.00, and you can pre-order a CrashGuard for the Pixel/Pixel XL.
Use discount code "XDAFTW" for 15% off until November 10, 2016. Check out the RhinoShield store here.
Thanks to RhinoShield for sponsoring this post and contest.
They also have $5 discount if you never purchased from their website, which is a bit better. Problem is, they only have free shipping on orders over $30 and on their website they have it listed and shipping out "early November". On Amazon, it's shipping out Monday and it has prime. So unless you plan on buying something else from Rhinoshield to qualify for free shipping, it's about the same price on Amazon and you'll get it sooner.

I ordered the bumper for $25 and that came with $5 off on the screen protector, so +20 is $45 USD so I qualified for free shipping, as well as the 15% off, so after tax (12% where I am) I paid a little over $50 CAD which was in my budget. And literally, if the thing is even a third as strong and stable as the advertised impact demonstration in their videos, I am satisfied in my use I will be perfectly safe with this product.
I also expect delivery in less than 5 days based on the tracking/shipping notice.
And I will be sure to post a review next time I get the chance to drop my phone :silly:

I'm not impressed so far. Buttons are really hard to press and stock charger cord doesn't fit.

I prefer a bumper because it doesn't cover the back of the phone. A clear silicone case always gets scratched up. A bumper also doesn't really change the thickness of the phone except around the edges.

The silicon on the bottom has stretched enough that I can fit the stock cord but I still have to jam it in there. The buttons could be difficult to press because of the skin, but I doubt it.

I prefer a bumper because it doesn't cover the back of the phone. A clear silicone case always gets scratched up. A bumper also doesn't really change the thickness of the phone except around the edges.

The edges are what drive the width which is what defines how easy it is to hold one handed

Looks like 3 1/8 inches wide on my measuring tape.
I'm not impressed so far. Buttons are really hard to press and stock charger cord doesn't fit.
I like how it looks though, here it is with the Hemp skin from Slickwraps

wow that's really wide... is that on the pixel or the pixel xl?
I cannot use it it it really is that wide. My pleson slim tpu case is only 2 7/8 wide on my Pixel and i dropped it from top coat pocket height on concrete twice already...not sure how because is don't usually make a habit of dropping my phones but it does not have a mark on it!
Just got my bumper from Amazon and i'm loving it. Stock charging cord fits with no problem and all the buttons feel great except for the power button, but that will be fine once I break it in for a few days. Combined with their screen protector everything looks perfect.
Just ordered mine, thanks for the code!
Installed mine yesterday. Now i don't feel worried when I handle my phone... Good.

That's kinda unacceptable with this being as expensive as it is! Jeez

I'm not the only one who had a problem, if you look at the XL thread too.
Pixel from UK Google store.
FOR ME:
Cons:
Stock cord does not fit
Only accepts slim headphone jacks
Buttons hard to press
White bumper on white phone to me looks rubbish
Pros:
Phone is more grippy and feel less likely to slip out of my hand
Not too much bigger (this is the smaller Pixel remember)
That said I'm going to remove some of the material around the USB-C and headphone ports and keep it.
