Camera Auto Night Mode In Dim Light Condition - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Dear all, has anyone experienced the auto night mode in the original camera app during low light condition? I wish to switch it off as it slows down the camera performance. Thanks.

Use Professional mode.

Do you use Auto brightness or no?

Hey,
Do you use Auto brightness or no?
If not, why?
I use auto as it doesn't affect my battery much needed screen look nicer when it's brighter. But there r pple tat use lowest brightness settings for battery savings reason

Yes, yes I do.

I don't. It drain's my battery more than manual settings. Slide your finger over notification area to adjust brightness manually.
I'm on MIUI so I can change from the notification bar. It depends, if I'm charging I'll have full brightness to show off the sexy SAmoled+ display. But if I'm out and trying to conserve battery I'll have it on auto.

Off.
Use quick settings via notification, hate brightness changing all time so its all way down except when need to up brightness manually.

Off. Main reason is to conserve battery. Most of the time super amoled plus display is bright enough even when close to lowest brightness. Like the others said there's a shortcut to manually increase the brightness through sliding the notification bar when needed say for example outdoors.
i never use the auto feature
Always auto.
I just can't unblock my handset when I'm out (thanks to australian sun) - I see nothing on the screen.
Unless there's a way to manually update brightness when lock screen's on ?
Off and almost always at maximum brightness. When using it in the dark (when I should be sleeping) I lower the brightness via the notification bar shortcut (that also works when the screen is locked using WidgetLocker).
No. Manual adjust is easy and more satisfying.
no!not working good....
inviato da sgs2
I do. Tried both and found that it's just as annoying having to adjust manually as it is when auto is slow

Never..... it ( almost) allways in max. It's a shame to use that beautiful screen on dull settings.

Im using auto.....because home is not like outdoor.....if i make it at the lowest i wont see any thing in the outdoor.......i have it on because it stimulate the sun and the low light condition.....plus .. i dont care about the battery...i bought the phone to use it and enjoy it not to sit and watch the battery all day long and keeping myself from enjoying this coool phone...........
I use Auto; I might try manual and adjusting it now and then but at the moment I'm content with auto.
I kept it off cause you can easily changed the brightness just by sliding the notification bar
No , I use manual so I can adjust it to the way I like it.
Always off, adjust the brightness level where you suit.
Auto mode may drains battery life.
I do use auto bright
It's good to enhance your view on the mobile at any light conditions
And IT DOES NOT drain your battery . it's,false thoughts guys belive me

[Q] Front Camera

I am running Snow Jelly Bean 1.1 Rom
I was hoping that when I installed this new rom that the front cam would improve. Here is my issue. When I use the front cam in video mode, indoors it is very dark, even with the brightness all the way up. I know the camera is capable of dealing with indoor light because the front camera in camera mode has a "night scene" mode that works fine, but it is not available in video mode. Does anyone have any idea how to increase the light sensitivity in front video mode? The auto white balance mode does nothing (sucks). Need a night/indoor mode or a way to manually do it. Thanks.

[Q] Camera in 4.4.4 - Metering Modes

So I just updated my phone to the 4.4.4 firmware and was playing around with the camera. I noticed there are a couple new metering modes, Face and Multi.
Can anyone inform me what these modes are? And what metering mode do you use the most?
metering modes is sort of where it checks
lets say your metering is on spot, it would check the centre of the picture for light levels
face, it would detect a face and it would adjust and folow the face
do i need to explain more at all or do you understand now?

I'd say use multi as standard.

Switches to dark mode on low battery

Device: Poco F1 (India - 64 GB)
MIUI Version: 11.0.6.0 ( QEJMIXM)
Issue: The phone switches to dark mode when the battery goes below a certain value (unsure about exact threshold). It switches back to light mode when the charger is plugged.
Anyone else facing this issue?
Check your power saving mod...maybe is something there

I can't find anything in the settings. I just want to know if anyone can reproduce this issue and hopefully have found the fix.
same issue
i have the same issue it's automatically in dark mode although dark mode is explicitly turned off! when put in charger it lights back up .. not sure but i guess it's a firmware issue .
I have the same issue and for me it is pretty annoying as I don't want to have dark mode enable. My display isn't AMOLED or OLED so I have no benefit on using dark mode, instead I have to turn brightness up as I can't see things properly with dark mode.

Question Camera preview lag in night mode

Has anyone else noticed the preview in the camera app goes slow motion when night mode enables?
I've been playing around with the phone and it seems to only be when the little moon icon is visible, focus on the video preview goes to mush aswell as soon as night mode enables.
It’s probably just the low shutter speed which is necessary for low light photos

It's only in the preview, not when pressing the shutter button, though I have found the camera assistant from Galaxy store can help improve some of the sluggishness
The sensor has to be open longer to get in more light for night mode
I was searching for a fix since this April update. i found that clearing the cache from the Camera cleared the preview lag in low light. Reseting the camera settings wasnt enough.

It's the normal behavior of any camera with low shutter speed (in low light condition).
