As the title reads, I am stuck in a bootloop I guess coming from uninstalling more system apps than was probably wise.
I tried to flash via Mi Flash but I get a "can't flash a locked phone" error.
I also tried to connect to Mi PC Suite on Fastboot but it doesn't recognize the phone as connected (although the PC itself does and Mi Flash did too).
What options do I have?
Much appreciated,
Ultimatum
SOLUTION:
Download latest Fastboot ROM and decompress
Download and install MiFlash
Open MiFlash
Shut down the phone
Power on with Power + Vol Up.
Download Mode
Connect phone to computer, let it install the drivers if necessary
Refresh MiFlash, phone should show up (for me, Device showed as COM 10)
Browse the ROM
Tick Flash all except data and storage
Advanced > clear nvflash_all.bat
Flash
Enjoy!

have you tried to re-install the Driver? make sure that you only use win 64 bit for flashing, many issues occurred when you try to flash using win 32 bit
I am using Windows 10 64 bit. Moreover, I have installed ADB drivers separately (although these seem to come with the Mi Flash utility too).
I think it's intended behavior not to be able to flash via Fastboot with the bootloader locked? I was hoping to be able to restore via Mi PC Suite but it can't seem to see the phone, although the computer does and Mi Flash does too.
try using Mi PC Suite, http://en.miui.com/thread-92720-1-1.html, After Mi PC Suite is installed, make sure that your phone is in fastboot mode, connect your phone to a computer, and select the correct ROM file to flash
"I also tried to connect to Mi PC Suite on Fastboot but it doesn't recognize the phone as connected (although the PC itself does and Mi Flash did too)."
For some reason, Mi PC Suite is not detecting the phone.

Hello there,
I faced the same situation, but unfortunately in download mode, the phone is not detected in MiFlash, it detected as QHSUSB_BULK in Windows. Phone is detected while in fastboot and normal mode, but not in download mode. Do you have any idea what to do?
I expect this is a driver issue, but I can't figure out what.. I'm using Windows 64 bit, disabled driver signature enforcement, and installed all driver from MiFlash installation (there were 3 of driver notification prompt).

You need to update QHSUSB_BULK to the Qualcomm driver.
Device Manager > Select QHSUSB_BULK > Update Driver Software > Find manually the location of the driver, most likely: C:\Program Files (x86)\Xiaomi\MiPhone\Qualcomm\Driver
The driver should now appear as Qualcomm something, and Mi Flash should be able to see the phone.
Does this work?

Hi,
Thank you for the help. Unfortunately it doesn't work straight away, fortunately this leads me to the right direction, after I tried to point the driver to Xiaomi directory, a window dialog says the driver is 32 bit thus noninstallable for my PC, then I looked around for 64 bit driver for Qualcomm, installed it. I can finally install the driver but the phone is detected as unknown USB device, after removing it from Device Manager, restarted my PC, and tried again, it's still the same, on the third try it finally detected properly. It's working now, thank you very much.
Really weird why did MiFlash comes with noninstallable driver.

you have to flash in edl mode not fastboot so google on how to take redmi 3s into edl mode then you can flash the rom in locked bootloader.in redmi 3 we use volume up and volume down and power button.press all three at the same time and it will take u to edl mode.screen becomes all black but if you plug it to ur computer and press refresh in miflash then it will show as com 10 or 20.thats for redmi 3.maybe redmi 3s has the same steps

I believe you are talking about dfc a.k.a deep flash cable. I have searched alot I couldn't find it on any e-commerce site except alibaba which doesn't ship at my place. Can yousuggest any seller or website if you ever came across selling dfc cable? Deep flash method is the only last resort for my problem other than sending phone to service centre. Could you suggest any website to make dfc cable manually?;as I have searched youtube but non of the method mentioned in it seemed liable to me.

You don't need deep flash cable use button combo to put in edl mode. From device manager update driver for QHSUSB_BULK. \After that reboot pc with driver signature disabled, then open mi flash and phone should be recognised. Just found the thread I used to remove vendor rom.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE ROM FOR YOUR DEVICE!:crying:

As I have already said edl mode won't work since developers option was not activated as edl requires oem activated. I had already tried all the methods.
By the way thanks to u all at xda as I have successfully flashed new rom using deep flash cable method...
Nexus 10 rooted in a bootloop
Hi folks! I'm a newbie with this stuffs so I'll do my best to explain the issue. I've recently rooted my Nexus 10 with Nexus root toolkit 2.1.9( I believe). All was fine until I turn it off and back on. Now I'm in a bootloop. I could use the Unroot+flash command but my windows 7 won't detect the device. It only detect it when my tablet is connected and turn off. In that case shows as MTP. Can anyone help me reinstalling the driver or else? Thank you

Unbrick Xiaomi Redmi 3s prime with unlocked boot loader
Hi all,
I've a Xiaomi redmi 3s prime with rooted and unlocked bootloader. I tried unrooting from SuperSu and the phone is in bootloop now. I had TWRP recovery mod installed and a nandroid back up in my phone. But, I can't even enter the recovery mode now. Fast boot is working. Please help me to unbrick it without losing the data or recover the nandroid back up at least.
Thanks!!

look
you got bootloop and its very very different from brick
update your title
okay so, i just got this phone. did all updates, enabled bootloader unlocking and made my mi account, downloaded the mi unlock tool and everything.
heres where the problem comes in.
everytime i try the button combination to get into fastboot, it works. but then when i connect my phone to my computer, the fastboot splash screen turns black with little text at the top saying "press any button to shutdown" or something like that. it just wont stay on the fastboot screen, its like its exiting fastboot mode on its own.
why does it do this, and what can i do to fix it?
note: i have downloaded all drivers and software to get this to work, and nothing seems to be coming to light.
please help me, i am very confused.
update: actually, it seems to be fine before i open the mi unlock tool. it seems that when mi unlock tool is not open, it stays in fastboot mode, but as soon as i open mi unlock tool, it just kicks me out of fastboot mode, and goes to a black screen with something at the top saying the exact same thing i mentioned earlier.

i already have enabled usb debugging. but for some reason, it won't just stay in fastboot mode.
was thinking about calling xiaomi and seeing what they have to say. because i cant find anything on this matter, so its probably just something im doing wrong. though it may be my version of windows. i have Windows 8.1. so maybe thats the deal?
this is stressful lol
If I'm not mistaken, you should only connect the phone in fastboot mode when the program asks, not before you open it

i know, i did that too. but the problem still persists... ill try some other time.
thanks for helping though
First off this is much better place to ask questions. When phone is running and you connect to pc can you access storage?
If not check drivers, try different usb cable, and try different usb ports.
If yes then can you access the phone via adb?
If not it is a pc issue probably drivers.
If so leave phone booted and connected then open unlock software. Once software is up and running go to terminal/command prompt and type "adb reboot bootloader" without quotes.
I don't think it is windows version but with Microsoft anything is possible. I still use windows 7 for all this stuff.
Had the same problem on my Desktop with Ryzen, i tried it on my laptop with Intel Celeron and it worked from the first try without any drivers installed. If you have AMD that might be the cause
Hello.
My personal experience says:
1 Install Drivers on the PC/Laptop.
2 Activate DEVELOPER OPTIONS
3 Accept O E M Unlock
4 Allow usb debugging
5 Shut down Wi-Fi and use only DATA in order to connect - verify the device to the Mi account you have. When connected, press "understood" or ""accept"" (however it pops up).
6 Connect the phone to the PC/Laptop
7 After being connected, shut down the phone and put it in FASTBOOT. Make sure your PC ""reads"" your phone. Do it through command line/power shell, and make sure it shows up as alphanumeric in command line (i hope you know what to type - e.g fastboot devices)
8 Download and use the mi unlock tool (preferable Versions 2.....). Connect through this tool to your Mi account
9 Ask for permission to unlock // unlock your phone if days-hrs have passed. Ignore any pop-up message/warning and go on.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:
A. The phone must be recognized from the PC as ADB INTERFACE (in device manager) both in normal and Fastboot modes. Any other case is waste of time.......
B. Use a good cable and have the mobile charged!
C. In case you have another (older) device connected to your account, disconnect-delete it or else you will end up stuck with a ""cannot unlock message""
D. The process will not work if your PC runs some Win 10 versions as well as if built with RHYZEN PROCESSOR. Prefer PCs running win 7 or 8.
E. You must have DATA connection available or else you will not be able to connect-verify the phone to/through your Mi account !!! it is a new (dual function) fail - safe procedure from xiaomi!!!
F. Make sure you have the correct drivers installed to avoid a brick - bootloop etc
Hope it helps!
Gathered from my own experience!
To summarize: The xiaomi imposes too much rodeo and much time spent of the user to just "try" to unlock a simple bootloader, better to change of apparatus and to be happy with the practicality. lol
Hi guys, I just got myself a Poco F1 and I was thinking about flashing it.
So first I have to unlock the bootloader right? I had OEM unlocking and USB debugging enabled, installed the USB driver and unlock tools and
was ready to unlock.
Booted my phone into fastboot and i noticed that every time i launch the unlocking tools I get kicked out of fastboot, and when i boot into
fastboot again, the PC stopped recognising my phone.
Anyone knows why this happens and what can i do to unlock my phone? I followed the steps closely and tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots.
Any help is appreciated.
its seems like driver issues, you must install
1. miflasher (latest) it comes with qualcom drifers , and it prompts you to install
2. miui pc suite (recomended)
3. i also installed TOOL_ALL_IN_ONe ( https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1899786940962603435) because windows (7) wasn't recognizing my poco / (install only drivers,) ( xda ref https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711 )
4. I am assuming that you have passed the 72hours of waiting time and your miui is sim verified and your miui account has unlocking rights granted , if all are YES then proceed opening the UNLOCKER app and signin to the same MIUI Account and connect devce in FB mode and proceed!

I have same situation with my personal laptop(Intel i7 based). After 2-3 reboots (from starting Mi Unlock), it will not stay in fastboot even for 5 seconds even if I don't use Mi Unflock / Mi Flash, no matter what port (USB 2 or 3) I use. I used my office PC, & connected to USB 3 port (to test) to my surprise I could unlock the phone using Mi Unlock & use Mi Flash to flash MIUI 11 from fastboot even though I connected to a USB 3.0 port.
I just had the same issue and realised both my Ryzen machines were refusing to work. then i plugged into an old sony i3 laptop and voila it unlocked instantly - i would suggest using another machine entirely. preferably an Intel since this seems to be repeating issue.
Or get a USB 2 hub, go thru that and see if it works.

I doubt it would, especially If it doesn't / didn't work with onboard USB 2.0. In my case I could unlock & flash fastboot ROM using USB 3.0 port on my office desktop (i3 & gigabyte mobo) while I couldn't get it to keep it in fastboot mode for couple of seconds using USB 2.0 port on my laptop (i7 based & even after a clean windows 10 install). Better for him to try another Desktop / Laptop.
I fixed it with this https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/howto_driver-zip.2480396/

What is showing into your device manager? Is it only android with an exclamatory function? If that so then just right click on it and install the latest usb driver MANUALLY. Hope this will help your problem
Recently tried to unlock the bootloader on a Xiaomi MI phone (9T). I didn't keep notes so I can't give an exact instruction, but here are some tips and tricks to use together with other more comprehensive step by step instructions. I had every problem imaginable, so these instructions are for worst case getting stuck situations.
The problems are this. The USB drivers on your computer must recognize the phone when you connect it with USB cable and the MI Unlock Tool must recognoze the phone. And Xiaomi will not allow you to unlock unless you have set up you MI account with Xiaomi in the correct way.
First, put in a new active SIM in the phone with a phone number that has never been connected to an MI account before. If the phone has been used with another SIM before with another MI account, do a factory reset to erase any trace of the previous account (don't know if this is necessary but I did it just to avoid any problems).
Create an MI account in the phone, and ensure that Cloud Sync and Find my Phone are activated (not doing this makes it impossible). Give MI cloud all permissions on your phone. (And enable USB debugging, etc. per all the other instructions.)
Reboot you Windows computer, and during startup click repeatedly on F8 to get into the BIOS set up (I used Windows 7 and I have seen comments that Win10 could be a problem). Once in the BIOS menu, select: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. This is valid until next reboot and will make it easier to get the USB drivers for Xioami to work.
Download the MI Unlock tool. The offical website will give you the wrong app (batch_unlock.exe ). Do NOT download from: https en.miui DOT com/unlock/download_en.html
Once you have found the correct Zipfile for the MI Unlock tool, create a folder directly under C: with a short foldername and no spaces. Unzip in that folder. Start the tool by clicking on: miflash_unlock.exe. Log in with your MI account credentials. Then click on the cogwheel in the upper right corner of the MIflash app. Then check for the latest version. If a later version exists, put that zip in another folder directly under C: and install (as above).
Before clicking on miflash_unlock.exe, click on MiUsbDriver.exe in the same folder. This will install the USB drivers. Use a USB2 port instead of USB3 if possible.
If the MI unlock tool can't recognize the phone when you plug in the USB cable (phone must be in fastboot mode, etc.), the Unlock tool will say: Not Connected To The Phone . If so, check if there is a problem with the USB drivers ) or if MI Cloud Sync is disabled). Go to the Windows Device Manager, maybe uninstall older drivers, maybe install dowloaded USB drivers for Android/Xiaomi.
When I finaly could run the tool, it unlocked directly, without any waiting time. But if you get a waiting time, keep the SIM in the phone and have it on and use the phone during the waiting time to avoid that the waiting time gets even longer.
(And if you want to flash Lineage on to you device, don't install a larger package from Google Gapps than nano. Otherwise, the Pixel launcher that comes with Gapps will break Lineage.)
