Bootloader - Xiaomi Redmi 3 Questions & Answers

Hi, I have a little problem with my Redmi 3 Pro's bootloader.
When I'm checking status via fastboot command (fastboot oem device-info) it shows it's blocked, but when I'm flashing roms I haven't got bootloop.
Is there other way to check status of bootloader?

What ROMs are you flashing? Some ROMs just don't need unlocked BL.

I can update MIUI Polska via update app but I'm thinking about flash Anik's CM and I'm not sure about my status of bootloader

Notification LED problem in redmi note 3

Hloo everyone. I am facing a weird problem in my note 3. The notification led do not light up when the phone is ON. But in edl mode red light starts working. Also I have tried hardware tests, and other apps on google play but still no luck. Also I read on mi forums that this happens when some folders are missing. So will flashing from mi app help?
You should try flashing a newer version of the unlocked bootloader. The first version of the hacked bootloader had an led bug. If you never flashed a hacked bootloader then you should try getting the latest fastboot rom and flashing everything with miflash.
OK so if I have an unlocked bootloader can I directly flash using miflash or would I have to follow the same steps as those of locked boot loader given in mi forums.
If you are on a hacked bootloader, downloaded the newest hacked bootloader and push with fastboot. If your on a legit unlocked bootloader then you can flash fastboot rom with miflash. I think it would re-lock the bootloader unless you deleted the emmc_appsboot.mbn file from the fastboot images folder prior to flashing.

Locked bootloader - flash fast boot rooted ROM

I'm currently stuck waiting for xiaomi to properly add my device to their unlocking server, hopefully enabling me to unlock my bootloader. (I'm stuck at 50% during the unlock process)
My phone came with the factory installed China ROM. I then installed over this with the Global Stable fastboot ROM via EDL. Would it be possible to pre-root this fastboot image and flash via edl, enabling root with the bootloader still locked?
I am only wanting to root my device once unlocked, so thought this may be possible?
no dm verity in boot img in locked bootloader will refuse to boot your device.simply it will brick your device and end with a heavy paperweight and nothing

relocked bootloader vs flashing rom

I flashed MIUI global stable rom on my rn4 snapdragon using twrp and bootloader was relocked. it is normal? It is safe to flash any rom with locked bl using twrp? can i unlock bl with mi unlock without xiaomi permission if unlocked officially first time?
system twrp and fastboot works normally and now i have custom rom restored from nandroid backup
Are you sure your bootloader got relocked?? Please check it through fastboot oem device-info command.

what do you mean about bootloader getting re locked? global builds only remove the custom recovery and dont lock the bootloader i guess.

Locking and unlocking bootloader on stock ROM&Recovery

Hi!
What happens if you don't have permission to unlock bootloader and you still try to do it using fastboot oem unlock on Xiaomi Phones?
I have already got the permission and I've rooted my phone, so I didn't really try it because I was simply afraid. Has anybody tested that?
Also, if I relock my bootloader again using fastboot oem lock, will I be able to unlock it using fastboot oem unlock or will I have to use MI tool?
Aaaand the last question - I haven't installed custom rom or TWRP - I booted TWRP using fastboot boot xxx.img, then installed SuperSU package. Is it dangerous to lock bootloader with phone rooted? Recovery is still stock, so ....

Redmi note 4x bricked on bootloader locked with fastboot command

Hello!
Today i was trying to return to factory conditions on my mido (recovery, ROM, bootloader, etc) but i locked the bootloader with "fastboot oem lock" instead of doing it with miunlock.
Now i am unable to flash anything, from fastboot roms, to custom recoveries, to anything.
Is there any way i can try and revive my device? I tried using miflash, unlocking again with miunlock, all to no avail.
Thanks in advance,
Carlo
Try this
Boot into bootloader and then connect to pc install mi flash tool and then after downloading rom click on clean and lock
Solved by using miunlock version at this link http<colon><slash><slash>en<dot>miui<dot>com<slash>forum<dot>php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=204866&pid=
I unlocked the bootloader succesfully (amazingly!), flashed the fastboot rom with miflash and phone revived!
Hope this can be helpful to people with my same problem!
