1) Firmware is the Android system itself, so bootloader will be unlocked.
2) I don't know Sony Xperia U, but in HTC devices there is a text label "Locked" or "Unlocked" in newer bootloaders.
3) You have to unlock the bootloader only once. Flashing roms doesn't affect the bootloader itself.
I have the att xperia ion. And my phone says boot loader unlock allowed no.
So Basically I can't get custom roms, custom kernels. But I am rooted and have cwm installed.
But when ever I try flashing custom roms from cwm I end up getting hard bricked or soft bricked and then I unbrick my phone.
I caint go to fastboot either so please find a way to make it bootloader unlock from no to yes. Help!!
I'm currently stuck waiting for xiaomi to properly add my device to their unlocking server, hopefully enabling me to unlock my bootloader. (I'm stuck at 50% during the unlock process)
My phone came with the factory installed China ROM. I then installed over this with the Global Stable fastboot ROM via EDL. Would it be possible to pre-root this fastboot image and flash via edl, enabling root with the bootloader still locked?
I am only wanting to root my device once unlocked, so thought this may be possible?
no dm verity in boot img in locked bootloader will refuse to boot your device.simply it will brick your device and end with a heavy paperweight and nothing

I am waiting not going to chance it.
I didn't see any option of OEM unlocking in Developer options and I flashed TWRP which didnt clear out after reboot. Does that mean the bootloader is already unlocked? and Im having problems with custom roms. Even after flashing the stock rom, I am facing random reboots and bootloops.
I have a G960u1 and it comes with a locked boot-loader, is there any way to unlock it by flashing a stock rom? If that isn't possible what other methods could i use to either root or unlock my boot-loader?
