Dear nice guys of xdadevs,
This is the first time I'm posting and I'd like to request some help from any experts with qualcomm devices.
So the story's like this:
1. I purchased a crappy cheap knock-off local android called Zyrex Onescribe ZA957 (made in Indonesia), it shares similarities with ZTE models like the Zte Blade.
The reason why it was crappy is because it's super slow and it had Android 4.0 ICS installed. Also, whenever I try to shutdown or restart the phone, it would say "Shutting down TABLET". So I immediately knew that it came with a Tablet ROM! This was before I rooted it.
2. It only had like 456mb ram, so I installed Kingroot and successfully got it rooted
3. I then deleted the bloatware with the system uninstaller app downloaded from playstore
4. After a while, the phone just became slower and slower like it was always running out of ram. The boot loading process also took longer and longer as the days progressed, until one time, it just got stuck on the boot logo (bootloop?)
5. So I couldn't figure out what was going on and eventually the phone just decided to stop booting at all, except for making vibrations but no lights or anything else and I couldn't even get to recovery mode by pressing power/vol+ etc.
6. Then I followed instructions to reflash a stock rom and the phone was detected as MSM 9008 or 9006 or something like that. I forgot what program I used to reflash it, but I think I followed the instructions from a website in Indonesian for "tutorial unbrick andromax u".
I also installed the stock rom for that CDMA based phone because it had very similar specs to mine GSM/CDMA dual sim, qualcomm MSM8625 etc.
I knew I had "soft bricked" it at first, but the second time, bang! I've double bricked it and now it's truely bricked! Darnit!
If I try to connect to PC via usb, it's a constant game of cat and mouse where sometimes the PC would detect the phone as "Qualcomm MSM CMDA Technologies" for about 2 seconds, then it disconnects/disappears. Sometimes (after a whole lot of pluggin' & unpluggin', it would stay on the Qualcomm MSM CDMA Technologies as detected in device manager, but listed as "Unknown".
I've installed the drivers for qualcomm BEFORE I attempted to reflash so I know it worked in the past. I've removed the drivers and have reinstalled them, but I still can't get my phone into the 9008/6 mode anymore.
Basically, I want to try reflashing again but I don't know where to go and what to do from here, so any expert help would be strongly appreciated!
Many thanks to the good folks here!
Cheers.

Hello guys,
Ive been lurking here for a while and i finally thought about joining the gang.
I cant find the LG E510 thread here so please move my thread if this place is inappropriate. Thank you.
I updated this E510 via the LG mobile support software and the install [after downloading firmware] got stuck at around 4% then at 14%
The software prompted me to remove the phone from connection, pull out the battery then try again. Now its stuck at boot screen.
I can start up the "Emergency Mode", where its the only way my PC can recognize the device connected. I tried using the LG software again but i get this:
Hard reset is said to be VolDown + Home + Power On yet it doesnt work, only gets to logo.
This is an unrooted phone that why i used LG-provided update software.
THe PC can detect the devices and installed drivers. The software can too, but this error is persistent.
A friend said something about disabling the LG modem in the device manager but i still get this error.
I have ADB which i used sometime ago with my HTC but the ADB says device not found.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much.
*** SOLVED
I dont know what exactly made it work but i did the following.
Disabled [not uninstall] all other devices installed by the phone except the LG Android Platform
- disable and restart. if uninstall is used windows will just install it again after restart. disable.
- may be a problem with my PC that it has difficulties connecting with the phone if the other child devices are on
Uninstalled the Update Software and Installed it again
This time i clicked Options > Update Recovery
- prompted for my Phone Model + SN or just the IMEI <- brainfart on my part shouldve seen this earlier
The software downloaded the exact same firmware V10H_00.kdz and installed it. Success!
Maybe there was something bad with the first one i downloaded being on WiMax connectivity.
I feel so stupid right now being unobservant and all...
Anyway thank you!
Hello everyone! Happy new month as we say in Greece!
I'm new to your forum (but I visit the forum way to often to find answers to some of the problems that my friends have with their android phones)
I am a iOS user since the release of the first iPhone (2G) and i still use that phone as my primary device.
Due to economical issues I never could buy a newer version of the device.
So I thought... an iPhone clone might do the trick for me!
SO I bought a used Goophone i5.
The specs that antutu gave me was that the phone had:
Quad-Core CPU (MT6589 if I'm not mistaken) --> which is a lie, because the phone in factory mode (Power + Vol down told me it was a dual core mt6577)
2GB RAM
I wanted to fresh install the ROM of the phone and I went to needrom.com to find the ROM for my phone.
I extracted the downloaded files and with SP Flashtool i followed the steps to install the ROM.
But once the green circle appeared in my PC monitor, and told me that everything was OK I ejected the phone cable and tried to power on the device.
The device doenst show ANY kind of response to anything (no dev manager port appearance or anything) and that means i cannot install another ROM or even go to recovery mode to install another rom OR even try another ROM from SP Flashtool.
I tried to locate the test point of the device but i couldn't since I've never tried that before and i am kinda scared that i will ruin my new pretty shiny iPhone clone.
Here are some images of the inside of the device (not taken by me) :

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img132/1700/u36i.jpg
My questions are the following:
1) Can someone help me find the test point and give me step-by-step instructions on how to connect my phone again to SP Flashtool?
2) Is there a way to avoid finding the TP and just flashing a new ROM?
3) Does someone have the same problem as me out there?
4) Is there a newer ROM with ios7 looks?
Thanks to all,
hope you can all help me and then help you if needed :highfive:

UP. Anyone?
up!
No one knows how to do this?
The things I also tried was to charge the battery from a external charger with leads and connect it to another device to see if it still works.
The battery so does work
But still cant locate the test point and cant connect the device to SP Flashtool.
Please help XDA members
Hi! I really head your help!! I looked a lot around and followed lots of guides on how to revive my phone, but i've some big issue with it and i really hope that someone here may help me...
The Hard Brick (it won't turn on, it won't charge, it seems like he's totally dead) occurred the other day, i was trying to open googlemaps and the SP was really slow, so i turned it off, and then i wasn't able to turn it on again, at first it was stucked at the screen with the logo (before the splash animation, the logo that you can't normally change) then i managed to turn it on after 2 or 3 times taking off the SD card, but i got a corrupted homescreen, i turned it off again and then, after 2 or 3 times, i got the Hard Brick!!
Probably in my last attempts i created a bounch of errors in the rom that bricked my phone.
Here's what i've done to revive it:
- SPFlashTool 1332.0.187
- official drivers, recovery, rom, etc, from the jiayu.es website.
- removed the battery, manually installed the drivers.
- with spft i loaded the scatter file of the official rom and started the format:
the phone is recognised as Mediatek USB VCOM (Android) (COM3)
i always got the error: S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (1013)/B] (with every option available)
I tryied to download only the preloader.bin and the recovery.img but i recive the same error.
- someone give me an advice: to remove every old driver for the phone and leave the SPFlashTool to recognise the phone forcing the installation of the drivers. And i really don't get how to do it, the windows update automatically detect the device, if i stop the windows update i simply get an unknown device, the SPFT don't have a chance to recognise it and force the installation of the drivers.
Does anyone of you have a solution, a similar problem, a way to revive my cellphone?
I really can't effort another one XD

There is a guide right here
I already tryied to revive my phone with this guide, but with no success...
I was thinking that maybe someone can show me the right driver (with all the package of driver that i find i always have no idea which one i've to install)
And maybe someone already tryied to revive a jiayu g4a and know the name of the right preloader, 'cause apparently what i need to do is to download into the SP the right preloader to revive it...
Hello all!
Today i was updating my room and... (fml) pc rebooted or crashed. Anyhow I'm stuck with a pretty brick. Phone is BQ Aquaris E5 FHD (although I',m open to try any other program/driver/rom that can revive it)
I tried flashing it again but it doesn't do anything. Phone get recognized by windows though (as I connect, it install the Mediatek driver) but the Smart Phone Flash Tool cant start any process. Any ideas that can bring the phone back? I have limited knowledge on phones but not on computers, if there's any linux distribution, SDK android, anything... make me know and I'lll try.
I've tried pressing buttons in all forms/variations. I think i need a program that can hard flash the phone.
Thanks in advance!
Riskke
opens the phone disconnects the battery, reconnects it, flashes the firmware, and then installs the rom.
I rooted my ZTE Grand X Z777 w/Qualcomm chipset... Android is Jelly Bean 4.3 and Cricket Wireless is the vendor, (but I'm an American and I live in Omaha, Nebraska, United States....) I rooted with Kingoroot without doing enough research like a dummy and I lost power before I got a custom recovery installed. I flashed with TWRP and it erased everything on the phone. I need a stock rom that is not MT6572. My imei is (was)... 864642021470202... I see the same MT6572.zip on every site and I've checked at least 100. The thing is... Zte made more than one Grand X Z777. This is the MTK chipset and everyone in America that I've talked to are all looking for the Qualcomm chipset. Jelly Bean 4.3 (not 4.2), and snapdragon 200 or 220. I don't understand why people think that you can flash a Qualcomm chip with an Mtk image, system, boot... Please tell me how if it can be done... It's all wrong and it doesn't work. Nothing works. The driver is Z777 and it's in my C:\Windows\System32\drivers\UMDF\WpdMtpDr.dll and I had to write some code to even get anything done at all. I'm just going to ask XDA because everyone has got it wrong for this phone. Mine was stuck at 0% right after the logo screen trying to load an upgrade from sd card. Wouldn't get reconized by windows unless I held down both volume buttons with power off and plugged it into pc. Adb, fastboot, Ubuntu, would not see it. Error: device not found 'null'... I finally managed to get recovery on it by magically unlocking the bootloader of a device stuck in bootloop and not recognized. Not sure how I did it but I did. I did an md5 check and 6 files were wrong. So I had no radio, imei, no ip address, no mac address.... No way to update but I got usb debugging turned back on and still could not find a stock rom that would work. Now it's back in a bootloop trying to load an update from sd card and the bootloader is locked again... HELP...????..... PLEASE??????????? my email is [email protected] or [email protected].com

I suggest that you go to this link https://www.zteusa.com/zte-grandx#support and contact the support team (Contact Support) instead.
And no, Mediatek software WILL OBVIOUSLY NOT WORK on qualcomm hardware!
Edit: I found this! https://www.stockrom.net/2017/08/st...nd-x-z777-cricket-android-4-3-jelly-bean.html
Not sure if it's for Qualcomm version or MTK, but you can try it (password for archive is given in the article).
Still searching
Well I still haven't found firmware but I have a bunch of bin files from the automated server QPST. I just found them but now what? And ZTE is no help. They won't even tell me why some Z777's are msm8210 and some msm8610... Found out there's also serious problems with both of those boards. They want me to send it in and pay more than what the phone even costs. It's stuck in recovery mode trying to load an update and there is no menu. Stays at 0%
