Benchmark (Collecting Thread) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

So Hello at first =)
I wan´t that we Collecting the Benchmark scores about Rom/ Version to show that a newer Android version really is faster or maybe the same.
And to show what a AGNI kernel can make for Performance boost.
I Would say for comparison we using these apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antutu.ABenchMark
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.antutu.benchmark.full
and this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.futuremark.pcmark.android.benchmark
So i can´t taken a screenshot in Experimental CM 14.1 that i write:
Antutu: 81826
3D:19988
UX:29204
CPU:25002
RAM:7632
PCMarkForAndroid is:
Work 2.0 performance Score: 4867
Web Browsing 2.0: 4207

FAQ:
GPU overclock reduces performance on my phone. Why? OR I'm getting low scores on benchmark? OR I get low fps? (Don't be dumb to ask this question again and again).
A: I really don't know the reason. But if it doesn't work for you, download this and flash it using CWM/TWRP without wipe.
What is a kernel? Why should I install it?
A: Click here to know the answer.
How to Change RAMDISK ?
A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52449925&postcount=525
Will this work on all MT6589 Phones?
A: NO!
Is this kernel compatible with all ROMs?
A: Yes. But for ROMs not based on stock, (like MiUi and ColoOS) you have to replace ramdisk.
Will this work on other clones like MyPhone A919i, Wiko Cink 5, Fly IQ451 ?
A: YES. It will work
Is this kernel recommended for daily use?
A: Yes!
My phone lags a lot on V2.0. Why?
A:Because you are on 1.5GHz by default. Download Set CPU from playstore and set max frequency to 1.2GHz.
What are the best governor+io combinations?
A: Hotplug+cfq, Smartassv2+cfd, Sakuractive+cfq. You can try others and report!
How to use doubletap2wake and sweep2wake?
A: Download trickster mod app from playstore, Open "specific" tab in that app and enable s2w, d2w. Also tick on kernel settings to make your settings stay after a reboot. Also Refer this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51893190&postcount=420

Do a nandroid backup of your rom before flashing.
About the zip, did the mt6628_fm_xx_xx.bin doesn't need to be into directory KashKernel_Alpha1.zip\system\etc\firmware\mt6628\ ?

It belongs to the firmware directory. I've added etc folder to fix Wifi and bluetooth.
I'm on stock 4.2 (P10) and clearly camera doesn't work for me.
Btw, it would be great if you people can fix camera by extracting necessary files from 4.1 because the camera works perfectly on 4.1. So, it means that it is not the problem with kernel.

Are you able to see which parts decreased in Antutu? Was it the CPU score? I know that if you use some of the other governors instead of hotplug, some of the cpu cores get turned off and you'll only have 1 or 2 active.

If you're talking about the alpha 2 then yes it will be laggy unless you change the governor.
And sorry bro, I have 30KB/s connection here so it is impossible to upload the full source, but I'll upload required changes.

Antutu score has gone down to around 10k, I think it is because of the unstable graphics. Thanks for informing me about the 5MP Camera, I will look into that in my next build.

[ROM&Kernel][P700][Reviews]Reviews of ROMs and Kernels for P700

Hi guys!I open this thread to a discussion of p700 ROMs!
I am starting with some reviews of much p700 ROMs.I will list strenghts and weaknesses of all ROMs.
First(and official):
Cyanogenmod 10(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184749)
This is an official build of the famous cyanogenmod.This is among the fastets and stables ROMs of this device.It has classical cyanogenmod features and personalizations.You simply personalize rapid toggle,lockscreen,status bar and some additional options in developer options.But this ROM is special for its speed.It is very stable and it is very speed.Your phone is a new quad-core with it hahaha:fingers-crossed:.Free RAM is on 150-170 MB on first boot.
Strenghts:
Speed and smooth ROM,one of the speedest ROM for this device;
It is the famous cyanogenmod,and it is official
Stable;
Stable and very speed(but It is almost perfect!!!);
Weaknesses:
It is a cyanogenmod,and it has few customizations in comparison to other ROM,as paranoid android or AOKP;
It is only JellyBean,as stock ROM;
Probabilly,It is discontinued;
Second:
Cyanogenmod 10.2(by turbosdir)(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2396115)
It is an unoffical ROM of the famous cyanogenmod based on 4.3 JellyBean.It is considered very fast,but,but...It is very unstable.First of all,if you don't wipe cache and dalvik cache before boot,you can have a bootloop.It is a serious problem for daily use,because boot is veery slow with cache and dalvik cache always wiped.I used it,but it don't appear very fast and smooth.It appear a normal ROM,not speed and not slow.To discourage for the bootloops.
Strenghts:
It is the famous cyanogenmod;
It is based on 4.3 JellyBean,more updated than stock ROM;
It is considered very speed(but I have not seen a lot of speed,maybe because I instantly uninstalled It for bootloops);
Weaknesses:
It is a cyanogenmod,and It has a few of personalizations than other ROMs,as AOKP or paranoid android;
Bootloops(serious problem);
Sometimes camera not work(fixable,how to on thread of cm10.2);
It is discontinued;
Third:
Cyanogenmod 11(by IMER)(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791132)
It is an unofficial build for p700 of cyanogenmod 11 by IMER.This ROM is famous on xda,and it was recently updated with a new build.IMER work hard to this ROM,and It is a good compromise for who want to use a stable and not slow kitkat build on his p700.This ROM is very stable,at cm10 level.But It isn't the speedest kitkat ROM on xda.Yes,It is speed,but ins't very awesome:before the latest build,It was some moments of freeze(1-2 at day).But with new buil,some freeze
disappeared.It is stable,and with latest build It appear moore fast than before,but It has already some minor lags.
Strenghts:
It is the famous cyanogenmod 11;
It is a very stable ROM,like cm10,but with kitkat;
It is a good compromise of stability and speed;
It have some comfortable pre-installed apps;
It is a 4.4 kitkat ROM,more updated than stock;
Weaknesses:
It is a cyanogenmod,and It has a few of personalizations than other ROMs,as AOKP or paranoid android;
Not awesome speed;
Fourth:
AOKP 4(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2650983)
It is a cr3pt's ROM based on AOKP project.This is a ROM with an incredible RAM management.It work very fino also with 3-4 open apps.In antutu,RAM speed Is 749,very very good RAM management,and ROM speed is incredible,too.But:It Is unstable.Bugs appear after only one day of use.And not minor bugs.For example,I can't modify wallpaper or open ROM contrl(with AOKP settings).This isn't reccomended for a daily use.
Strenghts:
An incredible RAM management;
It is an AOKP,and It has a lot of personalizations;
A very speed ROM;
Android version:4.4 kitkat,more updated tha stock ROM;
Weaknesses:
Unstable;
A very bad launcher;
A few of pre-installed apps;
It is discontinued;
Fifth:
Cyanogenmod11(by cr3pT)(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521239)
It's a cr3pT ROM based on CM and TeamHackLG sources.It is a cyanogenmod 11 based on 4.4.2.The ROM is in beta version,and It is different than IMER ROM.First of all,It is slower tha IMER build,and It is 4.4.2,IMER's cm11 is a 4.4.4.Second thing,this cm11 is discontinued,because cr3pT hasn't p700 now.The ROM isn't very speed in my opinion.It has frequently some minor lag,very annoying.IMER's cm11 It's better than It,and It isn't discontinued,and sometimes systemUI crash.
Strenghts:
It is the famous cyanogenmod;
It is a 4.4.2,more updated than stock ROM;
Weaknesses:
It ins't very speed,It has some minor lags;
It is a cyanogenmod,and It has a few of personalizations than other ROMs,as AOKP or paranoid android;
It is discontinued;
Sometimes systemUI crash;
Sixth:
PAC MAN ROM 4.3 all in 1(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412002)
This is a special ROM,because It has all settings of AOKP,AOSPA(paranoid android) 3.97 and CM10.2.It appear very speed,but with a great use of RAM(100-150 free).And I also found a bug:if you use gapps,sometimes you phone have a blue screen and It will be reboot,in charging mode.It is a seriously bu.I tried to wipe cache,dalvik cache and data,but nothing.But you can use ROM without gapps.
Strenghts:
It has all CM10.2,AOKP and paranoid android 3.97(AOSPA)settings;
It is very speed;
It is 4.3 JellyBean,more updated than stock ROM;
Weaknesses:
A lot of RAM used,and some apps crash;
Gapps are buggy;
Seventh:
Official PAC MAN 4.4(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769502)
It is a PAC MAN ROM with some settings of the most popular ROM,all in 1.This ROM is very fast,at the cost of RAM as PAC MAN 4.3.But I found a seriously bug in this ROM:device doesn't find internal and external sd.And gapps not work,too.I don't know the reason of this bugs,but I found them,I don't know about other users.The ROM is unusable,you can use only pre-installed apps.
Strenghts:
It is a PAC MAN,with some settings of most popular ROMs;
It is very speed;
It is a 4.4 kitkat,more updated than stock ROM;
Weaknesses:
This ROM is speed at the cost of RAM,only 100-120 MB free,and some apps crash;
It is unusable,because internal and external sd are not detected;
Gapps not work;
Eighth:
Vanir ROM 4.4.2(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433625)
This ROM is based on Vanir sources(4.4.2).IMER's Cm11 is specially for its stability,Cm10 is famous for its speed and stability,AOKP 4 is famous for its RAM management,and this ROM would be famous because It is the fastest ROM for p700.The animations fluidity Is awesome,notification bar isn't laggy,and notification bar in other 4.4 ROMs is veery laggy.Game performance are a little better than other ROMs.But It has some minor bugs,for example after boot you must to lock and unlock your phone or your touch doesn't work,or headphones doesn't work fine with ui sounds(you can install an audio mod to try to fix It,or you can delete or rename ui sounds folder and reboot,but after you don't have ui sounds).For some users,camera not work fine,but It work fine by me.You have the cm11's features with some anothers features,as Halo.Animations are fluid,but you can't modify them.This ROM has a really great performance control,with advanced options.But sometimes systemUI crash.
Strenghts:
It is the fastest ROM for p700;
It is based on 4.4,more updated than stock ROM;
It has almost all features of cyanogenmod,with comfortable additional features by developer;
It has a really great performance control,It has advanced controls;
It has Halo;
Weaknesses:
It is some buggy for some users(but It work veery fine by me);
Probabilly It is discontinued;
Sometimes systemUI crash...;
Ninth
Carbon ROM 4.4(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638321)
This is a ROM based on carbon sourcesAs vanir ROM,this ROM Is a very fast ROM,almost at vanir level,with a little "defect":the animations are normal,not speed,vanir has a speed animations.But this defect Is "fixable"if you disable animations,and then you have a carbon ROM as speed as vanir ROM.Carbon has a lot of personalizzations,more than vanir.It has PIE,navigation bar,navigation ring and others functionsbut It hasn't HALO.Carbon is more stable than vanir,then It is my favourite ROM(additional).This ROM is for p705,but you can use a p700 kernel(I used this:https://www.dropbox.com/s/j99egayjkntgfo6/Cr3pt%20kernel.zip)
Strenghts:
It has a lot of personalizations;
It is almost stable;
It is very speed(without animations);
It is based on 4.4,more updated than stock;
It has almost all cyanogenmod personalizations;
Weaknesses:
Few pre-installated apps;
It hasn't HALO;
Sometimes systemUI crash...(as vanir);
Tenth:
CM10 Avatar extreme(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335249)
ROM based of CM10 official.This is an avatar ROM,then It whould has a different graphic,but I don't see a lot of differences from CM10.This ROM is the fastest JellyBean ROM for this device:It has a lot of performance optimizations,and It has the CM10 stability.It is very stable,and It Is fast and smooth.The perfect ROM for this device,better than Carbon,Vanir,official CM10 and others...but It has a custom bootloader,and It can be dangerously.
Strenghts:
It has the same functions of official Cyanogenmod 10;
Based on official CM10,It is very stable;
Gapps icluded on ROM zip;
Modded play store;
Phenom kernel included;
Fastest ROM JB for this device;
(Additional)Very beautiful bootanimation;
Weaknesses:
It is a 4.1 JellyBean,the same version as stock;
Included custom bootloader(It can be dangerously);
Because It has the same functions as CM10,other ROMs,as paranoid android or AOKP,have more functions;
Eleventh:
Cyanogenmod 10.1(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2339781)
Unofficial build,this CM10.1 is probabilly one of the best ROM,if It hasn't camera problem.In fact,It is a very speed ROM,stable,with an only problem to camera.Camera doesn't work fine,and probabilly this ROM is discontinued,then camera probabilly will be never fix in future.Except camera,all work very very fine:the speed is impressive,but game and opening apps are more slow than CM10,but ROM has a very fluid animations.If you don't care to camera,you can use this fantastic ROM!
Strenghts:
It is the famous cyanogenmod;
It is one of the fastest ROM for this device;
It is stable and,except camera,all work fine;
It is a 4.2,more updated than stock;
Weaknesses:
Camera issue;
It is a cyanogenmod,and It has a few of personalizations than other ROMs,as AOKP or paranoid android;
Camera probabilly will be never fixed in futur;
And what's your favourite ROM?Comment
Reviews of kernel:
First:
Gandalf kernel OC 2.1.1(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2254513)
This kernel work only with cyanogenmod 10.Kernel OC,with It your phone has 384 MB RAM usable for user(not specially).But It has a stable OC,It work fine with 1.3 Ghz too.The kernel is stable,not freeze or casuals reboot,but It hasn't specials functions(except OC and zRAM)
Strenghts:
OC;
Stable OC;
zRAM 10-26%;
Weaknesses:
Not GPU OC;
You have only 384 MB RAM usable with It(for example,with phenom you have 404 MB usable);
Not impressive speed with Its OC;
Second:
Phenom kernel v4.7(thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619072)
First of all,It is a fantastic kernel.You have an usable OC to 1.3 Ghz,but you can use only frequiencies from 120Mhz to 1200Mhz,because higer frequencies than 1200 are very unstable,attenction.But It has a lot of features:GPU OC,swap,zRAM,a lot of governors and schedulers and other optimizations for better performance.Almodt perfect.It is very impressive for Its speed.Cyanogenmod 10 and phenom kernel are a perfect compination,CM10.1 version boot fine,but has a little graphic problem when Phone is booting
Strenghts:
Very very speed kernel;
CPU OC(max 1200 Mhz);
GPU OC;
404 MB RAM usable for user;
A lot of scheduler and frequencies;
zRAM support,and other optimizations;
Compatible also with Cyanogenmod 10.1;
Weaknesses:
CPU OC higer than 1200 Mhz is very unstable(but anyway It is very speed,no problem:fingers-crossed;
Cyanogenmod 10.1 version has a little graphic issue at boot(but anyway phone boot succesfully);
Vanir is best IMO, although i didn't try all of these ROMs

Velocity Kernel (3.10.108) v3.0 for M and N ROMs

After a lot of testing and hours of hard-work, I have developed a Kernel based on the Latest Sources. As the name of the Kernel suggests, the primary focus of the Kernel is Speed and Performance. As a result, I have fine-tuned and optimized this Kernel to Perform in the best possible manner. However, I haven't missed to look into the Battery issues of the phone. A lot of effort has been made to Fix unnecessary Consumption of Battery along with regulated CPU usage. Further, I have worked really hard to include almost all Features and Fixes so as to make my Kernel the most feature-packed All-in-One solution.
Main Features---
Display---
Support for kCAL Colour Control v2.0 (enhances Colour Vibrance and Intensity). (available as a Screen TAB in Kernel Adiutor).
Support for Governors---
Interactive
OnDemand
Performance
Support for I/O Schedulers---
BFQ v7r8 with Hierarchical Scheduling
NOOP
CPU---
Support for Power Efficient WorkQueue to reduce Power-Consumption (available in CPU tab of Kernel Adiutor).
GPU---
Support for ADRENO-IDLER algorithm (saves a lot of Battery by reducing GPU Frequency to minimum when there is less load).
Memory---
Support for Swap, FrontSwap, and zSwap Techniques (improve Performance significantly when zRAM is Full).
Support for CleanCache Driver (improves I/O Performance).
Support for zsmAlloc with Page-Table Mapping Technique (improves Memory Performance).
Support for zRAM with LZ4 compression algorithm (improves performance by saving memory).
Sound---
Support for Faux Sound Control (Modified by ME).
Support for 4 Gains---Headphones, Speaker, Microphone and Video Recording Microphone.
Provides ability to Increase or Decrease Volume beyond Default Limits.
Support for Controlling Volumes separately for left and right Headphones.
Note---
As of now, only Headphones Gain and Mic Gain works. You can't use this to Increase the Speaker Volume.
Optimizations and Tweaks---
Based on the Latest Sources available for Lenovo Vibe P1.
Disabled CRC-Check for upto 30% Faster I/O Performance.
Compiled with UberTC 4.9.4 Optimized for 64-BIT (Uber uses the latest of every component as well as increases the Battery-Life too).
Disabled Debug-Info (should reduce the size of the kernel making it lighter).
Notes---
1. This Kernel only works on Official Stock ROM (Marshmallow) and Nougat Custom ROMs.
Installation Instructions---
1. Before Flashing this Kernel, Download Universal init.d App from Play Store and after Granting Root Permission to the App, Enable Emulation option and Exit the App.
2. To Download the Kernel, head over to the ChangeLogs and Downloads post and select the Version of Kernel you want.

Velocity Kernel is now available for Lenovo Vibe P1 !!!
Changelog (v1.0)---
1. All the Features Supported which are mentioned in the First Post.
2. Tons of Optimizations and Improvements to the Default Configuration of the Kernel.
3. A Lot of Unnecessary Drivers have been Removed from the Kernel to make it Clutter-Free (reduces the Size of Kernel and makes it Lighter).
4. A Few Fixes to the Source Code of Lenovo Vibe P1.
5. The Kernel Boots with a Default Set of Optimal Settings (Vibrant Display Settings, Efficient CPU-Settings, etc.).
Notes---
1. I Don't own this Device but my Brother does. Since he was with me for a week, I decided to Build him a Kernel. That's why, I am sharing this Kernel here. The Kernel is Tested to be Stable and works Fine on Nougat Based Custom ROMs.
2. My Primary Devices are Yu Yureka Plus and Yu Yureka Black. I have Developed Kernels and A Few MODs for all Yu-Devices in Yu-Forums and that's where I remain Active.
3. In this Version, I haven't included many Advanced Features (that I have Built for Yu-Devices) because I didn't have the time to Test them on this Device as my Brother went back to his place. So, if you people want Advanced Features such as OverClock, Improvements to Tasks-Scheduling, a Better Thermal System, etc., then you people will need to Test my Builds and Report. If I could find Reliable Testers here, then I'll surely bring many of my Advanced Features here.
Notice---
Before Flashing this Kernel, do READ the Instructions Given in the First Post!

This Kernel is Based on Stock Source. So, if it was working on Stock Kernel, then it will work in this too.

In Kernel Adiutor's Sound TAB, you'll see 4 Gains. Out of them, currently, only three work, Headphones, Mic and CamCorder. So, if you want your Mic to record your voice while Calling at a higher volume, you can increase the Mic Gain. Similarly, you can increase the Gain of the Ear-Piece (to listen while calling, the other person's voice at a higher volume) and Headphones (to listen to music at a higher volume).

Yes, I would like to. I didn't introduce it in this version because I didn't have the Device to test.
So, if you and a few other people are willing to test, then I'll introduce a Few Advanced Features gradually.

[Kernel] [LineageOS_15.1] [KLTE] OreKazu-Kernel Project [BETA]

Welcome to OreKazu-Kernel Project
My main objective for this kernel project is to somewhat keep it simple but include a few features that I find useful , it won't be bloated with all the features out there.
I decided to share this kernel (at first it was a personal project ) with the great S5 community. Im a noob at this so don't expect much (lol) , as far as I know this kernel was complied under KLTE but my variant is a KLTEVZW , so my guess any other variant that can run KLTE kernels this should work as well.
OreKazu-Kernel is still in beta stages but it still works very well.
* Features of this Kernel*
- 268mhz CPU
- Smartmax eps CPU Gov
- CPU Boost
- Input Boost
- CPU Voltage Control
- Mako Hotplug
- GPU Overclocked to 600mhz ( since LOS15.1 still has a power drain issue higher gpu freq will def drain even more , keep that in mind )
- GPU Overclocked to 657mhz
- GPU UnderClocked to 27mhz
- Adreno Idler
- Kcal
- USB Fast Charge
- Kernel Samepage Merging
- LMK (soon switching to @fbs 's version)
- Few TCP Congestion Algorithm
- and maybe other features to come..

OreKazu-Kernel v1.6 Released
check the OP for download link (updated as always)
Check reserved for changes made to the kernel.
Enjoy!!
Update
V2.0 is now out .
Kernel as been started back off from the ground ( :crying: ) up due to some issues i faced , heck it might start off from scratch again but that time it would be due a switch to a different ( new laptop) workstation.
-sound control was removed due to instabilities from initial Lin15-1 so adding sound control only made it worst ( in my experience)
-a few other stuff are not added back yet but a few thing were added.
- since this is not stable/official release i won't bore you with the details , as always same download link from OP is updated to current release.
OreKazu-Kernel-Rebased_v1.0
This is just a re-base launch ( yep started from scratch again lol ) but decided to switch it up a little .
Pretty much the same features with some new added ones that were not in the original Orekazu-Kernel.
Latest Lin15-1 kernel commits as of today.
Also added another gpu gov , and i dont remember if the other Orekazu-Kernel had the added cpu frequencies.
Download link in OP.
Enjoy!!

I will look into it , ive never heard of wire guard b4 , but it is an interesting feature. Can't say for sure that it will work unless you know of another samsung kernel that already had the support in it ( that would be much helpful ) , but i will take a crack at it and see if it will work and not cause a loss in anyway.:highfive:

It will be difficult to include Wireguard support to any klte kernel atm as it is only available and intended to work on Linux Kernel versions 3.10.y and above.

3.10.x kernels and up? , then sadly it wont be able to be supported.
i guess the only option is if Lineage can support it unless it depends on the kernel aspect as well ,if so then thats a no-go for WireGuard.:crying:
Hi.. Awesome kernel.. Btw i manage to port it on hlte with lineage defconfig... I got many features but some are missing and may not work properly because u're using MSM8974PRO.. Can u support MSM8974 too?? Thanx.. Im new in this kind of things btw..

as @kenedielh stated , it will overtime burn(sort of speak)out your device, kill the cpu at one point , also to avoid even more battery drain as Lineage has not fully fix battery drain plus the gpu is at 657mhz compared to stock 578mhz max , also due to past experience testing 3.0ghz its very unstable so keeping max at 2.4ghz is the best course of action in this kernel's case. For example when i was testing Venom Kernel my max cpu freq was always set at 15xxmhz and nothing more and gpu at 657mhz max and between a 100-105 - undervolt ( silicon lottery , your mileage may vary ) .
Also since this is just beta thread im just compiling , testing and sharing builds here , Stable release when ready and very stable/smooth/and power efficient even for gamers like myself , it will be in the Unified section and this beta project will be deleted , think of this as a rough-draft for the main thing to come.( hopefully)

You need to update your lineage to @haggertk's ( taking this opportunity to thank @haggertk ) latest build , i doubt my kernel will work on an old build of lineage since many changes have been made on both kernel and rom sides.
Yours: Kernel date : december 2017
Rom : december 2017
Heres the latest klte build : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939820275 " download and flash it then flash OreKazu-Kernel-Rebased right after "
that what everyone else is using if running this kernel , both have to be up to date.

Which ROM to choose if I liked LineageOS?

I can now unlock bootloader on my POCO X3 NFC. It is for Russian market and my current ROM is 12.0.3.0(QJGRUXM). According to manuals I've read, I'll have to flash International ROM V12.0.(3 or 4 or 5).0.QJGMIXM first, otherwise Wi-Fi and Bluetooth won't work.
I'm having difficulties selecting custom ROM. I hoped community could help me.
I'd like to have on my POCO X3 NFC:
MicroG or OpenGapps Pico.
AFWall+ (needs root)
AdAway (needs root)
AppOpsX (needs root)
F-Droid
Google Play Market
K-9 Mail
NewPipe
YouTube Vanced
KeePassDX
OpenKeyChain
I'd like to avoid installing SuperSU. I'd prefer Magisk.
I'll have to install banking software so SafetyNet checks must be passed OK.
Previously I've tried and liked LineageOS on my Mi 5s (capricorn).
I've watched on YT reviews of ArrowOS (looked like LineageOS to me) and RessurectionRemix (it seems to have intimidating quantity of customization options).
Considering above, which custom ROM you'd recommend for me to install?
Currently I'm looking at:
[ROM][10] LineageOS 17.1 (unofficial) [SURYA]KARNA]
[ROM] [11.0.0] ArrowOS POCO X3 [OFFICIAL][SURYA] - Vanilla build.
[ROM] ► [11.0] ► Nitrogen OS Beta
BTW, Android 10 or 11?
ArrowOS (Android 11) + F1xy kernel
You need to flash latest MIUI before flashing ArrowOS. You can download latest xiaomi.eu ROM and than flash ArrowOS to make it easier. Current latest MIUI version is 12.0.7 for surya & 12.0.8 for karna. You will have vanilla or gapps ArrowOS. Choose Gapps build. Install Magisk in TWRP after flashing ArrowOS & kernel. SafetyNet passes out of the box. seLinux is enforcing. Signature spoofing is supported.
So this are the steps for installing ArrowOS + F1xy kernel:
0. Unlock bootloader
1. Flash latest TWRP/OrangeFox recovery with fastboot command: fastboot flash recovery name-of-recovery.img
2. Be sure that you're on latest MIUI version (MIUI 12.0.7 for surya, 12.0.8 for karna)
2a. If you're not on MIUI but on custom ROM at the moment, you need to flash latest xiaomi.eu ROM (12.0.7 at the moment) with TWRP/OrangeFox than Format Data, Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
3. After you booted xiaomi.eu, reboot to TWRP/OrangeFox, Flash all this packages in order:
- ArrowOS
- F1xy custom kernel
- Magisk
4. Format Data, Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
5. Reboot.
Now you're on ArrowOS.
BTW, I prefer Aqua Mail to K9 Mail as it's much better optimized & has amazing features.
Thanks, @SkaboXD. Kind of. I specifically mentioned I want to avoid proprietary GApps. And assessing programs list one could tell that I prefer Free (as in Freedom) and OpenSource programs.
Also, I have very serious privacy and safety concerns installing custom kernel. I trust AOSP much more.

Than install Vanilla build of ArrowOS instead and flash Gapps you want (OpenGapps, NikGapps or FlameGapps...) and don't install F1xy kernel. You will miss on useful features & increased performance with good battery life though. And if you're concerned about privacy, why are you using Gapps in the first place?

Open Gapps is a different kind of animal. Unavoidable evil. But I want to decrease harm done to me.
If I was really concerned about privacy and health, I wouldn't use spying tracker cell phone at all.
If you're into privacy I *really* can recommend FairEmail ... you can also get releases from Github: https://github.com/M66B/FairEmail
Pretty much on the same boat as OP...
FYI, after trying a couple of the custom ROMs, I settled on Xiaomi.eu (currently v12.0.7.0 stable) for the time being and am waiting for PX3 LineageOS 17.1 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/4202533/) to become official -- and the MicroG build which will ensue and my preferred target ROM.
On the subject of GApps, I still want to retain access to the Google app store, I just want to avoid my device being colonized by the big G. Last I checked -- through ClassyShark3xodus -- no app required as many permissions as Google Play Services: way over 200, no less, seemingly every possible one!
Time will tell, I guess.

My experience with LineageOS with Open GApps Pico on Capricorn (Mi 5s) confirms that Google Play is working fine. All synchronization is working. All confirmations (you are trying to log in on other device: please check your phone) are working. Banking software is working.
I chose to wait for LineageOS with another custom ROM installed. I've decided to install ArrowOS. Maybe I'll stay on it.
For the history. I'll add benchmark data here as I move through ROMs.

Hey there, I'm saving your mini guide to use on my Poco X3 when it arrives early next month.
However, let me ask you: is that rom really stable for a daily driver? I don't want to keep changing roms because of things breaking up like GPS, NFC, Banking apps etc.

Everything works. I don't use NFC, I just tried Android Beam with Nokia 808 Pureview and it didn't worked. Couldn't send the file with Poco X3 while i could send the file with Nokia 808 Pureview. However, that could be the incompatibility with Symbian. Didn't test it any further.

On 31.01.2021 I have installed ArrowOS. I used Orange Fox recovery. Contrary to all installation manuals, my very first boot into ArrowOS was like 30 seconds or less. And it was encrypted.
I've RTFM and installation went smooth and fast.
So far I like ArrowOS a lot. Sleek and fast. However, LineageOS seems to have more customization options.
And I can't make Text-to-Speech engine to work. I've already sent a bug report with LOG file to developers.
SELinux: Enforcing.

Hey there, I'm saving your mini guide to use on my Poco X3 when it arrives early next month.
However, let me ask you: is that rom really stable for a daily driver? I don't want to keep changing roms because of things breaking up like GPS, NFC, Banking apps etc.

Banking apps work fine and so does NFC, I use contactless NFC payment almost on a daily basis.
Safety net passes right out of the box so banking apps will have no problem with it.
ArrowOS + stock ArrowOS kernel.
Hello I'm looking for a ROM without Gapps which allows me to pass SafetyNet check? Is that possible?
I have already tried crDroid, ArrowOS and StagOS.
Tried Universal SafetyNet Fix, MagiskHide Props Config, no success unfortunately, maybe I'm missing something or maybe it's not even possible to pass SafetyNet without Gapps.
Any help is appreciated.

Same kind of config, LOS unofficial works fine (except for the more advanced versions of bluetooth APTX codec).

LOS17.1 unofficial passes safetynet (method to use is described in first or third post of thread)
If only LOS (for microG) would already be official for the POCO X3 NFC, then the decision which way to go would be crystal clear to me!
But I have to decide now and I want OTA + signature spoofing (to be able to use microG instead of Gapps), which currently has set my mind on ArrowsOS for simplicity and stability.
Not having any experience with ArrowsOS yet, I don't know if I'm going to stick to it or will move over to LOS for microG once that one is officially available.
The main advantages of using LOS for microG are the included backup solution, call recorder and of course microG, which is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will give it a try, I tries LOS 18 without success.

Have you been able to pass SafetyNet with ArrowOS and MicroG?

no ROM with MicroG installed (in its current state) will pass safety net (and I tried really hard - no dice)
