Improved stock android battery total standby calculation? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear developers,
Thanks for your great apps and support. Thanks to many of you my Samsung G901F can last about 3 days standby. The stock rom 6.01 only gave about 30 hours. I used CF auto root, greenify, Xposed framework, Amplify, setCPU, Appopsxposed, Bootmanager, Wakelock detector pro...
But I still got an question: Can someone program a better battery standby app and replace the stock?
The android 6.01 stock battery standby calculation is deceptive. If you use the phone in the beginning, like play a game for a few minutes it will remember and keep that battery usage in the equation to calculate your future usage.
This is just strange! Because the same usage cycle usually never repeats.
Perfect calculation would be to have 2 calculations and shown to user:
1) add an option that calculates standby time as in deep sleep battery drain .
2) and another calculation based on current drain (screen on, using app). So there are actually 2 different calculations.
Did someone program such app or stock battery calculation ?

[Q] Battery life problem in lg p500

There are always a lot of running apps which waste a lot of ram and power..
This is significantly reducing battery life and overall performance..
Using task killer has no effect as those apps automaticaly start running again
Please suggest a remedie
Sorry to tell you, but you have to inform yourself about how Android OS works.
1. You don't need task killers - they are useless !
2. Apps are stored in RAM so that they can be relaunched faster.
3. Apps stored in RAM do not drain battery. Only active apps drain battery.
4. Check wikipedia for further info.
Thanx for dispeling my myth..
Can u also give me some suggestions 4 increasing battery life..
And also can u tell me an app that will tell me hw much battery is being consumed by each app or process on my phone?
For battery increasing try disabling 3G/Wi-fi/Bluetooth/GPS when not used. Put screen brightness at about 60%. I only do this and I always manage 2 days with moderate to intensive usage.
Download Spare Parts from Market. You can see there everything you want regarding to battery.

[Q] Battery Issues

Hello everybody,
Since a couple of days I use the Streak with Pocket Informant as my agenda and tasks / project manager. before that I used my Palm Treo for that, but the screen is so amazing... how can one ignore that
Anyways, normally the battery wouldn't drain that much but I noticed since I use the streak as my main agenda the battery life isn't great at all anymore.
I already disabled the autosync option for Pocketinformant(tasks) and the agenda(stock), but it doesn't seem to have any effect. For example battery indicator pro says my battery is used as following:
- 1h 30 min since 100% charge @ 92%
mobile stand-by 45%
wifi 26%
phone inactive 22%
display 5% (it is set at 0% brightness)
android system 2%
Before I made the agenda change the battery would be at 98 / 95% or so. I wouldn't say I use the phone more than I did before and I can't imagine that the stock agenda consumes that much. Pocket Informant reads events from the stock agenda and is a separate tasks manager.
Do any of you have an idea about what I can do too see what is up with the drainage or is there a solution?
Thanks in advance,
ps: while typing this post it dropped to 90%

[Q] How to prolong battery life of mini pro / Alternative to Juice defender??

Hi, I own a Xperia mini pro. My first android phone .I have rooted my phone. The phone's ROM hasn't been changed. I'm using root apps like CPU Master, Auto Manager Memory, SD card speed increase etc. Default launcher is GO launcher.
I had read in many forums that rooting a phone and using softwares like CPU Master may increase the battery life. Currently my average battery life is around 12-14 hours. It was the same when I hadn't rooted my phone. I leave HSDPA data transfer always on. That might be one of the contributors in draining the battery faster. I used to use Juice defender earlier. Though it seemed to increase my phone's battery life (mainly because of my setting to switch data transfer off when screen is off 'but' allow data transfer for only some selected apps even when screen is off), it used to make my phone laggy. I've used other apps like green power, tasker and others.. While they switch off data when screen is off, none of them have option to enable data for selected apps even when screen is off(which i need because most of my friends use apps like whatsapp, facebook messenger or gtalk to message me). I've also removed some system apps, like fun and downloads, popcap etc. Could I use any alternatives for the apps mentioned above which consume lesser battery? Or is improving battery life on rooting only possible when ROM and kernels are changed
Plz suggest an alternative to juicedefender that allows me to do what i want. And it'l be really helpfull if someone who has achieved prolonging his/her mini pro's battery life gives me some tips on the same.
33 1/2 hours since I posted this question. And still no reply.. I'm disappointed
Hope this helps.
Hi,
Bro u have a rooted phone , but you don't have a custom ROM that means that you can not overclock or under clock your mobile, so using cup master or set cpu will not help you.
Solution can be u an flash a new ROM having an overclocked kernel or you can flash a overclocked kernel to your current stock ROM or if you don't want to do any of this simply uninstall cpu manager as it will be eating unnecessary juice from your battery and not helping in any way.
Auto memory manager does improves battery life but only a bit, it basically controls the apps killing rate i.e. it manages how much RAM should remain free at all times helps improves performance of you phone, so don't use an aggressive profile because it will kill apps (background or paused or closed) very frequently which in turn will lead to use of your battery, instead use a mild or less aggressive or default settings this will improve both performance of your phone and use lesser juice as compared to a aggressive setting.
Also keep in mind since u r using Gingerbread so killing apps using task killers after every few minutes will not help , so u can uninstall task killers, also if u need a task killer it is already present in go launcher u can use that.
Juice defender is ultimate app which helps improves battery a lot, but u need to have optimized settings according to your needs.
My advice is use smart profiles by Antutu to create profiles for different timings i.e when you need 3g or wirelss or not as when your are sleeping you don't need wifi or 3g on.
Also best option of saving battery is reducing screen brightness.
You can reduce brightness to 20 % which you are inside the building or working under lights as the screen is properly visible.
And outside in bright sun you can use 35-50% brightness.
Keeping phone at 100% brightness will screw the battery life.
You can use LUX or ambident light senor for automatic brightness setting according to the day light or unnatural light or dark.
hope this helps you.

I forgot to mention point about serious battery saving settings.
1) Use lesser widgets only widgets you really need, as they are battery hogger.
2) Try to reduce push interval for email notification, facebook, twitter, weather widget because using 1-5 min push interval will use a lot of juice, try increasing interval to 30 minutes or more or use manual push if you don't need the notification updates every single minute pooping in. This part eats most amount of battery so if u can change the settings this will improve you battery life a lot.
3) Also watch if any unnecessary services are not running in background, because a lot of apps uses services which eats significant battery , so if there is a application which is not needed at all but is running unnecessary service u can uninstall it if you want, but this is not mandatory.
4) Lastly you can use watchdog app , it log the cpu usage by apps and will let you know which app is eating up a lot of juice. So u can find the culprit and find alternative app for that.

High Current Consumption in idle state | 200-400 ma

Hey Folks,
I am using Stock with manually removed Bloatware. Root and Xposed are installed. My problem is the high current consumption of my Z5c. I get an average idle consumption between 200-450 ma. On my Z3c the consumption is between 50-150ma in idle state.
I tried several kernel. Stock kernel and androplus v20 - v27, in all kernel i get the same high comsumpition with interactive as governor. Brightness at the lowest and WIFI/DATA off. I use Amplify and in WLD i dont see any Problems. I dont use Facebook, only Whatsapp and GMail. Is somebody have the same problem?
Do you get same values?
Sry for my bad english
You should also check what apps are using CPU power. I had a somehow similar problem and found that some apps were pretty hungry.
I checked it already with a process monitor and the biggest cpu user is always system ui. In the battery usage stats of android, the highest usage come from display and android system.
I reflashed the .163 tft three days ago to start with a fresh installation, but the high consumption has remained.
Then maybe there's a setting that you are always making after flashing the system... Live wallpaper?
I have no other idea at the moment...
No live wallpaper or sth like that. Do anybody know the average ma consumption of Z5c?
Or is it the 810?

It's some of the system components or pre-shipped apps,
CM13 e.g. is able to achieve 1% per 4-8 hours or even less in idle (Airplane mode), but Stock ROM seemingly always keeps something in the phone busy,
my current suspicion is the fingerprint scanner, adaptive brightness, tap2wake, etc. - so system-side is keeping kernel-side awake, but wakelock detectors hardly show any wakelocks when most is blocked (e.g. via Amplify)
all of those work without hardly increasing battery consumption in AOSP and CM13;
so the only things left are apps and system services - or proprietary "****" that is hidden behind app-name, services and others
the Snapdragon 810 is a kind of hothead, it consumes quite a lot energy under close to full load but that doesn't explain the idle drain ...
Mine is regularly around 350 give or take a few, that might explain why I only get 4 hours of battery life ?
my widget pro(same app) says -12ma worst case while screen locked
maybe something running at the background
this phone got lot of problems
but battery is the only thing is pretty okay even without stamina
on average usage its about 2 days for me (heavy 1day)
only calls and sms (with data and wifi off even 4-10 days) android 6.0( build.185)
if the battery was li-poly it was abit better
i could solve the problem. It was the xposed module "flat style colored bars" in the current version ( from 2 May 2016; Version 2.1.0), which caused this high idle current consumption. I deinstalled also the latest "goolge play services" update. It was hard to find the guilty.
Now it is back to 100-150ma in idle state. This Thread can be closed.
Thank you for all your help.

How did you narrow it down to that app? I don't have that module installed but use xstana. That could be my problem.
First i listed the running cpu process per adb shell (root, with command top). The Sony Photo Analyzer used up to 20% of the cpu every time, so i removed it. After that, the System UI used the most of the cpu all time. I disabled all xposed modules for testing and voila the consumption was back at 100ma. So i go through the list and enabled the modules one by one and restarted it.
I am using XStana in the latest version, so it could be not the problem in your Phone.
My List of Xposed Modules:
Amplify, AppOpsXposed, Battery Home Icon, Blurred System UI (LP), BootManager, Flat Style Colored Bars (Version 2.0.1), GravityBOX (MM), Navbar music Visualizer, Prevent Running, XLED, XStana, XUIMod, YoutubeAdAway, Youtube Background Playback
So you see, i am using lot of modules, but the perfomance and battery consumption is as normal.
Hope i could help you with this information. It was very time-consuming to find the problem. You should also checkout google play services, revert back for testing to the last version if you dont find any other problem.

E2333 battery fast drain on idle mode

hello everyone,
I used to have great battery life on M4 aqua dual 16GB version E2333 with stamina mode on
it only dropped 1% per hour in idle mode, now it will fall a whole 4-5% in idle mode
the device is only 2 weeks old
the most recent changes I did were installing :
colornote
evernote
google keep
swiftkey beta
and I think I may have logged in facebook app but not sure if this was prior to battery fast drain or not
I checked power management in settings and it is not pointing any fingers toward any battery hogger application
I just need help on how to troubleshoot this and I swear that i will immediately make a full system backup
if it goes back to tiptop shape
I'm using stock android Build 26.1.B.2.147 not rooted
Solved

it doesnt seem to be consistent sometimes the battery will be minimal sometimes not i think it depends on what running in the background however the batery life is acceptable
I sleep 8-9 hours and my battery goes -4%. You should enable more STAMINA features and disable exceptions. You should delete Facebook app since you don't use it. If it doesn't help, considering your phone is not brand new, change your device's battery and don't let it go under 20%.
