Change EULA Selections After the Fact? - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Is there a way to change the selections you made on the EULA screen during the Setup Wizard, specifically changing things like allowing third party usage and diagnostic data? I've tried the Nova Launcher Activities method to start the SetupWizardTestActivity, but that doesn't lead to the screen where you select mandatory and optional portions of the EULA. I should mention I know this can be changed with a factory reset, but I'd like to avoid that.

I think what this check box does is just enables Activity Logs in Settings -> About phone. Just go there and uncheck it.

That item is for Google services, but does not allow for adjusting third party app activity logging.

Application Privacy Setting Menu

I installed a new ROM (neutrino 2.5), I noticed now when I install an application now, at the top it gives me a notification, "tab here to configure privacy settings" (not verbatim). So I can go into an individual app and modify the settings. This is all fine and dandy but I have no idea how to get back to this menu once I modify the settings. Its a rom based on CM7 and I looked all over in the menus to find out where I can go back into the application and change the privacy settings, after I configured them on the initial install from the notification link. I locked some apps down too much and now they don't function properly.
Go to your apps and open pdroid

Manual hibernation and Accessibility service

Hello, i'm a rootless user with a secure lockscreen (with fingerprint) and Greenify donate.
Due to my setup i only use manual hibernation.
Any particular reason why i'm forced to enable accessibility service for auto-hibernation since i don't use it?
I've noticed i can avoid to give full usage stats, a snack bar pops with a warning but can still manual hibernate, however without the accessibility service enabled the snack bar keeps popping and won't allow me to manual hibernate.
Two scenarios then:
First is where accessibility service is needed for other stuff beside auto-hibernation, so please make it clear.
Second is where actually accessibility service isn't needed for manual hibernation so please give us the chance to disable it and still use manual hibernation.
Thanks!

[Help] System settings randomly reset

From time to time various system settings get switched to off:
- Device administrators
- Notification access
- Accessibility
I've already deselected all MIUI battery optimizations, so not sure what's happening.
One potential culprit I suspect is Mi Cloud. When it's running a backup, I notice that these settings get reset, along with some other settings (my Nova Launcher; Google Keyboard gets selected as default, whereas I had chosen Swiftkey).
These are the ones that come to mind, or that I've noticed, but there may be others.
Suggestions?
I also notice that Xposed asks to reboot, as if it was switched off and back on.

can't enable "always on" VPN for OpenVPN in EMUI (but works for other vendors UIs)

can't enable "always on" VPN for OpenVPN in EMUI (but works for other vendors UIs)
In Android 8, 3rd party VPN apps can use the new APIs to show up in Androids VPN list and also offer settings like "always on VPN".
I'm using "OpenVPN for Android". On my LG phone with Android 8 it shows up in that list just as a native VPN and I can edit it by clicking the gear icon on that entry in the list. There I can enable the "always on" feature.
But in EMUI, in that same VPN list, the gear icon is only shown for native VPNs. For my OpenVPN entry, theres an arrow icon instead. By clicking, it enters the OpenVPN app instead of showing an Android settings screen. Inside the OpenVPN app I can't do that system setting for "always on", I think that an app cannot set this setting, it must be done by the user in the Androidsettings.
Am I too stupid or did Huawei implemented the settings screens so strange that it is just not possible to access the needed screen?
Are there apps that let you change Android settings instead of using the proprietary setting pages from LG, Huawei, etc?

You can use Nova Launcher, as shown here:

You could also try installing Settings Database Editor which allows you to manually alter the settings database.

Nova Launcher is just for Homescreen (I'm already using it across all devices) but the Settings keep proprietary (or do I miss some settings of Nova?)
But thank you for the hint to Settings Database Editor, I was able to copy the 2 necessary lines from my LG phone.
For anyone interested in this, the settings are in "Secure Table":
"always_on_vpn_app" -> "de.blinkt.openvpn" (adjust if using another client)
"always_on_vpn_lockdown" -> "1"
But it only takes effect after a reboot. It doesn't matter much for me but what would I need to do after adding those system settings to apply the change? Is there some process to restart or a way to reload the config?

Downloaded Services won't stay enabled.

In Settings -> Smart assistance -> Accessibility -> Downloaded Services, the apps installed there keep getting turned off.
I'm running Type Machine (keystroke logger) and Smart Launcher, and neither will stay enabled. I can turn them on, then a while later, I'll get a notification that Smart Launcher is unable to turn the screen off, and directs me to this setting, where I find both disabled again. I haven't been able to pin down a time frame yet, although it will happen multiple times between reboots. Neither setting survives a reboot, either.
Anyone seen this before? I've found a few reports of it on Reddit, but no solutions. Can't believe I couldn't find anything about it on here.
Aside from this and other small annoyances like the touchscreen apparently losing calibration, it's a fantastic phone.
I sometimes have this issue with nova launcher as well. You can go battery settings > app launch > turn the two apps to manual manage. It may solve this issue of them auto turning off.

Thanks, I've done that and will keep an eye on it to see if that solves the problem.
I have this issue frequently with MacDroid. I have MacDroid set to manual battery control and have excluded it from pretty much all system management. It also has every permission known to mankind.
Oddly, even when Accessibility shows that MacDroid is disabled, sometimes (most of the time) it continues to function. So this may be a UI bug as much as a system disabling the services bug.
The cause I am not sure. I only know the downloaded service for Nova Launcher gets auto turned off if you switch back to Huawei launcher. However, it does NOT get auto switch off when you remain on nova launcher.

It doesn't seem to affect apps running at all, merely affects certain specific features. In the case of Type Machine, it seems to just be blocking its ability to capture words coming off the keyboard app. The app is still running, I can still see previous captures, it just stops capturing.
With Smart Launcher, it says it's needed specifically to "allow Smart Launcher to expand the notification panel and the quick settings panel".
I changed the power settings per Koong1's suggestion... they turned off again after a while, but I re-enabled both, and they've stayed on ever since. So that may have solved it.

You can try restarting your device to check if they stayed enabled. If it does, then they are pretty likely to remain stay enabled in the future.
