Is it a swap-compatible kernel?
Couple of days back, I tried to expand RAM with ROEHSOFT RAM Expander. But got this message "this device has not swap compatible kernel"

If u need swap enabled kerenl to use ROEHSOFT Ram expander use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gra.../kernel-swap-enabled-kernel-gt-i8552-t2936912
and basically the kernel in this thread is for performance so i prefer u to use this kernel coz this kernel is better that swap enabled kernel :good:
Hi Tejus,
I tried the kernel referred by you. According to what I understand from its installation instructions, I flashed both the zips (swap file zip and restore file zip). But my phone's wi-fi was disabled. So, I had to restore my mobile to its previous state through CWM. Please guide.

Hi Tejus again,
What will kernel in this thread exactly do? Please guide. Please excuse me if I am bothering you a lot. Last week, I rooted my phone and since then have been looking for some tweaks, ROMs etc. But due to limitations put by original kernel (please correct me if I am wrong) it seems nothing satisfactory is happening. So, it is making me nervous Also, I am not able to move apps to external sd card. It is so disappointing.
u only need to flash one zip

Hi Gurus,
I recently installed (an unofficial version of) Resurrection Remix on my Blu Life 8XL. But the StageFright detector claims that the phone is still vulnerable. Since the developer who ported RR to 8XL have not provided any updates, is it possible for me to apply a patch to the stagefright security vulneribility, either from the OS itself (in some form of APK), or from within TWRP?
Thanks.
I also have a blu life 8 xl.... can you send me the link to the rom... i wanna try it

You can find the ROMs, Recoveries and a support group (FWIW) here. Personally I found CM13 most stable, but even that had some nagging issues.
Thanks!!!! I found the same community yesterday lol

i have g550t1 and yes it boots fine and no there was no LTE issue at all. What i meant was i tried flashing the sound fix which broke LTE. Not a surprise as it was written for a diff phone. Just tried it out and restored.
Another thing is at one point i got grace ux working with sound but it was with the first version that OP posted on youtube which has a link that is down.
The way i got it to work was restoring his backup and then installing czarstuperstar's rom over it. Like a dirty flash over it.
I tried this today with the second version of OP's rom which is different from his newest graceux/dreamux mix. It booted up fine and sound even worked but it was very buggy.
Have not tried this method with his newest but i did install it for a while today and it works like a charm minus all sound even call sound.
BTW it was you that commented on sanjuboy's youtube and encouraged him to make this thread right? Thanks for that btw
P.S @sanjuboy have you found any method for getting sound to work on g550t1? Any ideas? I saw a youtube video in another language with a link to a replacement other.xml to be used for fixing bugs in your rom. I tried replacing it and then i deleted another css file that it told me to in the video but it didnt do anything. Also tried installing xposed over your new rom and it caused a bootloop. Does xposed work on it in g550fy? i noticed that root worked fine for me.

I will try do some of those potential fix and see wat I can come up with, you seems to have greater idea on wat to do, than me on these things. Thank you for your effort, hoping sanjuboy is working on something to fix sound.
I tried to install this on a g550t1 on5 and it looks amazing. But as has been reported NO SOUND.
Does anyone know of any other custom roms for the g550t1 on5? The grace ux looks great, really makes a huge difference.
The superstar rom works fine, but doesn't have the cosmetic flare.
If anyone gets the sound to work please post solution for us all.
Great work by the OP.

um yeah its easy to build linage os if a lineage based rom has been already ported to your phone but that hasnt happened.
the kernel source needs to be worked on is what i understand and i dont really have the time or exp to do that. i have thought about it though and i may do it eventually im just hoping someone that its easier for does it. the kernel is open source but i hear that its very buggy. when you say that you found a method for porting lineage do you mean to this phone specifically or just porting it in general because porting methods are well known but not this for phone in specific

whaaat the hell?
you have metro pcs or t-mobile?
i have metro pcs and it didnt work.
kind of shocked that this worked on t1 as this is a known problem with graceux ports to t-mobile/metropcs variants
im not 100% but i think the only diff between g550t and t1 is the css files and i deleted those and even used a modded one and no luck so i doubt it works on t-mobile but not metropcs. Can you tell me your method for install and any variables that might account for you success?

Are you changed boot.img before flash or not ?
Your standard assortment of kernel tweaks and mods found on XDA, as well as upstreamed to Linux 4.4.142. This is my personal kernel so I haven't compiled a feature list or anything. I'll try to do that sometime in the future, but for now you can just look at my github.
This is for BKL-L04 ONLY and I'm only including the kernel.img. If you know how to flash that then you should also know not to attempt to flash this on BKL-L09.

XDA has been acting funky all day so I haven't been able to upload without errors. I'll post it shortly though.

What's up? Wow cool seeing you here. I always used beast mode on old note 4.
I have the honor 7x(mate se) I'll have to see if this is compatible and will try.
Edit. I see this is newer chipset. So it probably won't.
But nice seeing you here working on Kirin devices. These devices need kernel devs. ?
Hi I try to flash in fastboot mode, but I got bootloop. System can't boot up. Flash back original kernel and is working. What can I do again to get it to work on my bkl_l04
DriveDroid
Hi all
how to add to the kernel BKL-L09 (Honor View10, kernel 4.4.23+ )
USB flash, CDROM emulation on mass_storage (compatible with DriveDroid)
Maybe someone has already done it.
Thank

F2fs is not required and not possible without TWRP.
You can still use kernel fine by just flashing on FKM.

As per the OP of Arter kernel, I quote:
"/* f2fs */
OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro users cannot use f2fs without involving heavy and risky repartitioning operations due to Dynamic Partitions."
You can still install & benefit from this fab kernel - the bump in battery life alone makes it worthwhile.
I'm using ElementalX.....
Perfect Battery saver!
Ok i install the Arter97-r54....
Thanks
