Does anyone have the file to enable MP3 recording for the TapeMachine Android APP?
I bought the full version but unfortunately the mp3 codec was offered free under a download link outside of the Android Market. As a result, once the company went out of business, I can no longer download the plug-in.
Does anyone still have this file?
Edit:
File can be found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62403106&postcount=13
found: http://multiupload.com/8UWYNTQSUT
this is free software that only works with the fully licensed version of TapeMachine Android App.
File Name: tapemachine-mpeg-codec-r1.zip
the TapeMachine's website is working again , so you can download the mp3 codec using the Tapemachine software
Sorry for pushing such an old thread but http://tapemachine.samalyse.com/ seems down again. Does anybody would provide the mp3 codec pack?
Thanks alot in advance!

It's been down for a couple weeks now. Not looking good, but for someone has the zip handy because I could use it too.

Thanks alot man! :highfive:
Thanks for posting the link to the files, however, I cannot find any way of installing the codecs and making Tapemachine app work with mp3s. There doesn't seem to be any instructions on the internet for this. Is it possible to install the codecs without rooting your phone ?
If anyone could reply here with instructions, would really help.
In case the dropbox link above to the files disappears, I have reposted it here:

Just select the zip with your file browser (I'm using total commander) and choose "open with" (or something like this), then there should be appear "TapeMachine - Codecs". TapeMachine should install the codecs then. In Settings of TapeMachine you can choose mp3 as codec. Hope I could help!
I'm bummed, both of the links are no good anymore. Does anybody still have this file?
The multiupload link wants to install software, and the dropbox link gives a cute 404 error.
Thanks if you got it...

I've attached you the codecs originally provided by klau1.
Hope it helps!
man, i wish this would work. the ZIP doesn't open with TapeMachine and no "TapeMachine - Codecs" appears. i found /storage/emulated/0/.tapemachine/cache/codec/ but nothing i do there works. i can't believe i accidentally deleted TapeMachine and now MP3 is completely hosed!

Hi,
I've just tried to import the codec again and it worked perfectly (both my local archived zip and the uploaded zip here). Just download the file with your mobile, choose "open with" in your file manager and there should appear a program "TapeMachine - Codecs" whichs imports the zip.
got it!
thank you for confirming! i had moved the zip to my device from a desktop download, but when i used the DL link from the device, it worked without opening a file manager at all. :good:
The website has been down for a few months now, not sure if the Samalyse went out of business. There is no way to authorize the MP3 codec without his server up and running. The tape machine I purchased two years ago still works fine in my old phone, However, in my Samsung note 4 is another story. You can still download the app from the market but it does not allow one to upgrade. Really a shame! There is nothing better outhere. Keep our finger crossed. I hope he is okay. I corresponded with him when he first created the app and had a very nice experience. His company is located in Paris, France

I have the file you're requesting also, but to install it, it will ask you for your original 8 character code. After you enter it, it will try to connect to the server to validate the code. If the server is down you can't do nothing.
Sorry.

I have a song I have to learn for band practice tomorrow because I'm a horrible procrastinator, and I just wanted to say thanks for this link. This is the only place on the internet that I was able to successfully find and install the codec.
To answer your question...
Tap the zip on your phone to open it and TapeMachine should be an available option for opening it. If it's not then you will need to uninstall whatever you normally use for zips and try again. The app should open the zip and install the codec without much issue.
hi folks does anyone know how to change the default folder to the external card on marshmallow with this fantastic app? having no luck so far.
Me too. Tapemachine seems not to be able to read or write sd card i perfectly use with camera app i.e.
Do anyone have fixed this?
First off I will start off that I am new but I did try searching this forum and google as well. Everytime I download something either from a torrent or something from the internet, it says open file failed. Here recently i was tring to download some movies and I tried downloading bit torrent but I cant even open up the bit torrent to help me download other things. Has anyone ran into this yet?
open file failed could mean several things.
First, it could mean you dont have an application installed that is taking control of that filetype, the prime has no idea what applicaiton to open that file with.
The second is the file is corrupted and unreadable
Third it could be in use by something else and read protected
It could be several other things but unfortunately you have given us very little to go on.
What files specifically are you trying to open? .torrent files would need a torrent downloader capable of opening these files. Movies should easially open with the stock video player or MX player is what i use. If you are trying to install a .exe file you need to do some reading on differences between android and windows.
Hopefully this helps.
Hey guys, i got a Samsung galaxy SII and after recording a very important video when i clicked stop it wasn't showing anything and at the corner it was written 127000kb or something like that and later it was showing camera not available and than i checked the video files in the file manager and there was a temp_video with no file extension
i uploaded the properties in the attachments , please do check it out . the timestamp is the exact time i recorded it.
i used video recovery software and i recovered the audio but i want the video so if you know how to recover the video please do reply.

Hi there,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

Hey everyone, I seem to have a problem that's really irritating me. I used .net reflector to edit some dll's in an app in an attempt to mod it. Well, when I go to compile the apk (using option 12) I get an error. I don't know how to fix this error, but it seems like it's due to a missing file maybe? I've already redownloaded it twice and still get the same error. Any help would be greatly appreicated.
I have a youtube video, but apparently it says I can't post outside links? -_-
remove the spaces and please watch the video youtube . com / watch?v=4uoE3n0mEfg
Dear XDA-community!
I recently bought a `Nokia 8110 4G` (which runs `KaiOS` by default, which is based on `Firefox OS`) and flashed `GerdaOS` as an alternative (more free and secure) OS (see also `https://gerda.tech`). Some things work great, but some not so much. Specifically I'm able to see, that I received a short message (SMS), but unable to open it.
Therefore I downloaded the database containing the SMS (located at `/data/local/storage/permanent/chrome/idb/226660312ssm.sqlite`) using `adb pull` and am now trying to extract the SMS from the database so that I can read it on my PC. But I'm unable to understand the encoding.
Does anyone understand how to decode the SMS-database? What kind of encoding is used? Is there a tool to convert the content of the database to UTF-8 or something similar?
Any hints are welcome!
