Touch screen Surface pro 3. - Remix OS for PC

I installed Remix OS on Surface pro 3. When I used about 15 minutes, the touch screen was paused and I could not use anymore. I could only use by type cover and surface pen, could not use touch screen. If I restarted my surface, the touch was normal but after 15 minutes the induction continued error . Who can help me fix this problem?
Thank you.

@khanhvu86 did it stop working after active 15mins of use or did the device went to sleep and touch stopped working upon waking?
If it happened after waking device then you should disable wake - go to Display Settings and set sleep time to never.
If you don't see that option, then switch language to English. (this selection should be fixed in future releases).

@Vioner : I used Display Settings and set to never sleep time. When I used youtube about 15-20 minutes, the touch screen did not work although I did not turn off the screen at that time.

I still have this problem with 3.0.207.
after playing some games. attempt to close game by swiping down and then trying to hit x top right corner. touch becomes unresponsive. can't swipe down anymore and cant close app until reattach to type cover and use the trackpad. somethings it gets really bad and keyboard stops working and have to do a hard reset on surface3 pro.
the touch driver and wifi drivers are flaky right now on surface3 pro

Have you tried touching the screen with more than 2 fingers? On smartphone this kind of "resets" the touch driver. Maybe this can help as a workaround. Try touching with 5 fingers - if won't help than we gotta merge patches for the driver ASAP.
Also please move this issue here using log files:

I have this exact same issue, same version, same device. I couldn't find the issue logged on Github. Should I log it?

If it's not there, then of course.

I think we need 4.9 kernel and some Surface Pro 3 patches for a more reliable experience with RemixOS. At least in Arch Linux, this is the case.

How need i fix this touchsreen - multitouch error on Surface Pro 3?

So sticking with fat32 for now
Even my surface pen workssssss

Surface pro 3 i3, 4gb ram, 64 ssd. After 15 minutes same issue. fat32 part.

Fat 32 is only support 4GB internal storage , am I right? that's why I delete it ,and reinstall remix with NTFS for 16GB
. my sp3 touch sceen is working fine sometimes, maybe after usinng 30n minutes, it stops working. smetimes crash too, not very stable

Status of this problem?
Any idea what's causing this? Having this same problem on my sp3 and I looked at the issue it doesn't seem like there's anything there. I guess we all just need to wait for an update to the kernel? Was using Ubuntu 16.04 before this with no problems.

You can try Phoenix OS in the meantime but their latest nougat version is missing root and play store.
Im trying to get Blissrom x86 in the meantime to have latest mwifiex patches for a reliable WiFi. (it has nougat stock free window mode)

Thanks for the advice but I've been using the play store heavily and since this doesn't happen immediately and the Wifi is working I'm happy to wait a while. It's free so I'm not complaining.

@Owl3x you can also try recent Phoenix OS stable build (lollipop). It has 4.9 kernel, so much newer than Remix's 4.4.

@Vioner Any idea when Remix OS is going to update their kernel? Can I do this myself maybe? Also can you please point me to some Phoenix OS resources beyond just their website? Thanks!

[Q] Snesoid Aparently Simple Problem

I'm using Snesoid 2.2.3, the latest, but there is this weird problem...[
It runs perfectly for most of the time, but when i touch the screen buttons it slows down. If i set to use sensor or hardware keys, it doesn't slow when i press them, only on the virtual keypad. the touch screen one.
like, when i play a racing game, if i let go of the accel button it runs perfect, when i hold the button, it lags.
is it some option i'm missing?
EDIT: Actually, whenever I touch the screen anywhere it lags. Releasing the screen makes it go normally again.

This is the Touchscreen Bug when we press the screen CPU usage went upto 100%,try flashing Mik's kernal ,it'll reduce the problem to a great extent.
My cellphone came with 2.2.1 from stock... as far as I read I need to downgrade but... I will really need someone to walk me through it. I'm not totally dense about this kind of stuff but i have ran into complications:
First of all I tried the topic for downloading the lg stock rom for my device, but I couldn't find the one for my country, I checked the code, but got a 404, after i read a while i guess some roms just aren't available.
i couldn't find an answer anywhere if i could just flash a standard rom from another country and if that would work. or if i could just flash a custom modded rom right away... but aparently i need a custom recovery for that, and i can't get one because my device is not rooted.
people say i need root access to get into recovery mode to flash a new rom but i can't root because it's 2.2.1 so how do i flash a new rom?
i found somewhere talking about the KDZ thing, i downloaded that but the program crashes a lot in my pc (win 7 x64) and i'm afraid it might crash in the middle of the flashing and brick the damn thing.
anyway... i gave up on rooting until lg updated it to 2.3 and hopefully a better option for rooting is created by then.
but if i can't even play games right because of this touching screen lag... ugh, what do i do?
You will have to do it from a xp machine to downgrade without panicking...

Welp, doing it over on a different port and cable seems to have handled it.
Flashed it.
Might be placebo but it seems much smoother.
Also the recent bug is fixed and the toggles in the Account Sync have been changed.
Images flashed......"optimizing app 98 of 154" so first 5.1 boot should be soon.
Anybody tested this bug?

What about wifi performance and the audio bug wile/straight after charging/docked?
I don't understand what the bug is. I never experienced it before, but I can try to replicate it in 5.1 if you explain what I am supposed to do clearly.

What I got is, sometimes when starting the N10 while charging, there is no sound at all, and I have to reboot the N10 without charging to get the sound back.
I tried with 5.1 and so far, 5-6 times, no bug, but as I said is only happening sometimes before...
Audio Bug Squashed?
It looks like 5.1 has fixed the audio bug. It has for me at least.

Using the default Launcher3, not really. The Google Launcher lags when pulling down the tray, and lags all other animations for that matter. It always has since 4.4, but I put up with it because I like the GEL. It doesn't lag anywhere else thankfully, so it's your call.
On March 10th I did a factory image update to 5.1 but did not wipe user data on both my Nexus 10 and 5.. At least for me, this is the best version of Lollipop I've experienced.
My Nexus 10 was more stable than my Nexus 5 on any 5.0.x release but it seems that all the issues I'd been experiencing are resolved. On 5.0.x my Nexus 5 experienced the memory leak causing UI slow downs, odd reboots, total freezes needing power cycles and frequent disconnects of both WiFi and my cell network.
Android 5.1.0 did break the K9 email reader but that was fixed this morning and Jota+ SMB support currently is not functioning. On the Nexus 10 my battery stats still does not update always showing 100% charge even when its been off the charger for hours. Its been like that for a long time including with KitKat.
I am rooted and use a number of app beta versions including Nova Launcher, GMD Gesture Control and GMD Auto Hide Software keys, Viper4Android and they all worked before and after the OS update. That is a little surprising as previous Lollipop 5.0.x updates had broken more apps when they were first released. For the first time in a long time MX Player Pro still worked after an OS upgrade.
This was what the Lollipop release should have been. I'm happy especially as my Nexus 5 is as reliable as it was with KitKat.
That's great. Smooth
My 5.02 Nexus got an OTA to 5.1 last night (I'm in the UK). Everything seems fine and I am really happy that I have a tablet that is still supported.

Is anyone getting a screen freeze? Basically the screen just freezes but the unit seems OK ie it's not a system crash. It needs resetting to work again.

Sometimes, but always related with Chrome playing videos.
Hi.
I have narrowed it down to when i bring up google search with the swipe up gesture. Once on google search the screen becomes unresponsive. But a can reboot by pressing the power button and choosing 'reboot now'. I may try and reinstall it.
This only started happening with 5.1.

Beta Running on Asus T100 32-bit UEFI (With issues..)

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I managed to get the new beta running on my Asus T100 even though they didn't release a 32-bit UEFI build. What I did was use the Android-x86 Installer UEFI Version with their 64-bit UEFI build and for some reason that works. The only caveat is that sleep just doesn't work. The screen gets very dim, but its still clearly visible. Closing the keyboard does nothing and the multitouch on the trackpad is not working either.
Theoretically, this might work for other machines that are 32-bit with UEFI..
does screen rotation work on your t100 ? I am with toshiba encore ,but screen rotation doesnt work.
Dont work for me, when i chose android x86 on boot screen the asus t100ta restart. i created a partition on keyboard hd.
It works because I believe the asus t100 is actually a 64 bit processor, but windows only released a windows 32 bit version because of the limited ram.
Can you tell me how video playback is? Like is in harddecoding in something like mxplayer? Youtube?
And do games work well? Not sure if this supports opengl.
lastly I wanted to know if hdmi works.

Guys,
I have an ASUS T100, no windows, all formatted drive. I previously had used the alpha version of remix and installed on to USB then did an install=1 to the hard drive. Worked well side loaded google play. Now with 2.0 Beta, tried to boot up with stick 64 bit and didn't work. Then tried 32 bit, that booted, did an install, but when it loads, it hangs on the remix os logo. Any ideas?

Try Phoenix OS works on my Dell Venue 8 Pro, which is 64bit with 32bit UEFI.
Jide really dropped the ball on this one, it was working in the alpha they posted here and then they took it out.
Dual band wifi works, rotation works, bluetooth probably works(turns on), not sure about sleep though. The physical button don't work which is deal breaker for me. Not sure if I can put it to sleep with the power button.

Did you install it with dualboot win10? I'm in the same position as you.. got a 2in1 atom hp laptop which only has 32 bit uefi bios, so even though hardware supports 64 bit, I can do nothing. Would love to try your method. Do I just use the installer in the other thread and point to remix 64 bit image? Do I need to create a partition?
I tried it and got it to work with the same installer.. but too laggy and no sleep, so just uninstalled it again! Guess im sticking with win10. Maybe give cloudready a shot!

me too. I've been using remix os for a month on my asus t100. i searched everywhere in other forums and found that you need gyroscope so that it could rotate. my asus t100 has one yet the gyroscope won't work when i installed it. the only way to rotate it is by force that means you need to install a rotation app at the app store. i recommend a rotation app called "rotation control". When the app launch open the setting and allow the app to take control. when you allow it, the app will run on the notification bar and there will be a strip line with logos such as portrait, reverse portrait, landscape, and reverse landscape. when you want to change the orientation just pick a logo and click the shield. the shield helps to maintain the orientation. the downside is when you shutdown the orientation will be stuck(but can be turn off) and some app wont install if it's on.

Remix 3.0.101 first impressions

Hi I thought we could post here in one place our initial impressions of the Marshmallow release of Remix OS 3.0.101
Here are mine:
Positive:
1 First, thanks to all the devs at Jide and especially Chih-Wei Huang
2 Ethernet connection works fine (fortunately)
3 Glad to see that I could activate Play Store from command line as in earlier releases
4 So far seems smooth and fast; will load it up with apps to see if it slows down
5 Glad to find that it's already rooted (yea)
Not Positive:
1 Needs way to disable touchpad, as it is not needed for those of us with touchscreens (perhaps it's there but I did not find it)
2 Suggest way to reverse launch bar for right- or left-handed users
3 Wifi is broken for me with BroadCom chip BCM43228
I'm not a gamer, so hopefully some of you can put in your thoughts
A few more:
Positive :
1 Maps doesn't freeze anymore
2. Nova Launcher works well
3 Partial function of LMT Launcher (left only)
4 Windowing working very smoothly
5 Over 70 common apps tested and working
6 Screen brightness is working again
Not Positive:
1 Location not working (possibly because I have to use ethernet since wifi not functioning?)
2 cannot modify file excluded-input-devices. xml to disable the TouchPad
Nova Launcher working very nicely.
This version is really exciting, so much potential. On my Asus K55 everything seems to work well.

Without hacking, disable things and stuff?
positive:
1) all apps now work as windows (hangouts didn't for example before)
2) less overheating (even though still not ideal)
3) better resizing (easier to grab the edge of the window)
4) finally google maps work (and google photos too!)
5) new settings ui is superb
6) finally there is built-in root functionality
7) finally there is native brightness control
negative:
1) window snap-in is gone (before, bu dragging a window to the left or right edge, it woild resize to half the screen)
2) the google play music notification has white text on white background
3) the native root doesn't allow uninstalling apps (or is it just me?)
4) app launch time is still a problem and the window cannot be dragged until the app has fully loaded

how the heck did you get that to work? i tried the method from lollipop, where you root, install nova and then uninstall the native launcher, but the built-in root access somehow doesn't let me uninstall system apps (but root checker says i'm rooted and kernel adiutor works etc...)
EDIT:
oh nevermind, i got it for anyone having the same issue, just enable root and use sd maid to freeze the stock launcher
When i try to update my apps in playstore i get this error.

Well OK first you need to download the launcher from the Play Store.
Then it does take 3 commands:
pm disable com.jide.filelauncher
pm disable com.android.launcher3
pm disable com.google.android.launcher.layouts.device

On the gamer side it is disappointing.
2d games work. But 3D games have problems with video acceleration.
Open gl Es 2.0 works great.
But open gl Es 3.0 and 3.1 just totally freeze remix os on supported nvidia cards like the gtx 760.
And still no sound output selection for hdmi audio.
This is just a bad version here.
This version won't boot on my tablet (it goes from the boot animation to a cursor in the corner and then reboots). I'm going to try the 32-bit version shortly, even though I have a EFI-based system and see if that works.
changing orientation
Very smooth and running well. Apart from the points mentioned by others, the rotation from landscape to portrait mode is not working. I run Remix OS on surface pro 3 Dual boot.

Help installing Remix OS on a 2-in-1 tablet/laptop.

I have Remix working perfectly on another computer, so I'm not totally inexperienced with it but I just can't figure this one out.
I have installed the latest Remix on a 32gb USB 3.0 for my daughter. It boots fine, but it is stuck in portrait mode, and the touchscreen doesn't work. So essentially to use it the screen must be plugged into the keyboard base, but when it is, the picture is all sideways.
It's an unbranded windows 10 2-in-1, model CES102. I know people are going to have less idea with an unbranded product, but hoping someone has similar issues and has managed to fix it.
Also, I'm trying to figure out how to expand storage space to take up the whole stick. All the instructions I find, including the ones I used for my computer, seem to be for expanding storage on an HDD partition and not USB.
I just downlaoded the nextbook version in case that will work better, my understanding is this 2-in-1 is extremely similar to one of the nextbooks, so thought I would give it a shot. But it looks to be quite a different install process to the standard "for PC" one. Does anyone know either the answers to my original questions, or how I can install this version to USB and give it a go?
Bump
boot it up, open play store, type in rotate, grab a rotation app to control rotation. The one i use allows me to lock rotation which is nice for games that think they are going to take over rotation. As for the Size of your data, Plug in your usb drive while in windows, grab Rmxtools 1.8 or 1.8fix, open Rmxtools and resize your data.img to whatever youd like
Great thank you, will give this a go in the morning. I think downloading that app will be difficult when everything is sideways to the touchpad lol, but if it might fix it I will absolutely do it. Will report back.
