Unable to flash a ROM on HTC Desire 612 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a HTC Desire 612 from Verizon with S-off courtesy of Sunshine and I have rooted it and unrooted it severally.
I can't use it in Kenya because of the 'non-Verizon SIM' error.
I have installed TWRP and I have used it to flash several zips, images and do several factory resets. I have even flashed a custom rom but later reverted to the stock ROM.
Yesterday the phone got stuck in a boot loop and I attempted a factory reset. The reset was successful but after powering all the data including the wallpaper and apps remained.
I then tried to wipe data and I stil got the same results. The phone powers up long enough for me to get in but I can see nothing has been erased.
Next I tried Advanced Wipe and ticked Dalvik cache, cache, system, data and internal storage and swiped to wipe. The wipe is successful but after powering the device NOTHING is lost.
Finally I tried to restore the custom ROM and it is successful as per the images attached but still I find nothing has changed.
Very finally I flashed a new TWRP image through ADB which went on successfully but the build number remained the same.
What am I doing wrong?

[Q] Help, bootloop after rom update

Hi everyone, i've got a huge problem with my i9300, i've got the foxhound/[email protected] rom since a week, and everything worked fine, i updated once without problems, however today i did the update with usual procedure, but now i've rebooted and i'm stuck on a bootloop after the apps optimizing part, where Android tries to optimize two apps, then open them, but then boot animation starts again over and over.
I tried going into recovery but it did not do anything, so i i tried flashing CWM via Odin, however now if i try starting in recovery only the samsung boot screen shows up and stays there forever.
Please help me

Go to CWM recovery and do a data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache, reboot and restore your apps.

Go in downloadmode and flash a stock rom with Odin. See item 2 and 3 in my signature
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Is it possible to do so without wipe data ? I've got loads of things in there and my precedent Ti backup does not include them

[Q] MISTERY: Did an nandroid backup and device won't start

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me on this one since I'm already panicking.:
I have a Galaxy S3 international version, with Android 4.2.2, rooted, Philz recovery.
Wanted to flash a custom ROM, backed up EFS folder and data. Only thing missing was doing a NANDROID backup. Did the NANDROID backup to sdcard and rebooted....and now device won't start; it's stuck on the "SAMSUNG" logo. , WHAT THE HELL DID I WRONG?
I haven't formated anything or handled any system folders or anything. Just went , like in previous android phones, to recovery, made backup and rebooted. Any ideas? many thanks!

If its stuck in a bootloop factory reset and wipe cache in recovery. If that does not work install your backup and lastly if that doesn't work flash stock with odin.
Always remember the first thing to try whenever you are stuck in a bootloop is to factory reset wipe cache in recovery.

I did a full wipe and cache wipe and everything back to normal. What puzzles me is what was it that put the phone in a bootloop?

Good question but unfortunately I've not got a definite answer for you. Some times it is files leftover from a flash but no matter how experienced you are at flashing, bootloops are just one of those things you have to get used to.[emoji1]

I used to twrp and used the advanced wipe, but i clicked the wrong one and now i have no os. Trying to dig myself out of the hole i flashed a new OS, then for some random reason it didn't flash and no i cant access my recovery. Any help would be appreciated.

Help HTC One M9 Sprint No OS iNSTALLED TWRP 2.8.6.1 No Fastboot S-On

Hello, I need help. I tried to update my phone to a new ROM and now it is only booting in bootloader and says there is no OS. I have downloaded a RUU that matched, renamed it and put it on my microsd and tried to flash it but it reboots in TWRP. I have a backup and when I try to restore it says Restore Complete Failed---E: Cannot restore System -- mounted read only. I really love the M9 and want it back up and running can anyone please help me get it back functioning? It does not have fastboot option and adb server out of date. Pretty much a noob here. I have flashed other Roms before, but this M9 is proving to be a pain. I have been researching thread after thread and still no luck. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Here is info on device:

Thanks I figured I will look at how to relock the bootloader without fastboot. I honestly didn't think I could install a rom because I figured most needed MM7 and I dont have that installed which is what happened when I tried to install Viper Rom
Got it working again. I had to restore only the boot and system image. After it rebooted I then restored data and it's back to normal.

Can you please help me?
i woke up today and my phone died of charge. I plugged in the charger and tried to power up my phone. It was stuck in a bootloop. So, I went into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache, rebooted, and still didnt work.
I then went to wipe and did the thing where twrp asks to do a factory reset by wiping cache, dalvik cache, and data. Still didnt worl, so i took out the sd card and did it again. Still bootloops. So, i then wiped dalvik cahce, cache, system, and data. Now, my phone is stuck in the white HTC logo with red text. and twrp tells me there is no os installed, are you sure you want to continue? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS! PLEASE PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Hey did you get it to work? Just seeing this post. If you backed up your system and boot images boot into twrp and flash those copies you made before the wipes. See where that gets ya. Hopefully you got it fixed by now.

MTK phone refuses to wipe/format/flash anything or even be bricked.

Its my daughters bog standard, cheap chinese MTK6580 phone (uhappy up580 if it matters)
It came with stock 5.0 a few years back so I flashed TWRP, rooted it, ported a CRdroid 5.1 rom for it and was working fine. Yesterday on boot every app refused to start, or stopped, or froze including stock launcher and settings so I couldnt do anything at all. Booted to TWRP and wiped cache and dalvik but although TWRP said completed, it hadnt.
So decided to wipe EVERYTHING including data and again TWRP said it had but upon reboot the faulty rom was still there, not working.
Tried to flash a backup that ended in tar error, fixed that and it flashed the backup fine, rebooted but it hadnt.
Tried to TWRP flash a new rom, said it had but it hadnt,
Used SPFlash tools to flash the stock 5.0 rom, THAT said it completed after the usual time and procedure, rebooted but it hadnt
Used SPFlash tools to completely format and wipe the phone which also said it had completed but it hadnt.
I CANNOT wipe this phone using any method I know of! or install or flash anything! Just this same custom rom that was fine for years and just went wrong. Does ANYONE know how I can somehow wipe this phone or flash a new rom? Tried flashing a TWRP with SP tools AND a TWRP .img and they all said completed but obviously, nothing did.... I've accidently bricked phones easier than I can deliberately wipe this one
Any help greatly appreciated.
