Hi I have very weird problem, when I connect to PC via USB I get two partitions Internal storage (or adopted depending which one is primary) and external storage, when I open external storage there is nothing not even the folders but when open internal storage there is a files from external partition and internal merged (Files from all partitions are showed in one) there are folders from internal and external memory, also there is folder called 'storage' with sub-folder 'emulated' with sub-folder '0' I don't get it what gone wrong? One more thing when I paste something in internal partition it goes there the same happens with external partition? I tried clearing cache, clearing data and cache for Media storage an External storage, please help! Phone is Lg k8 running marshmallow 6.0

When I connect my Atrix to a PC and put it in USB storage mode, a removable drive comes up for the internal storage but it is not accessible.
The internal storage has however been unmounted in the OS and all the apps on it are inaccessible. If I go to Storage in Settings, I do not see an option to remount it so to remount it I have to reboot.
Any ideas what is causing this issue and how to fix it? My external SD card mounts fine it's just the internal storage that doesn't work....
This is happening to me too ... all of the sudden, BOTH my internal and external SD are not mounted. They do not show up at all in the settings ==> storage menu and are no longer accessible via PC when the phone is hooked up via USB.
When an app tried to access them, the error is "NO SD MOUNTED".
Any ideas ?
Hi,
First, I assume we speak about the same things:
1) Samsung Galaxy S II can have 3 locations for data.
2) Two of them are internal memory, one is the SYSTEM partition of ~2GB (Android calls it "device memory") where all aps are installed by default, and the other are the DATA partition of ~14GB (Android calls it "USB storage") and is mounted on /sdcard mountpoint.
3) If you plug an SD Card (Android calls it SDcard) on your phone, it will be mounted in /sdcard/external_sd storage.
Here is my problem: when I go to Settings/Applications/Manage applications, select one, and click on "Move to SD", I expect it moves the data application (not entirely, just the data, as Android can't move exe files) to the internal DATA partition, so to /sdcard mountpoint.
Actually, "Move to SD" button move data to the external SD (/sdcard/external_sd mountpoint), and this is not what I want.
I tried without SD card plugged in my phone, and the "Move to SD" button is always available, but when I click it, it says "Your phone have no SDcard. Insert a SD Card."
In some others Android phones with internal storage splitted in two partitions (SYSTEM and DATA), this "Move to SD" button is renamed "Move to USB storage" (where USB Storage == internal DATA storage) and it's working.
So, how I can make this "Move to SD" button works like more "Move to USB storage" one to move apps data from internal SYSTEM partition to internal DATA partition instead of External SDCards ?
Install a CM7 or CM9 vanilla ROM, they have an option to switch internal and external storage..
I think there's a thread or two about this precise subject in here but I don't have the adresses on hand. I don't remember anyone trying and being successful at it on stock ROMs though...
Hi, I'm using a n7000 Slimkat 4.4.4 rom, with slim kernel 3.0.80+ autobuild.
Previously I used link2sd to create a partition on my SD card to get more space on my internal, and after a while I realised my USB storage is being recognised as an SD card. I tried a full wipe and reinstalled my rom but now even the internal storage is messed up. Not even the reformat works anymore
It's too complicated to explain in words so here are the screenshots. So how f**ked am I and how do I salvage this?
Each time I link files into the card (700mb size, it worked previously) it freezes the whole phone
From the storage option I can see this:
1. Internal storage 2GB (normal, nothing wrong with it)
2. Internal storage 11GB (this should be USB storage, and it has a erase SD card option at the end)
3. SD card 2GB (It was 4GB but I used link2sd to create an internal partition. MTP and mass storage is not detected but using card reader it is fine)
4. USB storage (there is only a mount and erase SD card option which is greyed out/unclickable and does not has any space indicator)

there is nothing wrong at all.
just repartition and reformat your sdcard and dont use external sdcards for app storage.

But what about the greyed out USB storage option? I don't remember seeing it in that way

it should be grayed unless you connect usb storage to your phone.
My phone with Android O has an unfortunate partition table atm - large internal storage, small internal "sd" storage.
To my surprise, many apps insist to put their data on the sd parition like offline maps or email storage. So atm, half my internal storage is empty, and my sd is full :-\
All tools I have found move data/apps from the internal storage to the (external) sd card (apps2sd, link2sd, appmgr), and anything I have tried (Directory Bind, Folder Mount) aren't successful move-linking the "Android" folder on the sd to the internal storage. Moving and symlinking with the shell doesn't work either.
Question: Is there any app/way to make apps use the internal storage instread of the internal sd card (if they offer no config option)? Thanks!
.. Answering my own question:
After another day of fooling around I discovered that apps2sd "Folder Mount" tool can be mis-used to link external to internal with the "bind" option, even though it insists with a warning screen that this very thing shouldn't be done
I formatted an SD card as internal, then got suddenly corrupted..
the phone is not accepting any other card even with the same brand and capacity..
I bought new phone, and I need to transfer whatsapp chat that already on the old phone, but the internal storage isn't available.. google backup also says no internal storage found..
need help..
Personally don't think you can fix corrupted or not working SD-card formatted as internal storage ( Adoptable Storage ).
As soon as you format an SD-card to be used as internal memory ( Adoptable Storage ) it gets encrypted, the corresponding key gets stored in device's memory, means this SD-card furthermore only can be used on this device, it's not possible anymore to mount this SD-card to another Android device. Quite reverse your Android device refuses to accept any other SD-card.
IMHO Adoptable Storage is absolutely nightmare as card fail frequently, using this expanded storage often will corrupt your files.
