Hi everyone,
I was using adfad666's KANG rom on new baseband using my old SIM card, but just moved to the US and got a T-Mobile prepaid SIM. I wasn't able to get signal using this card, though it was working on other mobile phones.
I thought it could be due to the new baseband, so I downgraded and tried a few roms for old baseband. Right now I'm with SlimGen, based on nightly, with no success. I also tried flashing aspee's baseband fix, but didn't get it working either.
Right now, automatic network searching says "Registered on network", though a warning sign appears on the tray saying "Selected network (T-Mobile) unavailable".
I've been reading this forums for a solution but I haven't been able to figure it out yet. Has anyone had this problem before?
What combination of baseband, ROM and patches should I try?
Thanks
EDIT: I'm also not able to find WIFI networks when scanning, though I'm not sure it's related.
It's possible it's the sim card, but you should first try updating the APN list: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/wiki/APNlist

I don't think there's a problem with the SIM, as it works on other mobiles.
I'm not sure about this, but aren't APN's for data access only? I don't have regular 2g/3g signal.
It seems you use T-Mobile in the US, what baseband/rom/patch combination are you using? I would like to take that out of the way first.
I'll try to set up the APN, nevertheless.
Thanks
Hi this is starting to really bug me now Im unable to register on a network I get signal bars but only get emergency calls only tried dfferent sim cards and reverted back to latest official stock to no avail any suggestions please
As per multiple identical posts .
First is your IMEI correct
Are your mobile network settings correct
sim card correct and tested
correct modem and csc.

Check your IMEI number. Sometimes, when we flash custom ROM, the phone looses its IMEI number. If it's true, you must use an EFS backup to restore it.
Second solution : your mobile phone was blacklisted (if it was considered as stollen).
Network
Hi thanks for the reply I have been searching I've checked my imei in status and it matches details under battery compartment i'm still paying for the phone (pay weekly) so no reason it would be blacklisted ok just tried another different sim card on Vodafone official s3 stock rom and it registered hmmm im on talktalk which uses voda I know this sim works but i'll get them to send me a new one thanks for your time guys
Hello Win'ners
Please I have this Samsung Win i8558 I got from a friend and would like to use my both lines in it (Not actually as a smartphone as I already have a Note 4) Runs on 4.2.2 but here is the problem I have with the device!
If I insert one SIM card in either slots... It reads and gets signal for the Network SIM. (either Sim1 or Sim2)
But if I slot both SIMs in both slots... It would give a "No sim card" error even when it would shows the SIM Network names under "SIM Card Manager" in settings but would not detect signal.
So I put in one SIM in sim1 and checked the IMEI via *#06# and it came up. I put in one SIM in Sim2 and checked the IMEI and found out both slots uses the same IMEI number.
If I mount both SIMs at same time and check the IMEI , it would give "Null/Null"
Any help on how to solve this problem as I have 2 network SIMs I want to use on it.
Thanks.
SOLVED
I solved the issue by flashing a later build via Odin!
Now I need root!
I'm using kenzo from two years.
Recently I flashed miui9 official beta ROM.after that next day I can't get even 2g speed (around 80-90kbps). I tried lot of roms, patches, even flashed the modem via adb method and flashed latest firmwares, and I also downgraded to the older miui versions ? but nothing worked. I used my sim card in my friend's mobile (yeah kenzo) and he got perfect speed.
So ,if there any possible solutions please let me know and kindly help me.
Few things to check and try at your own risk
Verify your APN settings
Dial *#*#4636#*#* and check under phone info your network is LTE
repair your EFS partition http://en.miui.com/thread-453643-1-1.html
Repair your QCN http://en.miui.com/thread-335643-1-1.html

When I tried to repair the EFS partition, my imei gone!!..
But fortunately irepaired it.
In the Qcn repair method I successfully got 4g+ ,but the speed is not the good...and unstable.. however I can't get the real 4g speed.
Thanks for your reply.

Flashing firmwares shouldn't change a IMEI you need to check and make sure what ever IMEI is on your device passes cert of check and or isn't blacklisted
If imei change to 00000 and can't connect to network, means u lost it. Hope u had backup EFS.
