Hi everone
i need and sms manager with this features:
- sms blocking with word filtering (like go sms pro)
- message templates (or quick message or anything you call it)
- backup all setting online (not just sms! - for examples templates. i use a lot)
- no useless dumb parts like go sms pro and battery and ram friendly
i have tried:
google messenger
textra sms
go sms pro ( have all i want but backup... it only backup sms not setting and it have lot of useless parts like theme and blah...)
chomp SMS
HoverChat (Ninja SMS)
mySMS

but back up on cloud feature not working, i'm still testing...

There are some special message types.
Flash SMS
The Messages shows up directly after it was received, no need to open the Message app etc.
Silent Message (Silent SMS, Stealth SMS, Stille SMS or stealthy ping)
No message appears
Is there a way to log these silent sms arriving to my android?
Can we send flash/silent sms with android, any app for that?

I've used this app for years and been pretty happy with it so far. It can be used on Android phones and does NOT require phone to be rooted to work and it's free.

I have installed several SMS clients that work perfect:
1) Go SMS Pro
2) ChompSMS
Both works perfect sending & receiving SMS from my JetStream with an ORANGE sim card
Go to filestube and you can get the apk's there
where are you guys finding the apps? on the market all they have is skins and plugins for all the apps mentioned?
to be clear i want to send normal txt msgs not use one of the apps to send and recieve through your phone using BT or one of those online sms sending apps.

i got handcent working, but i am still interested in trying to integrate the droid sms messages app.
(btw i found it easier to just browse to the handcent website and d/l from there)

Im new to Android and have a question about SMS alternatives.
I am coming over from a jailbroken iphone and have found the stock ATT S3 messaging app to be adequate but I miss some features.
Specifically I recently had a pop up reply box that I obtained with BiteSMS. Are their any well built SMS apps or tweaks that would provide this functionality for a ICS device?
Or, please let me know if there is something I can do to improve my SMS experience by making messages quicker to reply to. I find I often miss messages and dont like opening the app to reply.

That'll give you the popup/reply box you're on about.
It's very customisable
+1 for go sms pro, it is highly customizable and best of all it is very fast when compared to others such as handcent. :good:

You'll find that the only parts of the operating system you cannot change through apps is the low-level stuff including Settings and the Notification bar.
Everything else (including Launcher, Keyboard, Equalizer, Contacts, Dialer, SMS, Email, ...) is fully customizable and replacable through Apps in the App-store without having to root your device.
Usually the Apps by Go Dev (including Go SMS, Go Contacts, Go Launcher, Go Weather, ...) will bring all the features you need and plenty more while being fully themable.

Thanks for the tips guys. The Go apps may be a little bit cheesy for me, but I haven't looked through the options. I used handcent a couple years ago on an evo and it was fine. I think sms popup may be just the thing I need.

I've been looking at alternative SMS apps because I wanted to get rid of the MMS showing as slideshows and it looks like the only one doing it properly (displaying the image and text inside the conversation view) is SMSdroid, which doesn't have many other functionalities. Is there another SMS app doing that? I tried GOsms, Handcent and ChompSMS but I could have missed their option to do so.
Another question I have is why so many SMS apps run a service constantly while some don't and still receive incoming SMS? I try to keep as few services running in the background as possible to save battery life.
Hello everyone, i am trying to instal oppo color OS sms apk client but somehow it installs but i cannot activate sms central service, does anybody know how to configure sms apk other than google sms, because i hate google sms an i love colo os sms apk..
I think theres some inconpatibility with honor system and other system.
