Ordered a Besty-Innovations Nylon Braided USB 3.1 Type C to USB 3.0 Type A Male Data and Charging Cable, 6.6 Feet/2M - Black/Red off of Amazon for $9.99. Complete waste of time. Not recognized by the Google Pixel at all.

Thanks for the tip.
I'd be weary and wouldn't waste money on any cables / chargers / adapters or dongles not recommended by Benson Leung or Nathan K.

Yea, I caught that spreadsheet about three hours too late. LOL. That's what I get for ordering before researching.
Before finding the Benson info, reviews, etc., I bought that same cable. I was going to use it for charging but changed my mind after finding the Benson reviews. I just tested it with the laptop and Pixel. I was able to transfer files from the Pixel to my laptop.

Look for "asusparts.eu" (no outside link possible, sorry), but the shipping cost are very expensive.
The best would be a bulk order!

That is it.
I just received these a few days ago and they work great. I have purchased a motorola one and another ebay one last year but both of them when I plug into my Evo 4g or Ev3d I have to move it around to charge. These have longer and more solid micro connector and I don't have to move them around at all. I bought 10 of them and all 10 work great. The only thing I don't like over the previous ones is that it doesnt have a string or rubber band to tie it to an existing mini usb chargers or sync cables.

Any questions on them let me know.
Why even deal with these? Just get new micro usb cords from monoprice.

Because I have multiple AC chargers for my older phones that I can use at home and work to charge my Evo. Also being able to reuse my older car chargers is a plus. at $1 a pop it only makes sense to reuse those chargers rather than buying new ones. PLUS you can take the adapters out and it goes right back to a mini connector. Just in case you have other devices that still uses mini usb. Not everything is micro usb yet. And specially great if you have good quality chargers you can reuse than buy cheap chargers with cheap circuitry.
100% agree. Monoprice has these go on sale all the time for like $1 or $2 for a 3 pack so i buy them every time. I have tons of mini usb stuff from older phones, no need to buy all new chargers and you have the option of using it for multiple devices (mini/micro).
It also comes in really handy for PC's, i have a mini USB cable connected to my PC that just sits under my monitor for when i need to connect USB hard drives or any other sort of devices and then i just attach the micro adapter if i want to connect any micro devices.

Is the monoprice ones better? I know I bought a motorola one and a few ebay and some i think at daydeal but all of them the micro usb connectors were junk. Had a hard time keeping my phone charged up when I move it around.
I too have mini usb cables on all my pcs home and work along with wall chargers. You never know when you'll run out of battery power specially for us whos always flashing roms. lol.
I have been looking for a new cable that won't become lose where you plug it into the phone.
I have gone through them monthly. I can't use them in the car because they become lose and do not charge anymore. It's really frustrating not finding a good cable where the connector to the phone does not become lose in a couple of weeks.
Any suggestions would be great appreciated

There's another thread around here about this. But, I have yet to find one better than this one PortaPow 3.3ft 20AWG Charge+Sync Micro USB Cable. It's one of a very few on Amazon that actually specs the conductor sizes. Also, it's one of the few sync (not charge only) cables with over-sized power conductors. You need a sync cable for turbo charging to work. It was actually a little scary tight when it was brand new. It's not braided, so if you are looking for aesthetics, this is probably not the one for you.

I'm happy with the braided 6.6ft Cambond reversible USB cable I bought on Amazon.
Anker cables are widely regarded as one of the best. Very well made, and use thick gauge wire. Check out the reviews on Amazon for what people are saying.
Monoprice best place to get your cables. Cost way less than others and last long time. Just look at this one for $3 http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=9762&seq=1&format=2
I've found that OEM Blackberry cables are the best of both worlds, the usb connector is not as loose as other generic cables and they are not as tight fit as the Anker cables, you can find them at Amazon.

+1 to the PortaPow listed above. Been using one in the car for almost 6 months and connections have remained firm. I have this PureGear car charger and Quick Charge works well using this cable. Well worth the $7.49

If you want to use quick charge on your nexus 6, make sure to get some better quality cables, because the crap cable won't give you enough power. i get mine tronsmart cable from their deals, and it can charge my lg g4 at full speed, great quality.

I think they all get loose after a while. I bought a nice one at Target and after a month it went bad, I now have to jiggle it at the USB side for it to work, do they make anything like they used too????
Like all of you, I sit here waiting for my S8 to arrive. In the mean time I thought I would create a thread to post about USB C Chargers and Cables.
Like most of us, I have a bunch of Micro USB chargers and cables but no USB C units.
If you have any recommendations, post them here. Any ones to aovid, post here. I will update the OP as we go.

I've currently got a 6P. The charger cable in the box was type C to Type C, plus a very short A to C cable which stays in the car. I've had half a dozen cheap micro to C adapters over the past year. None of them supported fast charge or data. I ended up buying a couple of Type A to type C cables and an OTG adapter from ebay
I ordred these for now.

Ordered these ones because they're purdy https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C2NNG12/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anyone know of a good hdmi to USB C cable?
I got 2 black ones from the play store when I preordered Nexus 5x. They were pricey but the best phone cables IV seen.
Update the OP. These work but require the right charger.

Has anybody had issues with USB-C cables and their S8 Active?
I bought several S8 and an S8 Active, along with some USB-C cables and a micro-USB to USB-C adapter. The cables work OK with the S8 but not with the S8 Active. However, the adapter works OK with both.
Could it be that the S8 Active's thicker case doesn't let the cable's male plug reach all the way into the port (I've cleaned the port)?
Comparing the length of the cable's male plug to that of the adapter, I see no noticeable difference but perhaps shaving off some of the plastic base might work.
I'd hate to pay for some high-end cables and find out they don't work either.
I tested out the USB 3.1 transfer speed of my 9r with my laptop. I'm getting barely 30 MB write to the phone. Considering it has support for USB 3.1 and UFS is this expected? Has anyone else tested this out?
First image is copy from phone and second is copy to phone.
Check USB settings in Developer options.
Try another port. Try another cable.
If a Windows machine, Check Event Viewer for error messages.
Scan Hardware Manager for warnings.
Scan for latest driver or try rolling it back.
Don't forget the magic of reboot.

The OEM fast charging cable never supports usb 3.1 transfer speeds. You will have to get a third party usb 3.1 cable to get those speeds.
