At the end of my N6 contract and really want the 6P but can't find a monthly contract on line as EE, Vodafone etc no longer stocking 6P. I'm after brand new, not refurbished. Anybody know any third party outlets where still available on tariff or buy sim free. I came across Amazon deals but with limited warranty as they just selling on new goods what they've already bought.

Thanks for the links. I did a little digging and these company appear to be Hong Kong based and get a great deal of negative feedback. I found a decent deal through Game UK selling for £365.
Just ordered mine from Amazon. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0171WW4YE

Be advised that they get awful reviews. I just checked a little deeper and their FAQ states the phone might come in an unsealed box.
People also mention delays in posting. Do they really post from UK, it sounds very suspect. BTW on their website they advertise a 128gb 6P for £388

Hey, sorry I didn't respond! The phone arrived in two days in the legitimate box sealed. I'm very happy with this. Worth the .
EDIT: I meant sealed not unsealed.
Quick delivery, was it brand new. Frustrating that unsealed but glad your happy with it. Still not bought one yet myself, am hoping unlocked mobiles reduce the price nearing Xmas.

I know the US model is coming out VERY soon but I really want to get this phone. Right now I am an infuse owner and was looking to just buy this outright since I used my upgrade on the infuse a couple months ago. Where do you guy recommend me ordering one? Or the one that seems to be the most reliable? I was looking at amazon and a few other site but just cant decide. Thanks in advance!
Amazon. Nowhere will you get a warranty (aside from Expansys USA which offers mail in warranty back to the UK).
Plus with Amazon, my box was sealed and I got a Brazilian model that's one of the first to get 2.3.4.

Was that ordered directly from amazon, or from a 3rd party store fulfilled by amazon?
Also, they have used-like new galaxy s2 for $629.99, that qualifies for SquareTrade.

Directly from Amazon (i.e. "ships from and sold by Amazon.com"). I'm not fond of resellers for unlocked phones. I once ordered a Nexus S I9020A (for AT&T's network) from a reseller on Amazon. Sure enough, I received an I9023 (European model - not compatible with AT&T). I promptly returned it. I just trust Amazon direct and don't like rolling the dice with 3rd part sellers.
Careful on the open box...I ordered an open box SGSII from Amazon and received a friggin Verizon phone (used and beat up). Some jerkoff stole the SGSII and returned the box with a Verizon phone in it. See my photo on the product listing.
I have never ever had any issues with Warehouse deals (open box) items from Amazon, but got burned pretty bad with that one. The good news is Amazon kindly credited my account for the return and even gave me a $50 credit, making a brand new SGSII the same price. Can't ask for more than that.
I bought my gs2 from Popular Electronics, who is based in Chicago. I live in Canada. Interesting experience with these guys. They have their store warranty, which is useful. I'm not sure how long that warranty is for. They ship free to the US too. Right now, the phone is cheaper than the one on Amazon. Plus, they have a "Low price guarantee" and will match any other prices anyway.
I'm from Canada. My first phone gs2 (brand new, fully sealed with seal sticker) was defected (hardware, touch screen didn't work lol). I called them and they gladly helped me with a replacement phone. I had to pay to ship it to them though 2nd phone, another hardware defect (line of dead pixels). Once again, it was brand new and fully sealed. They couldn't believe that of all the customers they've sold the gs2 to, I was the unlucky one to have 2 faulty phones. They took that one back too and sent me my current gs2 which runs perfectly smooth. If you call them, ask for Tahal (possibly spelled as Taha) He is the man!

Yep, that is my photo. Imagine how pissed I was when I got home, ripped the box open only to discover that...
As usual, Amazon made it right. It does piss me off that someone swapped it and made off with a SGSII. They probably paid like $100 on craigslist for that Verizon junk. Punk.
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a cheap deal for the phone for Christmas. After checking the usual mobile network deals I'm not convinced to pay £38/ month for 2 years.
Instead I saw new phones on ebay for £370 from a trusted seller.
Phones come from "outside UK" warehouse(I'm located in the UK) with 2 pin plug. I wonder if these are dodgy deals, or worth trying it?
The seller itself is providing the warranty for one year and they have very good feedback.
Here is one : LINK
I simply could not find a cheaper one around. DO you think I could go ahead with the buy?

e_cell has absolutely no warranty on the phone. I asked them previously and here is the answer:
"Dear soniboy84,
We appreciated your email and thank you for showing interest with our item.
Please be advised that this item is sold without warranty, express or implied. Should you want to avail of a warranty for your item, you may purchase one separately from SquareTrade.

Hmmm, I'm probably in the minority here but I'd beware. Their shipping them in from China and for that price I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're clones. They do have good feedback, but I just don't see how they could possibly sell the real article that cheap without it being dodgy. My guess is if you were able to get it on a network, it would get locked soon after. The other reason I think it's unsafe is that the warranty is with themselves, not an official Sony warranty, which basically means there isn't one.
I'd steer clear.

Thanks for the feedback, that's what I'm looking for.
I'm about 50-50% and I need some more either negative or positive feedback about it to decide.
The problem is that the next phone up on ebay is £419 which is quite high :S
I want to stay on 3 network, so most online phone shops(carphone, mobiles, etc) is out

They're the same. Everything comes from China to the UK, then they post via Royal mail from the UK.
Pretty sure we can wipe our butt with the warranty!

Not entirely sure if it'll come with a carrier. But the wifi version will probably be available just like the Tablet Z was. Both in Sony Stores and in resellers like Amazon, Best Buy, etc...
Best guess is it'll run $499 for a wifi 16Gb just like the Tablet Z did, and $599 for a 32Gb model. Mobile connectivity versions a bit higher, depending on if you buy them straight up or on a contract.
Last I heard indicated either late April or early May for release in the US. Probably May is more likely I bet.
The cellular model looks like Sony made one model with every band in it.
So you could import and will work on Att and T-mobile.
It even has 1700/2100 band for t-mobile HSPA

Wow! I'm not here to bash, or promote, any particular retailer. I'm just a guy who wants to buy one of these and am frustrated that Sony isn't selling them here the U.S. (Similar story with the Z1C phone which I ended up buying from the U.K.)
But ... Did you really pay $1500 at Tropical Mobile (price I see on eBay) for a device which retails around the world for $5-600?
If so, my hat's off to you for being bold and decisive. I'm still waiting, hoping for a good option from the U.K. or from Sony USA. The price from the U.K., when available, is forecast at about $590 with support from Sony UK and a two year warranty. There are apparently reputable U.S. eBay sellers offering no-support Europe versions for $510. The latter are promised to already be through customs and ready to ship; what I read at Tropical Mobile is ambiguous about where they actually are and if there might still be customs issues.

I got the WIFI+LTE version from Tropical on Ebay.
I purchased about 10 days ago and the price for the wifi+lte version was $690
I see he just recently raised the price to over $1,000
Mine came from Singapore. Left Singapore and was at JFK and cleared customs the next day. No problems at all
Mine left Singapore too. I paid $560. It wasn't $1000 or so like u said at that time. So no need to rage just simple ask...

Thanks for both answers. That all seems much more reasonable. The big question I struggle with on any of these imports is warranty. Sony typically warrants their products for two years (sometimes with an offer of a 3rd year for an extra penny). I may never need it, but I hate to give it up. Did you get any kind of warranty?

I wouldn't assume that means anything. They may or may not be an authorized reseller, but if you take the device to Sony's repair facilities in another country, they may not cover it.
Sony USA for example has their own repair network. Their repair centers may not even have access to software or hardware for devices that aren't officially sold in the US market.
I'm not saying that the warranty is void, but unless you confirm it's valid with Sony and will be covered in your home country, I would not assume. I've got a lot of friends in the Philippines and they deal with that stuff all the time with items they have friends ship to them from the states. To the point where sometimes they ship items back to us for us to send in for repair, since the item is only covered under warranty in the US since that's where it was purchased. Similar circumstances may prove out for these.
That said, the prices are surprising. The SGP311 sold for $499 here in the states and I'd assumed the new Z2 Tablet 16GB wifi counterpart would sell for similar. I can buy that SGP511 model for $520-550 on Ebay. Even the LTE model is readily available in 16GB for $629. The cheapest I saw the TMobile complaint LTE Tablet Z was for about $650 in the states, without a subsidy.
I'm half tempted to buy a white 16GB LTE SGP521 just because I'm almost afraid prices will go up when the US model is available.
I may be overly pessimistic and completely wrong, but I both assume and expect that if I self-import an offshore Sony product that Sony USA week disavow any responsibility for it. Best case is that I would have to send it back to the country of export.

I was millimeters away from ordering the same model from the same seller - and may still. They were responsive to my inquiries and seemed like they would be reliable. They honestly answered my warranty question, which (to my shame) scared me away, or at least caused me pause. I'm not sure from your post... have you received it? Since they offered two-day delivery, I guessed they had the product in the U.S.A. already, which made me more comfortable about it not having to get through customs. How long did it take to arrive? It's supposed to have a U.S. plug; is it a satisfactory charger? Anyway, congratulations.
Good news guys, the Nexus 6P is finally available to be ordered from the google store in Australia.

Yes. It will be great if we get the phone at the same time as other countries even though it was listed just now.
Ridiculous pricing though. The 6p is cheaper than the nexus 6 was in the states. And we still pay more than last year. I think I'll skip this year. My n6 is still mint, so I might as well keep it some more.
Just so you guys know, the nexus 6p is for $744 with a $20 plan - no contract on virgin.
Im getting this because stuff paying the $900 aud price gouge.

virgin's coverage is garbage, telstra i read is not really interested in nexus devices and i have had a terrible time with optus in the past.. leaves not much choice for some. Replacing a tired 2013 Note 3 thats over 2 years old. If on the other hand, I bought the N6 last year, which i had planned to do i probably would have kept it, i like the size and the device plus paying for new premium device each year is not within budget
You can get the n6 cheap now on the google store.

That's actually a great deal. 32gb only, but still $200 cheaper than buying from google. Nice find.
Added to Nexus 6P index thread:

i just checked virgin mobile and indeed they are selling the N6P/32gb/black for $744, just the phone, for existing customers.
no other option for phone color and memory.
still a good deal if you're with them, stuff paying $899 for a nexus device...

I highly doubt it, the carriers don't actually consider prepaid users as customers.
With virgin, what you can do is sign up for a sim only plan, get it set up and working, then use your account to order this handset outright @ $744, then if u want, cancel the virgin account after 1 month.

You just sign up with virgin on a sim only plan, pay the money for the device & $20 for the first month's plan & cancel straight away in store. No more virgin bs & n6p in hand. Laughing. F u google. Why no love? We're a lovable bunch aren't we?
Am stumped on what to do. I want the N6P 64g and only Vodafone's doing a plan for $75 bucks a month. The thing is I've been with Optus for over 25 yrs and be hesitant to leave them over voda.
Is Vodafone any good these days?
Half the reason am considering it is cause with the online deal you get a case, headset and huawei talkband b2 worth $229 alone.
Is it worth the switch guys?

Anyone have any info when the 128GB versions may be released?

I've heard Vodafone definitely has improved from its fiasco a few years ago. It is now more or less decent. Unfortunately, that is still no indication whether or not Vodafone is any good for you. The best way to go about still is to get a Vodafone sim and to try it out at your usual locations eg. home, work, frequent places.

I checked coverage for my area and it says 4G but until I try as you said I may not know. Everyone I know is on optus and been with them so long. Optus has a 32g version but don't know if that's going to be enough storage.

Let's get a list of places where this will be selling including importing.
WondaMobile expecting to ship by Oct 15th. This is with 256gb rom £759 which is slightly cheaper than UK pricing with double storage. https://www.wondamobile.com/sony-xperia-5-ii-8gb-ram-256gb-sim-free-unlocked.html
Otto (and maybe others?) offers a promotion product (Sony »WF-1000XM3 True Noise Cancelling«) additional to the mobile: https://www.otto.de/p/sony-xperia-5...2-mp-kamera-1225041412#variationId=1225041413
It is already available here in Sweden since a few days ago for ca 865€ bundled with WH1000XM3 headphones.
I am waiting for the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro but this is tempting too. I could buy it, sell the headphones and get some of the cash back so phone will be closer to my budget but I am not sure if I wanna do that since the front camera is same as on Xperia 1 II and that one was so crappy according to user reviews so what if this one is crappy too. Also no 30w or faster charging like on Chinese brand phones.
Any other places selling the 256gb model?
Be good to know if there is any way to get hold of the elusive grey model here in the UK. Not interested in black or blue, but the overseas sites like Expansys only have black blue or pink. Grey seems to be available in Europe, but not UK - unless Vodafone get it as an exclusive colour which they normally do with Xperias.
Vodafone always last to the party adding Xperias to their site though which is annoying.

Yes, exactly. Poor front camera and also missing wireless charging / face unlock are the real issues that bugs me on such a nice phone for US$950. Still can't understand why Sony used such a bad Samsung (!) sensor on their top tier "Photo Pro" smartphone. That's ridiculous!
Buy swedish products from the UK

Is there anyway you know I can get the Sweden deal from the UK? In the website it appears you can only use Sweden as country for delivery.
That grey model + the better WH1000 compared to the h.ear 3 headphones looks really enticing.

Would love the same thing. Doesn't look like its possible. Really annoying Sony hasn't given the UK the grey model.
£655 at tecobuy https://www.tecobuy.co.uk/en_UK/sony-xperia-5-ii-5g-daul-sim-8gb-256gb-blue-5.html
Tecobuy who claim to have a great Trustpilot rating? Check out their reviews on there before sending them any money

I don't think so unfortunately.
I think all Sony deals are country specific.
Belsimpel had a 300€ cashback offer on Xperia 1 II so could get the phone for ca 735€ after cashback but only if you have a NL address.
Same with this offer, you need Swedish address.
I preordered the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro for 650€. They are giving away Xiaomi Mi Essential Electric Scooter worth ca 300€ for free if you pre order before 21st October.
For me that's a better deal since I don't need headphones and I find the scooter more useful.

For any US buyers I highly suggest getting it from WondaMobile. I ordered mine last Wednesday 10/21/20 and selected free shipping. It was listed as 9-12 business days, but I just got it yesterday 10/26/20. Even shipping from Hong Kong it got here that fast. WondaMobile pays import taxes if you are outside of Europe, and you get more than one color, 5G support, 256gb. I ordered the blue model and it worked with my existing TMobile sim out of the box. It cost me 955 USD, 5 dollar premium to Sony's direct pricing the US, except you the more colors, 256gb, and you get it before December. Sadly no bonus goodies like some EU sellers, but it is easily the best way to get your hands on one in the US.

Does unlock mean the bootloader is also unlocked?
Btw, "... and install essential apps" and "Our software preparation exceeds that of all competitors." sounds fishy comming from an HK (China) reseller
