cant boot window after install remixOS - Remix OS for PC

hello there
i cant load my window anybody can help or got thread this already?
my remixOS fine to use but
at boot menu i choose window nothing happen just black screen a sec and back to boot menu :crying:
(my english grade D sorry)

Is there no text at all on the screen, before it goes back to the boot menu? If so, then you will probably need to boot from a Windows rescue CD or Windows install CD, and then from there you will be able to repair the Master Boot Record.

If you don't have a CD drive in your computer, you can instead use a Recovery USB. You'd need to use a working Windows computer to create it, as described here. Then you'll need to run the "bootrec.exe /fixmbr" command as described here.
If you get stuck, you might go to the forums at sevenforums.com, eightforums.com, or tenforums.com where you can get some good assistance.

Help with custom rom - Am I and idiot??

Okay so I'm new to Android. I have been trying to update to a new rom but have pretty much got stuck at the first hurdle. I have been trying to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552591
MoDaCo Custom ROM is here (2 versions based on the 'new update')!
As stated in the first thing to do for a newbie is to Download the patched recovery image linked above and install as detailed in that post.
I have not been able to get pasted this stage
Please please please can someone write an idiots guide for this as by the end of tonight I’m going to be bald as I’m pulling my hair out.

1. make a full nandroid backup
2.download the recovery image
3.turn off your phone and turn on by pressing the on button+the back key (to get into bootloader)
4.open a terminal from the folder which contains the recovery image.
5. type 'fastboot boot cm-hero-recovery.img'
6.type 'adb shell mount /sdcard'
7.type 'adb push cm-hero-recovery.img /sdcard/cm-hero-recovery.img'
8.type 'adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/cm-hero-recovery.img'
now whenever you want to access the recovery console, you just have to switch your phone on+home key and u'll enter.
To install the rom,
9. download the radio and rom from modaco
10. plug in ur usb and mount sd card
11. copy radio into sd card and rename to update.zip.
12. switch off phone and enter recovery console
13.if you never upgraded the phn , then a wipe is necessary
14. then, select update.zip..
15. u repeat the steps from step9 onwards the same way to update the rom.
hope ie helped.
i mentioned nandroid backup as from step 1 itself.
just came to realise that maybe u have never accessed recovery image from pc.
well dont worry, u can ignore step one but be sure to make the backup after step 8 ..... before installing the new rom
cheers and good luck

As far as I can see, you opened the command-line in the system32 dir from youre PC?! You should open the commandline in the dir where the image-file is. Should look like C:\SDK\tools

You will need to install HTC sync cause it contains the drivers for you phone.
Okay so I have put HTC sync back on. My hero connects to the sync in normal mode as an android USB devices - My HTC . What I'm unsure of now is when I press 'on and back buttons to go into bootloader' should the hero still sync as My HTC or should it be syncing to a different driver. I have been going round in circles all day. I have also removed the android development software as before the hero was syncing as and adb device??
When going to the cdm I now get the error device not found. USB debugging is selected on my device.
I think I’m on the brink of giving up.
okay so now when I'm in the bootloader my device connects as a ADB Interface - HTC Bootloader.
BTW I'm on Vista and i selected the driver that was in x86 folder that I was advised to download. However still no device found

Yes if your device is recognised as adb ... it's good.
That's how it should be.
Try installing HTC sync before plugging ur phone, then enter bootloader on the phn, plug it in, and then perform the command from the prompt.
P.s try entering bootloader first and only afterwards u plug in ur phone
Try to get the latest driver HTC sync from HTC site. If that doesnt work, try downloading the latest sdk plus drivers. U can find it somewhere on the forum . I think that there is a link on the rooting guide by daysee
I'm a total noob at Android too but theunlockr.com was the easiest and fastest way for me to install the custom Modacco ROM. Check out their site; it'll show you step by step with videos :]

Bootloader unlocked, now...confusion.

I'm having trouble getting this POS rooted. Got it unlocked with little problem, but now that it comes to rooting, it's extremely confusing to follow the tutorials. Is there any working one-click methods? I'm no stranger to Android OS, I had my Dinc2 rooted in about 5 minutes after unboxing. But this abomination is really working my nerves. Help please?
There is no "One-Click Root"
But rooting using the given instructions is not difficult at all.
Its as simple as downloading a few files, and typing a few codes.
what have you tried so far? and what firmware are you running?
Since you unlocked your bootloader, here is how you get Root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639
download the .img ,put it in your fastboot folder
download the rootxperia.zip to your SD card
Turn phone off, plug into your PC/Laptop and hold search button ( might take some tries) ,you should get BLUE LED
SHIFT+RIGHTCLICK on fastboot folder and open in command window (assuming your usiing vista/win7) and type
fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img
wait 2 minutes,it takes time.
Apply zip from SDcard and you are rooted

the wait for recovery to load is HORRIBLE!! lol. push the menu button once in a while if you are unsure. i did. it makes the wait (for me) less painful but installing the .zip and rebooting successfully with a rooted phone is AWESOME!!
Thanks for simplifying it for me Cat. I'm sitting here with my blue LED, my blank screen and my command window that now says "waiting for device" so that's what I'm doing. Waiting. Smoke break time.

In this case if it's either still 'waiting for device' or trying to boot recoveryPLAY.img, then you're safe to try again since nothing is being flashed
When connected next time, in fastboot mode, before booting the .img, type this:
fastboot devices 'enter'
It will show a list of devices attached.
It might be that your missing some drivers so fastboot is not working correctly and won't detect your device. Have you pc companion installed? I don't remember if there came any drivers with the fastboot download but check that, there might be some drivers you didn't install.
Regards Dousan...
This is what happens. I just get another prompt. Here's a screenshot of that, along with the drivers folder.

I don't know, I just installed what the guy told me to when he did the remote bootloader unlock. Fastboot IS in my device manager, however, it says there are no drivers installed. I've got the blasted things on my desktop with some DPInst.exe installer, but it says I need the 64-bit version, which I can't find. Microsoft tried to have me download some silly .ISO file but I really think there must be an easier way than to burn some DVD installation disk.

Cant save my Prime

Flashed the Broccoli nightly rom I can no longer boot or get back into CWM. Computer cannot start the device. Can someone please help me? Tried all the tools and methods. It won't work unless I can get the device to start when connected to my computer.
RIght now when I press Vol Up and power, it brings me to cold boot linux. Cannot select anything or do anything. When connected to comp, it says device cannot start Code 10. Don't know what else to do. Help please
Looks like you're having an issue similar to mine. You'll need to setup ADB and push another rom to your Prime.
Can you get into recovery?

This thing is completely frozen no matter what. I can power off and on but that's about it. The device won't start according to windows. I'm praying I won't have to RMA or something.
You shouldn't be getting that screen pressing vol up and power.....that should be vol down and power, then doing nothing.

Hi,
where it says press down to change mode you should be able to highlight the middle icon. If so that is fastboot and you have a chance.
I had a very bricked Prime and it only got that far. Then I followed this post.
You must download the fastboot and adb from the links given. I had some from elsewhere and they didn't work so well.
Also, I am not an Android hacker and I think that the dd command is somehow dangerous. At the end of the day, on my machine, I'm back with AndroWook and latest Motley kernel
Best of luck.

Thanks let me try now. I hope it works. How did you get the computer to recognize the prime? Do I need to enable asus sync?

So when your device turns on its in a recovery loop right? You try to reboot and it goes right back to recovery?
It's ok don't worry, we will get it fixed. If that's what your problem is its referred to brick 1a in the unbrick your prime sticky thread.
We just need to setup ADB if you haven't already, and run one command. PM me if you need some help and ill try my best to get you through it or remotely connect to your computer to help you.
I highly suggest TWRP recovery after you get rebooted.

This is what I did while in CWM. Below is a copy of an insert from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24923189#post24923189
Anyhow, so after you have that version installed:
1. Download "ROOTED 9.4.2.21 CWM compatible signed US version"
d - h . s t / r 4 4 -> WITH NO SPACE! (This is from the Primeval: The STOCK stock rom) Thread.
2. EXTRACT IT to the same directory where your ADB is! We only need the BLOBFILE from that zip folder!
3. Once you have the files extracted just run the following on your Command line:
adb push blobfile /sdcard/ ---> Its going to look like its not doing
nothing but dont worry its doing it in the background after 401 or some
seconds the command line will returned to you with a message like this:
1275kb, dadadada...
4. VERY IMPORTANT!: enter:
adb shell
dd if=/sdcard/blobfile of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
(Same as the previews step it will take forever but it will work dude!)
5. DONE! at least this is what worked for me man!
Im so happy now my Asus is freaking Brand NEw again! i was JUST about to through this garbage away but im so happy "dklue" gave me the BLOB concept idea! heheheh i guess i learned something new now..
the thing is the computer is not picking it up i tried diffrent drivers and still nothing i try doing ADB Shell device not found in order to do some commands i have to have it mount and thats the problem what ever i do wont move nothing so basicly is still on CWM only reboot and back again to CWM
Hold power and vol down to boot into CWM. Then you can do the blobfile push. It worked for me

[Solved] Please Help! Might have bricked my N10

I have a blind N10 on bootloader that is it doesnt show anything on fastboot mode but it does go there. I researched and found other people with similar problem http://rootzwiki.com/topic/37629-bootloader-fastboot-weirdness/ . However they managed to unlock the device by clicking the vol+ once and then power key as I also saw on youtube videos. IT WORKED. and then it went downhill. it got stuck on bootloop. SO i tried to go into fastboot again and it went and then pressed vol+ twice to go into recovery and there was a android with "!" red sign on middle.
and of course it won't boot. So I tried to use the Wugs toolkit, put it on back to stock with bootloop option. and it started to do its work, but got stuck at the sending bootloader (1280KB) sign for more than 10-15 mins. I pressed the power button and it failed that step saying too many links and wugs kit continued the process got stuck again and then completed and my device still goes to fastboot, but cant go into recovery anymore I think as it shows blank screen. Please mind that I am still blind on the screen and nothing comes. my only way of knowing it goes to fastboot is through cmd line. PLEASE HELP, dont wanna brick this.
Is there any way to ODIN it. I cant find online any ODIN insturctions? help help
I cant even turn it off now! Its always going to fastboot. Please help

I think that's a good thing, if you can get to Fastboot then I would say to forget about the toolkits and just download the latest Google MantaRay image from here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/mantaray-jwr66y-factory-3d8252dd.tgz
Make sure your Android SDK is updated, unzip the downloaded file once and copy the contents to your Fastboot folder, shift/right click inside your fastboot folder and select "open command window here" then type "fastboot devices" and make sure your device id is shown, after that just type in your cmd window "flash-all.bat" and let it do its magic. If everything goes well by the time it completes you will have a factory restored Nexus10 and then you can start the hacking all over again.
Good Luck! and remember when in doubt, just ask.

Hi ricco333
thanks for the reply. I have updated the SDK and tried to run the command as you mentioned. However it is the same thing. Its getting stuck at sending bootloader. I am attaching a screenshot here. it stays there until i press ctrl+c. then it tries to continue and gets stuck again at sending boot. which is the second screenshot.
Is there any other way to restore factory image. i thought samsung devices had ODIN system. Thanks again for the reply.
Try connecting the Nexus to a different USB port, also try another USB cable, as a last resort I will go as far as using a different PC, based on your screenshots it is being recognized but my guess is that it is having a problem writing the new partitions.

Also try re downloading the stock images...

You need to flash again the stock rom, the factory reset won't work.
You can found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51090040&postcount=2 and flashing through fastboot
I don't know what frameworks-res.apk you used, but maybe you forgot set the right permissions, or maybe you took the files for other device.

sorry for the late reply.
In the dell's opensource page there aren't files for the 3730 (i don't know why)
but, may be i'm wrong, there aren't tutorials for flashing in fastboot, i only found posts in xda's dell venue general forum.
i'll write here a guide if you still without founding a tutorial and for any others if found this post
you need:
intel usb drivershttps://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices , read the instruccions if you are in windows 8 (i'm on win7 so i cannot tell you if is the same method or not)
The tools for fastboot (there are in a folder called "google") is a little confused so better download @social-design-concepts miKIT_BATCH HERE (before continue let's say thanks to @social-design-concepts for his useful tool that also works for root ),extract wherever you want in your computer.
the files to flash HEREdownload the package for your device and once donwloaded extract where you want in your computer
NOW FOR FLASH
1.-
Install the intel android usb drivers, if you did this before, skip
2.-
Open the myKIT_BATCH folder and run the "runme.bat" file, then type ACCEPT, after that type 2 and press "enter" (the option 1 is for update the driver, in myKIT_BATCH's post 1 is explained) the font should be red.
3.-
boot into fastboot (press button "power" and button "volume down" at the same time) your tablet's screen will display a blue android with gears inside and below it the "droidboot" text and your device info in your device's top|left screen corner , if yes connect your tablet to pc to recognize it (if is the first time).
4.- Open a command window
after the pc recognizes your tablet unplug and plug again the usb cable, should be faster the recognicion this time.
Then in myKIT_BATCH window press "enter" to refresh, the font will become green and will display your device's info, if is going fine in the window type 4 and press "enter", will appear another window.
IF everything still going fine in the new command window type:
Code:
fastboot devices
will display your device's info
5.- let's start with fastboot
BUT first ENSURE THAT THE BATTERY HAVE A CONSIDERABLE CHARGED LEVEL
Unfortunately i don't know what happens if the tablet power off when flashing and if fastboot will work fine after so check your battery charge first
i need to tell you that the 1-4 steps are the most difficult steps (you should have at this time the rom downloaded and extracted only extract the downloaded package (the .7z file)
after this explained so let's start.
5.1.- WIPING
fastboot have some wipe commands so i will explain the 2 that i used:
Code:
fastboot erase cache
This code explains itself, you can try this code to verify that your device is connected
Code:
fastboot erase data
easy to use but powerful, this will erase app's data and also your internal storage (the 11GB that the tablet have to store files), unfortunately i used this without know and i lost 8GB of files
5.2.- NOW TO FLASH
works almost equal with the wipping commands so it's easy to explain.
let's start with system
for a easy explain you ned to open a window where the rom's files are stored in your pc and in the command shell type "fastboot flash system" and after that drag the system file (system.img.tar.gz) to the command window after dragging the file will appear in the command window the full path of the file
I.E i have a dell venue 8 3830 and i want to flash the jellybean 4.2.2 stock rom so i downloaded the Venue_8_WiFi_JB4.2.2v1.42_FLASHPKG and extract this in F:\VENUE 8 3830\stock rom folder so after type the command and drag and drop the system file in my command window will display this:
Code:
fastboot flash system F:\VENUE 3830\stock rom\VENUE_8_WIFI_JB4.2.2v1.42.system.img.gz
after this the command press "enter" and you don't need to do nothing (maybe your window will turn off and maybe you try to turn on but will keep off, don't worry only let fininsh) the fastboot program will start to prepare the file for upload to the tablet and after that to flash.
this will finish in 1-2 minutes.
NOW THE BOOT.IMG
is the same way than system but faster.
after finishing flashing system (when the window diplays the elapsed time) type: "fastboot flash boot" and drag and drop the boot.img file in the command window
I.E. in my device will be like this:
Code:
fastboot flash boot F:\VENUE 3830\stock rom\VENUE_8_WIFI_JB4.2.2v1.42.boot.img
press "enter" and will do the same like system prepare, upload and flash the file.
there are in the download package more file but only with BOOT and SYSTEM flashed your tab should boot

sorry for the late reply.
Code:
fastboot flash boot F:\VENUE 3830\stock rom\VENUE_8_WIFI_JB4.2.2v1.42.boot.img
press "enter" and will do the same like system prepare, upload and flash the file.
there are in the download package more file but only with BOOT and SYSTEM flashed your tab should boot
but if you want to flash the other images you need to type
for recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery F:\VENUE 3830\stock rom\VENUE_8_WIFI_JB4.2.2v1.42.recovery.img
and for fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash fastboot F:\VENUE 3830\stock rom\VENUE_8_WIFI_JB4.2.2v1.42.fastboot.img
for my example, for you will be change a little

unfortunately i don't have a computer with windows 10 so i can't solve easily.
i found this googling, so with a little of faith :fingers-crossed: , is the same error than yours http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/118823/how-to-install-adb-drivers-on-windows-10-opoit's for the OPO, but is about the same "intalling adb driver", so could work
in a dessesperate attempt, you can use the update usb drivers in "myKit_BATCH" typing "1" after typyng "ACCEPT"
I fixed it with 15 seconds installer!, i gng try to fix tablet
But i found next problem, after connect tab to PC, just UNKNOWN, and tab is not showing in mykit

Ahh that's add driver not recognize your tablet, I suppose that you connect in fastboot mode,
Try using the option of update the adb driver in Mykit_BATCH, you don't lose nothing trying.
Other option is trying the dell's method http://opensource.dell.com/releases/Venue_8_3830_CloverTrail_plus/developer-edition/Download the pdf file and read the instructions from page 2 to page 9 if still not working
here is the sdk tools for windows that the pdf wants
I downloaded SDK tools, i installed Google usb driver, because it say not installed, when it was installing it said: Disable adb driver, ineffectual, error code -1, but after install it work good, so i will test with this, when no i will try another way, that u wrote here
Finally, tried method, no work, finally, update ADB no working for me, cuz installation always fail, next one DELL method, working but i found problem, dell wrote update driver via google extra with codes, BUT
My first code: USB\VID_413C&PID_B119&REV_????, ????, i think there is something wrong
My second code: USB\VID_413C&PID_B119, i think this one is alright, but then up
Finally with dell next page i'm in!, but my kit no working, in every command shut down, so i using windows cmd, it working too
Mhm bruh, no i'm in flash system, sending 'system' awesome, but it's more than 2 minutes , when it will work, omg u r awesome
Bruh, yay, i did it, thq u r master <33

Are you telling that the dell method works?
The good new is that your tablet is back (with some problems in the way but work, ). after all now you know how to flash through fastboot. If anyelse goes wrong again, you know what to do
NOTE: Maybe your want to replace the framework-res again, but only will work if is for your device. So i recomend that you modify your stock framework-res by yourself (you can use images or xmls from other sources to your framework-res, this should be safer) using apktool manually or a program (there are some of them in xda, choose your favorite )
Yay 50% of dell method worked, just 50% because Dell have tutorial for setting up ADB service, after it i used your tut, thanks, and believe me i will not test it NEVER again.
