Flip/wallet case for left handed people? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Accessories

This seems to be an impossible task for me. Do these companies really only make cases that flips on the left edge ? Anyone have any recommendations? Maybe cases the flip on the shorter edges ?
Side note, I have read through a lot of these threads, but have they released a tempered glass solution yet that curves onot the slightly beveled edges?

Basic Case Request from a Picky Person.

I'm not usually one to use a cases on my electronic devices. I like my phones like I like my women, naked with a nice screen protector.
But since the G3 seems to be made of some of the most slippery plastic I've ever held, I dropped it a few feet the other day and slightly nicked the corner of it. So I'm looking for a very simple case, but as I said in the title, I'm picky.
It doesn't need to protect it all that much, but one thing I can't stand is when the case comes up over the edge of the screen. I'll use an example of a case that someone posted on the "Show us your case" thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3337032&d=1432863723
See that slight "rim" around the edge of the bezel? It bothers me, which is why the two cases I've already bought are sitting at home unused. I need it to be flush, or even recessed from the front of the phone.
Does anyone know of a fairly basic case that won't have anything protruding up around the edges of the screen? I'd love one of those official replacement back cases from LG, but they're apparently extremely rare. So other options would be great.
Thanks!
If you dislike cases why not just get a full body clear skin from Skinomi or Bodyguardz? I'd recommend the LG Slim Guard Case. It has a raised lip but is super minimal, almost flush with the screen. This case unlike other thin G3 cases offers full body coverage/protection. LG also has the Slim Hard Case however this case does not offer fully cover the phone. The Ringke Slim is another good case option. It does have a small lip. Check ebay for the OEM cases if you can't find them on Expansys

Looking for a case with a raised front lip but recessed sides (like s7 edge)

I'm looking for a case that attaches at the four corners and has a raised lip/bumper at the top and bottom of the phone to protect the screen when the phone is face down. Attaching at the corners provides drop protection since those are the most vulnerable spots on impact and being recessed at the sides will add minimal bulk when holding and using the phone without getting in the way of sliding in from the edges. In a nutshell, like the S7 edge cases, but for my S7 regular. I've spent hours browsing amazon, ebay, google and searching through forums and I'm hoping someone knows of a case with these features.
Starting from my Nexus 4, then my Sony Z3, then my G4, I've always had to settle or customize (cut) cases but I'm hoping I don't have to do that for the S7. Does anyone know of a case like I described?
Thanks!
Hi, I'd be interested in this too. I've done a lot of research but with no luck either. I suspect nothing like this exists for the S7.
I emailed Spigen and got this response.
Currently, we do not have definite plans to have cases with recessed sides for other cases.
However, we will definitely consider your interest and pass it along to our developers! Thank you for the suggestion.

I didn't get my hopes up. I'll continue to keep my eyes out, but have ordered the VRS Design Verge from amazon now. At $7, I don't mind cutting into it. The polycarbonate is recessed on the sides, even though the gpu doesn't. I'll be taking an exacto knife to it as seen below. I'll probably see how well the buttons still work and then try cutting it deeper to where I'll be accessing the original phone's volume/power buttons. I'll post pictures as I go along for anyone interested.
After trying over 10 branded cases my vote goes to Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/262301410361
The Turata Slim Fit case has a minimal lip, but does not satisfy your criteria because it still covers the left and right edges:

Review of Zagg curved HD and RhinoShield bumper case

I waited a few weeks to review these to be able to give a more in depth review.
Zagg Curved HD: http://www.zagg.com/us/en_us/invisibleshield/samsung-galaxy-s7/glass-curve-samsung-galaxy-s7
This is Zagg's tempered glass, edge to edge screen protector. As most of you may know, yes it is dot matrix and therefore the adhesive is only present around the edges of the screen protector.
The application process was relatively easy. Washed my hands to make sure oil is off, aligned the top cut outs first and the rest of it fell in place. I would say it was a near perfect install based on where the home button, camera, sensors are in relation to the cut outs of the screen protector.
I first used it for a week with the RhinoShield bumper case. I am comfortable to say that the bumper case went quite nicely with the screen protector. there wasn't any major lifting except for one of the top corners where there was VERY minor lifting visible. The screen protector wasn't going anywhere even with the bumper case on. The protector felt nice when in use, finger glides just like the gorilla glass.
Onto the not so good points.
Significant loss of sensitivity. I couldn't wait to rip it off but I really wanted to give it a fair chance so I left it on for another week without the bumper case to see if it makes a difference. It didn't. I don't know how, but over time it actually got worse. Made typing and browsing really annoying. I guess because the glass only adheres around the edges, it also left a tiny bit of space between the the protector and the actual screen, therefore when I type it would make this tapping sound. The protector also adds a little bit of thickness to your phone, therefore the home button will be a bit depressed. And because of this bit of added thickness, even with the raised edge lips from the rhino shield bumper case, when my phone face planted in my bathroom, the Zagg protector cracked slightly. Now of course this could be different if you have a more heavy duty case which a more pronounced raised lip around the edges.
Rhino Shield bumper case: http://www.evolutivelabs.com/collec...cts/galaxy-s7-bumper-case?variant=12325884673
There is a video on youtube showing the protection that this bumper case provides, specifically for the s7. Mod Edit: Link removed. Page contains affiliate sales links. Not allowed on xda thanks!
There are more that shows the case with other phones. Their claim is it will protect the phone up to 11ft drop.
As I said above, if you are looking for a case that is somewhat friendly with the Zagg curved HD, this case would do the job.
Besides that, I must say I love this case because it's very light, adds very little bulk yet have a lot of real users backing up its level of protection.
The front and back of the bumper case have raised lips, more so on the back especially on the 4 corners. The buttons of the case are a tad bit harder to press in comparison to the Spigen I reviewed earlier, but it's still pretty responsive.
The only negative is that for some reason, one side of the case seems to be a LITTLE loose (side of the power button); it's not as snug as the other side. From a quick google search, It seems like the same issue exists with other phones and someone posted a response from Evolutive Labs saying that because the case is not made of TPU material, they purposely made the case not as snug such that it's easier to install the case . I am going to email Evolutive Labs about this and I will update this thread when I hear back. I must say tho this looseness is not noticeable when you are using the phone so it doesn't bother me. In fact it makes me feel more comfortable putting the case on with a screen protector since it's not going to bite into the screen protector as much.
Considering the Rhino Shield's price, would you say it's good value?

Hard for me to give a personal opinion since our canadian dollar sucks right now, therefore after conversion it's actually 30-35 cad with shipping.
If I am in the states tho, I would definitely pick this over the other cases that are in the same price range based on the level of protection it provides while being a minimalistic case.
I think they would gain a lot more interest at $20 usd with more color options but then with more color options it may end up increasing their production cost.

Good TPU Gel (Grippy) Cases???

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on a TPU Gel Case, I was looking for something with a low profile that still gives solid protection without blocking to much of the "edge" display.
I have seen a couple a couple from Spigen and LK that look promising, but was wondering if anyone has first-hand experience with a good case. The main things I want are
1. Grippy/Flexible TPU
2. Protection of the frame at top/bottom
3. Lots of lift on top/bottom or corners to give clearance if you lay the phone flat on the screen
4. Full access to screen (cover the least amount of edge function as necessary)
5. As thin a profile as possible with the other requirements

I have about a dozen cases and this is one of my favorites. Great price and great quality.

Does that Tudia case have any grip?
I'm looking for a S8 case that's like the Apple 7+ silicone case if you know how grippy those are.

Not familiar with those, but the Tudia has etched sides to add grip. Some others I have are smooth and can be a bit slippery. The Tudia feels great in the hand.

Okay, thanks. They are more like silicone than TPU and have awesome grip. They have a microfiber lining too so they don't leave marks, etc on the back of the phone. I'm looking for something like that if I can find one.
Nillkin nature, best case ever. If you give a try, you will use it in all your phones in the future. I used it with my last 3 phones.
Moreover, the case fixes the Fingerprint failed location issue. You will never touch your camera lens anymore.

I agree! I just received my Nillkin Nature case (clear) and it's the best! :good:
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I was looking for something with a style similar to the Nillkin, Silicone iPhone cases that you described.
I definitely like the idea of having the camera and sensors separated on the back. My one concern for the Nillkin is about screen protection. Is the lip on the top/bottom substantial enough to protect the screen?
https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Nillkin-Nature-Clear-Samsung/dp/B06ZZBRNK2?th=1
I was also looking at this case which wraps over the top and bottom bezels and at least seems like it might give more protection, although it doesn't separate the sensors on the back
https://www.amazon.com/LK-Scratch-Resistant-Silicone-Protective/dp/B01N6RRU2D?th=1
Or this one which is similar to the Nillkin, but has more corner protection

Thanks again for the help
i recommend the Ringke Fusin case.. its fit perfectully to all ur's demands.. im using it since i got my S8 (a month ago) and absolutly love it

If you put your phone face down with the Nillkin nature case, the screen doesn't touch the surface, so the lip on the top and bottom are enough.
But what I like the most of this case, is how are separated the camera and the Fingerprint sensor. The hole for the camera is so small that is no possible to touch the camera lens anymore (unless you have a very thin finger). On the other hand is the Fingerprint sensor hole so big, that your finger falls naturally in the right position, while without a case the 50% the times is touching the camera.
Between, if you have the midnight black version and you decide to get the Nillkin, go for the grey one. It looks awesome and much better than the clear one.

Having trouble with Spigen case(s)

The trouble is that while the bottom and sides provides a nice grip, the top glass bevel edge protrudes over the side edge of the Spigen case.
Thus, unlike some other cases of my other phones, placing the phone face down (or even a mild drop from 1 inch height) causes the glass to touch hard surface.
Apart from full Otterbox, is there a rubber or silicone skin that would also provide a small lip OVER the glass face, not a complete 2nd screen protector or skin completely over the front glass ?
I have the Spigen Rugged Armor case. On the top and bottom of the phone, there is a lip so that if you lay the phone face down, it's being supported by those two lips. This is much like any case you'd find on a Galaxy S7 Edge.
I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid and the Liquid Crystal and both have a lip at the top and bottom that keeps the screen off the surface when you lay it screen down.
I have a Spigen Hybrid. Sides of the case allow me to use the phone's edges, but it has a lip at the top and bottom, that even with a glass protector on gives me enough clearance to place the phone on the table face down. And I do this all the time, as when you place the phone face down on a surface, the proximity sensor shuts down the screen until you lift the phone back up again.
I've always loved Spigen cases. But all of their V30 cases have reduced profiles on the front sides, I'm assuming due to the curved glass. Since the V30 doesn't have active edges (like the S8), I fail to see the benefit other than aesthetic. And of course there is less edge to help protect the screen in a fall. A lot of the V30 cases are designed this way, but not all of them. I'm using the Tech21 Evo Check, which has a raised lip all around the screen.
Spigen Rugged Armor case has lips to prevent screen from touching surfaces when placed face down. It is a really good case. Only drawback for me, which might be for cases in general for the V30, is the fact that any dust from your pocket will sit inside the lip at the bottom of the case.
This might just be mine but I've also found that there is a tiny slit at the bottom of the phone where dust and dirt can get into, its visible as well, makes the phone luck yucky at the bottom.
I'm at work now but will try and post a picture of what I mean later on.
