Any kind of screen protection ? - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Hi there,
i found conflicting statements about the existing of screen protection. Some say it has Gorilla Glas same say it has not.
So whats the deal ? How sensitive is the screen of the Le Max 2 ? Any tempered glass screen protector necessary ?
Real world experience would be nice.

I will not give you advice since I always use tempered glass and even none of the cheapest

i never used tempered glass on my phones with Gorilla Glas protection.... was absolutely not necessary.
Thats the reason i asked

There is no official info on that... I couldn't take a risk so i put a tempered glass on.

the price of this phone is really attractive but there are some points that disturb me ... missing gorilla glas is one of them.
Lack of custom roms is also one point ....

I was about 10 days without screen protection. No scratches or so, but i couldn't take a risk.
You have EUI based roms, i really don't like them and you have CM based roms... I use Mokee official and i am super satisfied.

I think it's gorilla glass or dragontrail. I don't use a screen protector and it hasn't scratched at all. And it has that slightly plastic feel of gorilla glass rather than the cold hardness of pure unprotected glass.

Think I've had this phone about two months now. I used a tempered glass for a week or so, but it cracked on the corner so I took it off.

Thanks for letting me know about this, I do hate using screen protectors on my cellphone, I rather like using my le max 2 without anything on the screen, it feels better.
I will tell you how it is going after a week or two.

Please report this to GSMArena. So people don't get confused anymore.

The screen of my leeco le max 2 is just amazing, I dropped it from 2 mts (by mistake of course) and the screen directly crashed the floor with the screen, and result without any scratch and the screen wasn't even cracked, I have had it since 15 days ago without any kind of protection (case nor screen protector) and it's like new, whether the screen is gorila glass or not it is actually really resistant

I have used my phone for 2 weeks, and I don't know how or why, it has a line on the screen, I mean not in the software screen, in the hardware itself like if it was damaged with something... Can this happen with Gorilla Glass?

Does Mozart have Gorilla Glass

Hi,
When I was planning to buy Mozart (during its launch) I had checked quite a lot of sites for all possible previews and specs.
I had also checked GSM Arena.
Today I was in GSM Arena and in the Mozart section they have mentioned that it uses Gorilla Glass.
I am kind of sure that this was not there when I had read it earlier (Before buying)
Can any of you confirm this.
I did do a google search but could not find any solid leads
good question. i somehow feel it is not really gorilla glass though. but it is not really that scratch prone. is there anyone who use their mozart without screen protector? any comments?
thanks!
According to the official website of Gorilla Glass the HTC Mozart HAVE IT!

i not use screen protector,..... so far so good
same thing for me..no scratch protector, fell off my hands once but no scratches to the screen so far... can't say the same for the rest of the phone though ;(
no light scratches or anything?
I got a scratch on my phone the 2nd day I owned it, not sure how I scratched it but since then I have had a screen protector.
No protection here, no scratches so far...

is it better to have a screen protector on ( I know its safer but I mean for touch senstivity etc.) Would prefer not to get scrtaches on it as Im going to sell it when the new nokia comes out.
I've dropped my Mozart a couple times and I have 3 deep scratches on my screen. I didn't think it was gorilla glass as I thought it was tougher. Although some of those drops were from quite a height and the screen is still in one piece. The Mozart is one tough cookie but I would recommend using a screen protector and possibly a case just to keep it looking beautiful.
i dont think its gorilla glass. it would be great if it really is scratch resistant. in the site, they said that the desire z was using gorilla glass, but when i had the screen replaced due to dust build up, i was able to feel it and it feels like plastic. i think the only phone they had with gorilla glass was the hd2.
Its confirmed by loads of websites and HTC them selves its Gorrilla Glass. END OF!

OK.
Easy enough to make scraches even if it is.
thats good to hear! but it is barely scratch resistant though.
nothing is scratch resistant, it's just harder to scratch.

It doesn't come with screen protector...
It comes, like other HTC's, with a complete protector witch you can't use just on the screen, and you can't use that protector while using the phone itself...

[Q] How many people use a screen protector?

I've just bought a used (UK) S2 on eBay, and am wondering whether I should bother with a screen protector for it. From other posts it seems that there are mixed opinions on the effectiveness of Gorilla glass for preventing scratches (particularly from sand), so I wondered how many people bother with a screen protector?
As per previous replies to the question .
Always as Gorilla Glass can get scratched and proof is in the scratched protector but not the screen .
jje
Gorilla Glass...has got that real nice feel to it...hence no protectors...after 2 months of usages no scratches...just got a coloured frontal screen protector on today though...solely for the visual aspects...rather than protections but nice never the less.
I use protectors as sand will scratch G glass. I will give G glass credit though... It is a hell of a lot more scratch resistant than standard screen coatings.

I don't. I also don't like how the glass feels. But that's because I love my iPod's screen, just how it feels.

a layer of film never hurts. at least something gets in the way before it scratches the actual glass screen.
Definately add a screen protector!

Lots of people have complained that after using a screen protector the phone is no longer responding to touches very well (this can be fixed with a root app though).
There is no real need at all for the screen to have a protector, it is the toughest glass around and there are plenty of videos on youtube of people taking hunting knifes and other sharp objects to their screen with no visible marks being left. Sure it will shatter if it lands on a sharp point but it is not the sort of glass that scratches easily like other phones, removing the need for a screen protector.
Plus the glass is fairly smudge resistant and very smooth to touch.
I fail to see a need.
3 months w/o a screen protector and there isn't a single scratch on my device.
I had a Nexus One with no case for 17 months, which I predominantly kept in my trouser pocket. Not one single scratch on the glass but had various nicks and dents in the metal frame. Have had my gs2 for about 3 months and already have four big scratches on the screen. So my advice, but a protector.

2 months here, zero scratches.
Start using it without any protector. Trust and experience the good feel of the Gorilla Glass. And by any chance if you see any slightest roughness (rare though) appearing... apply a protector.

if that happens, u are too late already.
that's why u should at least use a protector, to at least prevent that
3 months no protection but im still paronoid i think i need on so whats the best one on the market
I have the SGP Glas just for those crazy moments when something goes wrong. Already busted a Ultra Crystal screen protector with a bad scratch.
Always use protection. Even if it turns out to be a waste, it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I use a screen protector and my screen is responsive and have no probs at all. good idea to use i think
I like the gorilla glass but it does seem to be a fingerprint magnet... At least with a screen protector it doesn't pick up those damn fingerprints...
My opinion is that anything that can put a scratch on gorilla glass will have no trouble cutting through a VERY thin layer of film you have applied on top of the gorilla glass making it's 'protection' void.
However, I'm still too paranoid not to use a protector.... :S
I suggest to use one.. I have no problem with touch sensitivity problem.. Better safe than sorry..

Screen protector question

I don't understand how glass screen protectors can possibly work. Do you lose screen sensitivity?
Can anybody recommend a few good film (non-glass) screen protectors that will be excellent for the S7?
Thanks.
I bought Spigen but it has not arrived yet.
tpu vs glass. anyone used tpu protector?
Spigen curved screen protector is good enough for me, altho it's not a glass one.

The Spigen curved crystal HD is a bit of a disappointment. Hard to complain for the price (9 bucks for two) but it scratches easily. By the time you're done squeegy-ing it during the install it's full of scratches and looks like hell, especially when off or with the AOD. I guess that's going to be an issue with plastic protectors. I never tried a glass one. Maybe now I will.
you can try clear coat with lifetime warranty
i use original type...screen sensitivity working great.
I use Original screen protector. The best of what I have tried. But this protection is not full-screen.

Nexus 6P is nowhere near as flimsy as he made it appear - a lot of people were very doubtful.
Also, with this one, how was the IMEI sticker removed already yet all the plastic was still on the phone? You even saw the residue where the sticker was!
(and no, don't use the "he put all the plastic back on the phone" excuse. No way would you get it back on that perfect).
Yeah, I'm skeptical, but that's my own opinion. I also don't put a lot of faith into drop tests, as each case is different. I've also been one to take very good care of my phones, and don't generally use screen protectors. No real scratches either!

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Samsung did this on purpose.
The conclusion seems to be:
Gorilla Glass 4 - More scratch resistant, less shatter resistant
Gorilla Glass 5 - More shatter resistant, less scratch resistant
This makes me feel that Samsung chose Gorilla Glass on purpose due to their intentions of reintroducing the Edge screen to the Note series.
I'm sure everyone has seen the Tempered Glass Screen Protectors made for Edge screens and the truth is... they're not effective at all as compared to their flat counterparts.
I'm not sure about others, but regular film screen protectors are already highly effective in blocking scratches and they're cheap to replace.
On the other hand, the main reason to get a glass screen protector is to protect against shattering which film protectors aren't effective against.
Which makes me think...
The Note7 has an edge screen which makes it very difficult to have a glass screen protector as protection, yet regular film protectors are still possible.
So, the switch to the more shatter resistant gorilla glass 5 is to make up for the inability to use tempered glass screen protectors and gives us the opportunity to use film screen protectors as a scratch resistance alternative.
Well, that's my theory at least. Might be complete BS, but it doesn't seem that bad to me.
At least, for a device that can't use tempered glass screen protectors, I would want the glass to be more shatter resistant rather than scratch resistant since film does a good job at guarding against scratches.
If a good tempered glass screen protector was available, then I would probably still want Gorilla Glass 5 since glass screen protectors is also extremely effective against scratches.
But if I was to use my phone naked... I'm honestly not sure which I'll want more. Let's hope Gorilla Glass 6 is both scratch and shatter resistant.
Naked... this is just BS, in real life how can u scratch it if you use a case? and don't put it with your keys...

The biggest cause of scratches is not keys or scissors or razor blades.
It's the simple elements of our earth that do the damage, namely Sand and Grit.
It only takes a particle of sand or grit to come into contact with the screen, add the element of friction and that causes the vast majority of all scratches.
No matter how this is spun, poorer scratch resistance is not good especially considering this is a device designed to have constant friction on its surface with the stylus.

A little tin foil hat, isn't it? GG5 is Corning's latest and greatest and by next year it'll be on all flagships and pseudo-flagships. Some scratch resistance was traded for some shatter resistance. Good or bad that's what we've got. Samsung's selling an official screen protector which might be telling us something. I ordered two sets of two.

Flexibility (shatter resistance) and hardness (scratch resistance) are mutually exclusive. Maybe some kind of formulation of glass or a different material at some point will help, but honestly I don't think a solution to both of these issues at the same time will come any time soon.
I have never shattered a phone screen and I use minimal cases to protect against scratching. I have had a bad drop or two over the years, but the phone has always survived. I'd take scratch resistance any day of the week.
Film protectors suck ass. They offer no oleophobic properties, gunk up, and feel like **** compared to glass. I will never use of these. I even dislike glass protectors, because if you get a single spec of dirt under them during application or misalign it, might as well throw it in the trash if you have OCD because you're never going to get over it. Plus you add another layer between you and the pixels which is never good for image quality sake. Samsung did a great job with this display and the glass in front of it (e.g. lowest reflectance ever). Putting some cheap ass protector over it, even glass, will be detrimental. Also, good luck finding a decent glass protector that works with the curves. Samsung is probably going to be the absolute best option, so I would skip everything else and just buy that and pray you get the install perfect because knowing Samsung it won't be cheap.

EXACTLY. If you shove this in your front pocket with keys and the rest or in a purse with a bunch of crap then I don't feel sorry. I've never scratched a screen, shattered a screen or any of the crap I see. Maybe I'm too AR to let this happen. IDK.
I really hate screen protectors! Although I haven't tried tempered type. To me they degrade viewing . Really irks me that you pay a premium to get a great screen that easily scratches and takes away from the experience .
I'm still gonna try it out, but may be my last samsung if that becomes the new norm.
Having owned the Note 1, Note 2, Galaxy S4 (terrible), I moved to Nexus/Apple and did not want to buy Samsung ever again. I went against myself and pre-ordered the Note 7 thinking maybe this would be a perfect phone for an old man. This video made me cancel the pre-order, I will wait for the next Nexus or iPhone.

About screen protector and scratches

Maybe already been asked for many times, for who doesn't use any kind of screen protector, is there any scratches on your screen? For normal uses? And going through pocket very often (just phone alone not with keys or coins or any kinda metal object)
I used Tempered Glass but because my derp its kinda mess up, so just I wanna remove it.
I know I can use flip case or buy new TG if I don't want to scratch my phone , but I like naked one [emoji2]

I hate cases as well, but i would not use a tempered glass with 2.5D screens as the protector gets a white border which bothers the hell out of me.
But what i got is the savies film screen protector http://www.protectionfilms24.com/ar...en-protector-xiaomi-redmi-note-4-1630685.html
The screen scratches easily unlike phones with gorilla glass, so better use some kind of protector on top of the screen
