LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.
These are WIP builds of porting LineageOS 14.1 to the Droid 4 (and also other devices using the same device/motorola/omap4-common-infrastructure). They probably won't work, so don't expect too much. Use on your own risk!
Builds:
Current official builds:
https://download.lineageos.org/spyder (Droid Razr)
https://download.lineageos.org/umts_spyder (Razr)
(When migrating from Lineage unofficial, flash this first (manually mount /data in TWRP before flashing and unmount it afterwards) and then directly flash the new image without rebooting)
Su addon for official builds: http://droid.cs.fau.de/lineage-14.1/addonsu/ (The official addon doesn't currently install on Omap4)
Manual beta builds:
http://droid.cs.fau.de/lineage-14.1/
Changes (only device/family specific, CM base is always synced before build and contains more changes):
2017-06-10:
Hotspot fixed
Security updates
CM base updated
Last build before enabling official builds
2017-05-15:
Security updates
CM base updated
2017-04-11:
Fixed mobile data on Verizon
2017-04-05:
DRM playback fixed
2017-04-04:
Camcorder working, thanks to @Android-Andi (thumbnail picture is still wrong, but recorded video seems fine). This probably also fixed other media-related issues.
CM base updated
2016-11-27:
CM base updated
2016-11-13:
SELinux is enforcing
PackageInstaller works on ext3-based userdata again
2016-11-05:
First build
What's working:
Phone (tested on Verizon and on GSM/UMTS in Europe)
Mobile data
WiFi
GPS
Camera
Video recording
Playback of DRM-protected content
Reboot to recovery
What's not working:
Probably most everything else, including, but not limited to:
HDMI
Data encryption (investigating, needs new unreleased safestrap)
Gapps:
OpenGApps
If you install Gapps after the ROM has been booted for the first time you either need to wipe data or manually delete /data/system/users/0/runtime-permissions.xml and reboot. Without this Gapps will crash constantly. This is due to a new permissions-system introduced in Marshmallow.
Installation:
You need a recovery supporting SELinux
A version of Safestrap (3.75) which supports SELinux can be found here: https://github.com/stargo/android_packages_apps_Safestrap/releases/tag/v3.75
A newer version of safestrap which will format userdata as ext4 will be released shortly. You can also just reformat userdata to ext4 in the old Safestrap for now.
Please read the instructions on how to install this version and follow the order of the steps in it.
GSM users with XT912:
These versions (both unofficial and official) automatically switch to GSM/UMTS without installing additional patches.

I figured out that i was trying to use stock slot lol

Thank you so much guys for remembering razr i hope we will go a long way with you and with razr.

Do you think there is any hope that the bug the RAZR has had since CM 10.2 (that prevents video uploading) could be fixed on Nougat? And if not, is there anyone who knows why it doesn't work?

Thank you for this ROM @stargo :good:

Does it include a kernel image? I could not find it from http://droid.cs.fau.de/cm-14.1/cm-14.1-20161113-UNOFFICIAL-spyder.zip

Thanks for rom !!
It's seems lag, will any kernel / settings can solve it ?

@stargo,
Thanks for keeping up CM for these devices.
This 14.1 runs very smooth on a X910, but when installed with GApps it becomes much slower (maybe official 13.0 too, but I didn't test it without gapps). The broken File Manager is not nice, however.
Positively, it doesn't include CM Bug Report app, which always crash in CM13.0 (triggered by crash in a page inside Privacy Guard).
But, I see there is no "App data usage" (restrict apps Wi-Fi or Cellular data) in Privacy Guard. Was it removed from 14.1 or just not ready yet?
Just out of curiosity, could you tell me if Safestrap is the only variant of TWRP that works in spyder/umts_spyder? (I couldn't find original TWRP for these). No, I don't dislike Safestrap, I think it's very nice project, especially for preserving stock rom and allowing multi-boot, despite possible performance penalties.
I have another question about Safestrap: If I boot into stock and make a backup of its .img files (they are in internal sdcard/safestrap), do I need a backup made inside twrp or they are the same?
Will you make available a test build of the next Safestrap version?

For me - cm14.1-OC-FullScale-Lite-2016-11-08.zip, I have tried all versions on cm13, this was only one I can install (just for cm13, of course), so I use the same on cm14.1 and I am not disappointed, but I am have not tried others...

Using daily. Thanks!

Android OS / Cyanogenmod-system Batterydrain
I have this problem since CM13. I tried cm-13.0-20160816-SNAPSHOT-ZNH5YAO0FG-umts_spyder.zip and many nightlies but it's always the same: android os or cyanogenmod system is with 20-40 % the number one batterydrainer and always keeps the device active. With the first cm13 builds and with cm11 I never forced this problem and it made one day but now I can't find a build which doesn't has this problem anymore. I tried different kernels on cm13 but without any effect.
I hoped it would be better on cm14 but unfortunatly it's exactly the same..
Does anyone has an idea or a solution to this problem?
Thank you for any answer!

Are you sure it is not some app you installed, or accidentally changed Android settings to avoid turning screen off? Did you cleanly installed Cm the last time?

"Error code 70" during installing pico GAps
Thank you so much stargo for your work!
I have putted it to the slot 1 with pico GApps. Works great!
But when i putting it in to the stock slot i getting "Error code 70" during installing pico GAps. I tried reformat userdata to ext4.
I checked rm -rf instead of formatting then Wipe/advanced/checked data/Repair or Change File System - and change to EXT4 but when i go back it still ext3.
How to solve this issue?
Thank you.

Is the error code 70 stating that you don't have enough space to install gapps?
If you exit the to the first screen in safestrap, check again that data is EXT4 in advanced wipe.

Thanks a lot @abdulhkeem, it worked and this saved me a lot of time. :good:
My phone seems very hot under the camera, expecially when leaved attached to AC power... much more than on KK...

Thanks so much for this @Lysergic Acid!
I have been following since November last year and all I can say is what an amazing achievement!
Congrats to you and all the great devs that helped you get to where you are now.
Can't wait to see what is to come with the official tag on the ROM now.

Looks like I lost root with the official build. Yes, the root access is enabled in dev options. Tried rebooting, disable-enable, re-flash, still does not have root.

@Hazard- Me too, but also I can`t install any *.zip package.
it says unable to open efs/metadata (more or less). I thought efs folder is untouched on wipe, isn't it?
No APN data available so mobile data can't also be enabled.
Nice!

CAF-6.0.1 [Alpha] [Surnia]

Hi All,
I've been working on a CAF version for osprey. This is started from kernel and device tree made by Alberto97 and Squid2, so thanks a lot to them for the bringup.
This version is very early and should only be flashed by people who know what they are doing. Flash this at your own risk.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,

For now only a few things are working:

@scritch007 we need this commit for gapps to work on CAF/AOSP...its already upstream in CM13...
https://github.com/TeamExodus/frameworks_base/commit/9c36be651e83fb039a262682839bd920b033007a
I tested on a XT1527, and it works incredibly good only there's two issues:
1)When switching from wifi to Mobile Network (i think after a data connection, i don't know exactly) the phone freezes up, and after it shutdown to bootlogo. (i will try to provide you a logcat)
2)The mobile network doesn't work, i think so, the google search didn't response
Anyways, it's an incredible work, and keep it going! Thanks for porting Android 6.0 to our device
Wow, just tested, & everything pretty much works. The only bugs are gapps, SD Card, & the occasional random reboot. Everything else, including 4G, worked. I tested all the apps, & sideloaded chrome to test browsing/video. Once we get the gapps & SD Card fixed, it's pretty much daily driver material. Thanks, @scritch007!

Just tried this on my XT1521... no RIL because this is dual SIM, and no microSD, but nonetheless, great work! The ROM was extremely fluid in the few moments I used it, and fixing those issues, I would have no issues in using it as a daily driver.

It seems that the issue is actually WebView. When opengapps installs, it installs Google Webview, and since this ROM is still configured to use AOSP WebView, it doesn't work. @scritch007 you actually need this commit.

@NSDCars5 thanks updated the change log. It was taken from osprey, which didn't get previous version
@scritch007
Video recording worked fine in the last build too, I just couldn't see the recorded video in Marshmallow (in Lollipop I could see what I'd recorded in Marshmallow). So does this mean we can see recorded video in the ROM itself?

When you say SD doesn't work, you mean it doesn't recognize it at all? Or is it only a minor issue? Just wondering.

I'd like to get some feedback from you guys on bugs and other failures. Recording videos with our stock camera app currently doesn't work.
Have fun

Thank you very much for this CM14 ROM!
Are there any bugs you're already aware of except video recording?
I'm just waiting for my battery to get fully charged before testing it.

Entering Burton settings,FC settings

[ROM][OFFICIAL] LineageOS 14.1 Nightlies for the Moto X Pure 2015 (clark)

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

Google apps addon:
OpenGapps: http://opengapps.org/ (you'll want a zip for the ARM64 platform, Android version 7.1)
HEADS UP: Be sure you flash the gapps package with your rom. If you boot your rom, then go back and try to flash gapps after the fact, you're gonna have a bad time.

Why even bother using cmrecovery instead of twrp? CM boots fine for me and many others, and I'm guessing most of them use twrp.
wont boot for me either
couple of bad issues
Installs and boots fine with twrp for me, using open gapps 64 7.1 nano
Clean install
ext SD Card can be seen, but data can't be accessed
No Theme Chooser app
CM14.1+OpenGapps+CMRecovery = Dont Boot
CM14.1+OpenGapps+TWRP = all fine
Idea why CM Recovery dont work?

With last night's update I am unable to install apps as it says there is no space left. However as you can see in the screenshot below, I have plenty of space available
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.... Nightlies are by definition nightly automated builds? Bugs/fixes are made by CM and pushed out and code is automatically compiled? Am I totally wrong? In our case as " invisiblek" is our maintainer, what exactly does he do? Is he helping by monitoring the builds and fixing things above and beyond to get to a Snapshot, RC or Stable? Hypothetically, why did that never happen for 13 or 13.1.
Just trying to learn. Thanks
Just curious if the ring and notification volumes have been separated. The last unofficial nightly I was running they were still combined.
Thanks.

Invisiblek and Hashbang are our device maintainers, which means they do device specific work. The main base is for every phone, but you still need someone who changes and adds stuff so it can run on their phone. And btw, they were doing this for the 13 and 13.1 builds too.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation.
So the next question... how common is it for these nightlies to get to Snapshot or above status? I feel like I've followed the CM community across a few phones (HTC Thunderbolt, LG G2, now Moto X Pure) and really only remember a few instances of getting out of "nightly." Is it up to a lot of work by the device specific maintainer to get it stable enough? I feel like 13 and 13.1 have been available for awhile and they are still just nightly, right? This is not intended to seem disrespectful... I'm just trying to learn how this works.

Not sure why there wasn't an RC or stable release.... Again I'm not sure if this is down to the main core or the device maintainers.
We did a decent job of keeping track of the "recommended" most stable nightlies in cm13 (the thread was very active) and it just worked well..... I would t be too bothered if cm14.1 went the same way really.
Just sit back and keep an eye on the changelog link and this thread [emoji1]

Good approach.
The way CM releases roll out the stable tree can be cut months behind the nightlies. So if you're on a nightly where everything works for you, then you're really not gaining anything by flashing stable. In fact, you probably need to clean flash from a nightly to a stable unless your nightly is like three months old because while roms are usually pretty tolerant of dirty flashing when moving forward, that's not always the case when you go backwards.

I ask for a dmesg since I think there could be selinux denials causing this

Mine is a T-Mobile US P-607T and so far has been compatible with all P605 builds.

Install on my 607, installed ok, gapps installed ok, but there seems to be an issue with the wifi.
I'm unable to see my AP. Other devices connect just fine. I don't use the 4g/LTE sim slot.
*UPDATE 1*
The SSID is not broadcasting, it can see other networks/connect that ARE broadcasting the SSID
*UPDATE 2*
Google is being dumb. I found an additional setting for when adding a hidden wifi network.
