Phab2 Pro is equipped with Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 technology enabling higher resolution audio for recording.
Here is a sound sample from the Phab2 Pro compared to the Note4. The sound was recorded and unedited from the default sound recording application on each device.
Things to note:
1) Phab2 Pro has much higher bitrate for sound. One of the best I've seen from a smartphone. 1536kbps!
2) Microphones on the Phab2 Pro is one of the worst. The microphone sensitivity is very low.

HI,
i install
"Hacked Camera.APK mod of Potatoman"
one of the change is
"- Records Audio in 192kbps/44.1Khz quality (CD Quality) rather than stock (64kbps/16khz quality)"
my question is
1. the mic is more sensitive to noise if i change from 16khz to 44.1 khz??
here shows comparison of camera quality:
iphone 4:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGAteITuZVo&feature=player_embedded#at=59
s2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TFm93qvGnU&feature=player_embedded#at=65
the iphone 4 sound more beter from galaxy s2
2. if i return the original stock (16khz) this will improve my sound quality when i record video??
3. Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the record microphone and raise the sensitivity of mic noise filter?
4. what is the problem in my s2?
thanks

I'm having the same problem with audio being over saturated on loud volumes. I wish there was a way to decrease gain. Any idea?
You can try to use my lgCamera. That app can set variuosly sound parameters (sampling rate and bitrate).

Thank you very much. I will give it a try.
dear devs,
is it possible to improve the camera performance of xperia mini pro through software update? hd video recording is at its worst. it lacks detail. hd videos shot by xperia mini pro is muddy.
well i have noticed that when you record in a very light environment the recording is good, but when the room is dark the recording is getting very worse
CAN ANY ONE PORT THIS MOD FOR LWW! Its just awesome...

You already have smooth HD recording(no lag), if you disable the Video Stabilizer, just like it is written there:
Tips for Smooth HD Video Recording :
turn off image stabilizer in setting camera
Click to collapse
Then, LWW cannot record Stereo sound, it has only one mic.
And Fast Capture...you already have shortcut on lockscreen, isn't it enough?
It does have secondary microphone, but its used for noise-cancellation, rather than for stereo recording (and i havent noticed any difference in L/R audio channels whatsoever, so it's still a mono sound).
In the mean time (after last post), i've installed patched Camera app (link in my sig), and it increased camera bitrate from 6 to 10Mbit.
Image stabilizer is off, and i do have shortcut on lockscreen, i'm just curious what new audio/video libs can bring to the table
I heard that the screen is ips lcd in stead of amoled. Does it support hdr10 videos? Can you stream YouTube hdr videos and Netflix hdr video?
It doesnt have dolby atmos. How far huaweis 9.1 surround sound can cope up with this (with earphone)?
Any real use, please share your opinio....
Hi,
So I was just wondering if it would at all be possible to enable HEVC/x265 recording on the LG Camera app. It might be a useful feature which I believe is available on the LG V40, but not on the V30. I'm not sure if the 835 supports HEVC encoding/recording, but have used GCam and recorded video in HEVC and seen others use Filmic Pro to record in HEVC. So it seems to me that the 835 and the V30 may indeed support x265 recording.
I would use the GCam for video, but it isn't the best and have always preferred the LG camera app for video recording for the manual mode and all the options available so being able to record in HEVC would be a nice added feature
I want this feature so much!
This is a huge problem for me because it ruins my 4k shots (sky, clothes, any surface with gradient is pixelated), here is an example/proof https://youtu.be/E38lo4BbGh8
I used Filmic Pro and HedgeCam 2 before just for HEVC, but now I am forced to switch back to default camera app only because with it I get the best audio quality (stereo) and only with default camera I get good audio quality from external mic (from all other camera apps with external mic I get audio distorted/quiet without rich/clear ambient sounds).
P.S. iPhone users are lucky in this regard because it records in HEVC by default.
