You need to root&unlock your phone and install a custom rom , to have the equalizer settings. Many roms here , aka insertcoin or viperx , have build-in eqs , on elegancia you may need to flash layapota mod for hox+
There is only beats in stock firmware from memory so do the obvious and Install a rom to get all that.

@xpirt Thank you so much for your effort. I flashed it on a custom rom from @ckpv5 (mySensedx5 Alpha 1).
Do I need to change something to make it work? I can still hear the audio with the Beats Audio Icon on the top bar.

The Beats Audio icon is still here as I only updated with M7 files, didn't changed nothing from it as I won't go in conflict with it.

Compare the 2 zips and see I added some ALSA configs and bins, added SRS Audio Filter, samplerate config files, SoX & MP3 LAME libraries and Samsung Resampler/Powersound/Soundbooster libs
I actually here the difference xD, the sound balance between base and the other higher frequencies is much better now.

Sure, you're right. It's late, I'm tired and should start to think before I post...
I used this Viper on my old phone, the HTC Aria, which was only ARMv6 (I lost it, that's why I came here), and there it worked fine on CM without having to port anything. The thing is, you just have to specify the right device driver in a menu, then it works fine for most phones. But I'm not sure if it is a good idea to try this on top of xpirts mod. Btw, to my ear xpirts mod is definitely better than Viper4Android, also in Viper4Android you have to do a lot of settings before you have a good sound experience.
@xpirt: I have got a request. Could you design an app in which we can enable/disable the different components of your mod? For example when I connnect a small speaker to my phone with the headphone plug, there is too much base for this speaker, but when I connect my earphones it's good again. It's not an urgent issue, just a request.
This is brilliant, sounds very good. Thank you

How to increase sound on Redmi Note 3 (Kate and Kenzo)

Hi guys,
Did anyone find out, how to raise the sound of speakers
in the Redmi Note 3 (with Snapdragon)?
I find it way to quiet and I barely hear the messenger or
calling sounds. :\
I am using the Nexus Experience ROM or NXROM (AOSP)
with Kate radio/modem.

The easy way maybe using custom kernel that have audio gain feature. Or install a sound mod like viper, dolby, or arise.

Try app from here:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/themes-universal-dolby-atmos-t3421612
Thanks, guys, I installed the Dolby Atmos from the "Collective Atmos" thread and I will check out, if this helps.

Erm, really? I used Poweramp and Winamp to play
some music and turned off Dolby Atmos in between
and could not find ANY difference.
What do I have to do/setup in particular?
Also, the ring tones and notifications do not sound
louder to me, unfortunately.
I did something else then: I installed "Kernel Adiutor"
from the Play store and there I could raise the levels
of speaker and headset in sounds.
It is now a bit louder, but the quality is not great, I
think.
Install viper4android it will really help you...
I uninstalled Dolby Atmos and installed
Viper4Android now.
I will report later.
