Micro SD unable to format after Mixed adoptable storage (MM) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I formatted my micro sd (samsung evo 16gb) as mixed portable/adoptable storage.
After I had to wipe my phone (CM13), and then I would to format my sd as I've done other times...But my sd is damaged. I wiped the phone so no .key from /data/misc/vold.
I don't care about the data, I only want to restore my sd .
I tried all the possible (under linux, under windows, mini tool partition wizard, chkdsk, diskpart, testdisk, gparted, sd formatter etc etc.....all the tools I know) but after the formattation the sd return like before with the previous data and partitions, I tried also a low level format but it is the same, I can't format this sd...any suggestion? I'm able to read the sd in all my devices and computers, simply I can't format....help me thanks

[Q] Custom ROMs and SD card

I have used some custom ROMs (2.2, 2.3) on my X10, but none of them recognizes my SD card. The stock ROM (2.1) reads it properly, it is visible when I connect the phone to the computer via USB using the stock ROM.But when i use a custom one it says "Please mount SD card..." on Storage Settings and the computer recognizes it as removable disk, but it shows that the card is empty.I've tried cleaning all types of caches, full wipe, mounting/unmounting the SD card and formatting it with xRecovery and changing different basebands.
Is it a ROM bug, or I am doing something wrong?
Please check that your SD card is formatted to FAT 32. If not, the ROM won't recognised it.
Your SD card is probably partitioned.
Custom ROMs for X10 only recognise the second partition on an SD card,
meaning if you have one FAT32 and one ext2 (ext3, ext4, etc), it will mount the second and thus won't be able to read it, so you'll get an "SD card corrupted" message.
You need to wipe and erase the second partition with the same program you used to create it and it should work fine on any custom ROM.
I wiped the old partitions and then formatted the SD card to FAT32.Now it's recognized properly by the ROM.Thanks to both of you!!!

USB mass storage mode format via windows or use a sd card reader to format .FAT32

Use GParted and an external card reader to format it, you won't have any problem...

[Q] Micro SD Not read by Android, Format from NTFS to FAT32

Running 4.2.1 Supernexus on an i9100, I had a 32GB Micro SD card in the phone and when I had it connected to my computer I formatted it, except I foolishly set the format to NTFS. Now android won't read it (doesn't show up in storage) nor will it mount it when connected via USB so I can't put it back to FAT32/exFAT
Installed Paragon's NTFS mounting tool which mounts the drive but it's still not showing up in storage or being mounted via USB.
How can I format it back to FAT so it will be read by windows and/or android? I'm surprised there is no SD Card formatting apps out there
Thanks :good:
Put it in a card reader, and format it directly in your computer, not through the phone.
If for some reason Windows doesn't see it, use MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Resizing SD Card Paritions

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum but it seemed the most appropriate (I thought).
I recently got an LG Optimus F6 and it has a horrible memory file system. To make a long story short, I had to downgrade firmware, root, ota root keep, upgrade firmware, unmount sd card, then partition it.
So I've got a 32g SD card that has the first partition FAT32 with about 4g, and the second partition is EXT4 with the other 28. I want a want a way to move space from the EXT4 over to the FAT32 (format just that data if I have to, and then merge it with FAT 32 drive).
I don't want to use AParted because I think it will wipe the partitions, and mini partitions tools doesn't recognize the partitions when I plug my phone into computer, and I don't have a working SD Card Reader which is what I would need to get the SD Cards to read on PC, unless theres some terminala or ADB script that could do that, since I've figured out the physical adress of the diffefrent SD cards

[Xperia GO] How to revert using SD Card as internal Memory?

Hi guys!
I did something very stupid. I wanted to simply format (wipe) my SD Card and used TWRP to do it. Unfortunately it seems TWRP is very misleading in this regard:
Instead of using formating the card from withing the "Wipe" menu, I have formated it using "Advanced > partition SD". This has apparently caused my SD Card to become recognized as part of my internal memory (as described here: androidforums[DOT]com/threads/make-sd-card-as-internal-memory.887942).
Now I took my SD Card out and formatted it to exFAT using Windows but it didnt help.... My SD Card is still being used as internal and I cannot acces the SD Card from Windows anymore.
How can I fix this? It's really annoying.. the whole internet is writing how to use the SD Card as internal memory but nobody writes how to revert it...
Thanks in advance

No ideas?
Maybe you have to factory reset checked #wipe interal storage#.
What android version you are using?
Nope that didn't help. I have found out that windows is not able to show/format all partitions natively using the GUI.
The solution was to use the diskpart too (integrated into windows), wipe all partitions and reformat it to fat32. Here's a manual how to do that
