[Q] Root_LG-K371(Phoenix2)_Help!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello comunity, maybe someone ask you about rooting LG Phoenix 2 before, but i can't find any method for this device.
I read Unjustified Dev post "New Root Method for LG Devices" and it's very simple, but latter he write "Do not attempt this on devices with 5.1.1". I continue my search and find N'ayam Amarsh'e post "[UNIVERSAL GUIDE] Root Any Android Device Manually !", but latter i see the age of the article. Few days latter i found in this forum that the best way to root any device with android 6.* is to create a image using dd with the device in fastboot mode (unfortunaly LG does not have a fastboot mode accessible to the user, instead they use a Download mode), then you must root the image and restore into the phone. Unfortunately i have a very bad experience doing that method . My device run Android 6.0 so i imagine that method will brick my phone as happen before. Any suggestions.
PD: I almost forgot, every user that tried to make root whit KingoRoot and similar app, have gain momentary root, unfortunately the have random reboots and they lost warranty after doing this. Also one user report that after he change KigoRoot manager by super su, his phone died.
Greetings from Habana, any help will be appreciated.

Hello brito9112,
i am from Cuba too and i have a Phoenix 2 too since 2016 and have been trying to find a root method with no luck.
Did you find a solution for it? Or did you just gave up?
Thanks

Se puede rootear con Kingoroot o Iroot, pero es temporal y si te conectas a internet será detectado por At&t y en consecuencia bloqueado. Si no quieres tener un hermoso pisapapeles te aconsejo no probar ningún método de root.

[Q][HELP] D625 - No Download Mode/Recovery Mode - Can't root

Hi peeps,
I have brand new D625 latest variant and i was trying to root it. To my surprise, none of the towelroot works (V1 gets stuck and V3 says not supported) also tried Stump Root which also says unsupported device.
So i figured out i had to downgrade it to a lower version so i would be able to root it. But guess what? My recovery is only the android with exclamation mark and there's no option to flash the update.zip (the ext2 trick). No luck.
Then i tried the LG Flash Tool. When it starts, the phone first reboot at about 9% i think to get into download mode, but it simply reboot. Tryied it with DIAG/EMERGENCY/CS_EMERGENCY. No luck.
The Vol + and plug USB also does not work.
Please, if anyone has succeed on this matter, PLEASE SHARE!!
Thanks

hey, check this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/general/desbloquear-bootloader-e-modo-donwload-t3009229 , maybe this will help you out.
I have the same trouble. This motherf*cker phone won't boot into download or emergency mode because it has its bootloader locked. I hate LG! Do you know any solution for this? I have my brain burned
From my experience, towelroot always dissapointed me.
Just download Kingo Root APK to your phone, activate your mobile data and have fun.
If it fails, just click root again and it`ll work for sure.
As an alternative you can try Kingo Root for PC/APK or iRoot for PC/APK(former vRoot)
The sad part is that D625 uses a Tegra Chipset by nVidia and untill now, there is no confirmation of D625 unlocked bootloader.

See the instructions (author has since updated) at
http://click.xda-developers.com/api...Touch Pop S3</b> 5050 | Every Android version
and the second page comments for recovery hints. TWRP requires some study and preparation before use so it's not good to be stuck when attempting recovery.
Note the comment on the 3rd page about the updated recovery image that lets you see what you are doing on the screen. For me I got it working, working in the dark (ie. not seeing anything on screen), so it's too early for a video tutorial.
Please Help me :/

Rooting using Kingo Root
Rooting nowadays is very simple.
But the easiest way to do it is the following:
1. Download Kingo Root for Windows, Mac or Linux;
2. Install Kingo Root;
3. Open the program;
4. Connect your phone to your pc through USB cable and wait for Kingo Root recognize it;
5. If your phone is rootable it will appear a button saying "ROOT", click there (If your device is not rootable then you are out of luck and you must try another method)
6. Don't remove your phone and don't click anywhere, wait until the rooting process is finished;
7. After this your phone should reboot, it means you are now rooted (If your phone did'nt rebooted, manually reboot it then);
8. Enjoy!
Note: Rooting will void the device's warranty, root at your own risk.
Download the phone's drivers if needed and disable Windows, Mac or Linux firewall if needed.
Hope it works for you!

[Solved] Root Acer Iconia One 10 B3-A10

Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Free mobile app
Has anyone come across a rooting method that works on the Acer B3-A10.

Duncan
I have not had any luck finding a way to root my B3-A10. I have tried multiple root apps including those that require a computer.
In development options, there is an option to unlock bootloader. Anyone tied root with that? I don't have PC so am going to try some root apps with bootloader unlocked.
I have tried multiple root apps with and without a computer. No luck. I tried the [UNIVERSAL GUIDE] Root Any Android Device Manually ! from XDA. No luck.
I installed a new hard drive and loaded Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I had to learn the basics of Linux so that took some time. Sudo Nautilus and Sudo MC do not allow me to change permissions on the tablet. I had to connect the tablet with SFTP to get access to all the folders. I installed Debian NoRoot on the tablet but it couldn't change permissions. The tablet has SELinux and its permissions can not be changed. ADB states I can't have root options on a production device.
I can not find a boot image named boot.img or a recovery image named recovery.img on the tablet. Any suggestions as what I should try next?

I have already tried that with numerous one click apps with no luck. Haven't tried using computer yet, if anyone has any success please let us know.
I had my bootloader unlocked while trying all the various root apps. No luck.
Is there a way to edit system files (specifically /system/build.prop for enabling multi-user)?
Anyone manage to root this device yet?

Hi everybody.
I bought a Iconia One 10 B3-A20B to start developing but it is merely impossible without root access.
Bad luck: at the moment everything failed.
I tried to boot into bootloader with adb reboot bootloader. Before this step I erased my google user account on the android device and the pin security access (since I had the information from the internet that Lollipop 5.1 is preventing bootloader mode if one or both of these things are active). Also I enabled 2 more options in developers mode: USB-Debugging and the option enable unblock bootloader.
BUT: it happened not to work.
adb itself is working properly (on linux in my case). It shows me the device, I made a backup and both worked. As soon as I enter the command adb reboot bootloader the device switches of, shows a screen with a battery symbol loading (because it is connected to usb) but nothing more. Also no reaction of fastboot devices (nothing).
I managed also to find out to reboot in recovery mode by pressing the power button and volume up button for about 5 secondes. Also here appears a menu point saying reboot in bootloader, but also this is not working.
To reboot in a full check mode press the power button and the volume down for more than 5 seconds. A check is now starting with guess chinese letters on screen (with no guarantee that this ends good, so leave it).
Has anybody experience with Lollipop 5.1 and/or B3-A20 and to circumvent this barrier to boot in bootloader?
I rooted my Acer B3-A10 tablet with the latest King Root. I purchased then installed SuperSU Pro and successfully updated the binaries. I wanted to use Chainfire's product and support his efforts. I follow him on XDA. After the SuperSU installation my tablet will not boot. I can get into its recovery mode and into fastboot. ADB does not work in the recovery mode. I have a backup.ab file but can not install it without ADB access. I can not find a factory recovery image to flash. Any suggestions?
I took out my SD card then selected update from external source. Several strange folders were displayed including one that was labelled Do Not Panic. None of them were functional. I still have not determined what I can do next? I loaded the source code for my tablet into Android Studio and created a functional emulated device but I can't transfer it to the tablet.
Finally got it rooted. Used Kingroot on computer, it took 2 attempts. After rooting ran supersu me pro to get rid of kinguser and install super su.
Has anyone else had success with Kingroot? Looking to buy a couple of these, but don't want to risk not being able to root them...

How to unlock Alcatel Ideal 4060A Bootloader?

Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum and my name is Jessy, and it's my pleasure to be here!
I recently bought this AT&T GoPhone (for around $29) at Walmart, and I was following this guide to allow me to use my SD Card as an internal memory storage unit for my phone, but I found out that I need to unlock the Bootloader, install TWRP, SuperSU and Link2SD apps to the SD card and my phone. Since this smart phone is similar to the Idol 3, could I use this method to unlock the Bootloader for my phone or do I have to try a different approach?
I appreciate your time and I look forward to contribute further to these forums! Thanks again!
-Jessy
I picked one up on Black Friday, and decided to root it. I was only able to install an older version of SuperSU though (v2.46). First I had to install the PC version of KingRoot (It's in Chinese I believe, but middle button is always "next" or "yes"), root the phone, and then replace KingRoot with SuperSU. Took me a few tries.
This is the guide I used from the forum:
SuperSU Me_6.4.apk
KingRootSetup v3.2.0.1129.exe
1. install kingrootsetup on pc(must have internet connection to work)
2. connect ur phone with ADB enabled from developers option
3. root ur phone by following on screen instructions...
4. after rooting, install supersume on phone
5.open the app, click on big blue button and wait...
done,replaced kingroot with supersu..

My Alcatel Ideal 4060A froze a few times during the removal of KingRoot, but all I did was: turn off the phone, remove the battery, and finish the procedure once the phone was on. The phone was only $10 on Black Friday, so you could say it was only an experiment on my part. Unless it's a really good phone, where you can go to the manufacture's website and download the original firmware and install it through your PC, there's not much you can do to unbrick a cheap phone that is practically unknown.

Thank you Mario for your help! I'm having a little trouble having my phone being recognized by Kingroot, although I have ADB enabled from the developers option, it seems not to pickup my phone still. I'm still trying though and I'll let you know if I get it to work properly, and perhaps document my mistake so others following this post who happen to have the same problem could know what to do.

*UPDATE*
Just wanted to update that I found out what was my mistake, which is a really simple and basic mistake, I apologize!
What I did was that after I had enabled ADB through my phone, it was already connected to my PC right after I had downloaded Kingroot, so my solution here was simple. I turned off my phone first, then I turned it back on while still connected with Kingroot still running then Kingroot finally read my phone and it rooted it as you outlined. Thanks again for your help, it is too valuable for me!
Here's the guide that I'm following so that I could install more apps to the phone through my 64 GB SD card if you guys were interested, to make the phone more useful, and I also installed my obama phone SIM card on it as well (from lifeline wireless, because hey why not? )

No problem. I'm glad you got the phone rooted. I originally picked up the phone to use as an MP3 player, so I removed most of the unnecessary stock apps with "System app remover (ROOT)", but now that I see how good the phone is (at that price), I plan to use it as a backup phone. It even has a notification LED light for unopened messages LOL; anyway, good luck.
My Alcatel bricked too using this method stuck at boot logo and does nothing... Any fix?
Thanks for writing rooting method for Alcatel 4060a Ideal Pop445. Need some help

I've been an iPhone user for many years, I'm almost new to android. I have unlocked the bootloader from the hidden developers options in the settings app. I haven't found any thing useful to root my new Alcatel Ideal 4060a (Pop 445) (at&t unlocked). There are tons of bloatwares and many apps that I can't transfer to sd card. I hope you two can help me out here as I don't want to brick my device.
Question 1: Do jessy did something wrong(regarding your given steps to root) that makes her device rooted OR she has just been lucky? Because someone just posted that he/she has bricked his/her device.
Should I go ahead and try my luck with your method you there would be some advice you would like to give?
Question 2: If I would be able to root this device, would I be able to install Android 6.0 Marshmellow?

I have rooted with Kingroot 5; latest windows version on their website. Now I'm working on replacing it with Supersu or Supersu-me.
I think there always be some solution as far as you are seeing something on your phone's screen.
Just a note from another user with an Alcatel Ideal 4060a... (got for $10 from Best Buy on Black Friday)
Don't try using King-O-Root, then proceed to install Super SU from Google Play. It works that first launch, but on rebooting...
It's permanently bricked. And yes, I tried everything, including adb, recovery (doesn't have an option to flash a rom), from-pc flashing (wouldn't connect/wasn't recognized by adb or the other tools), fastboot (wouldn't launch), etc.
I don't know about the alternate Kingroot app, though. That probably works as some people have said it does for this model.
I was stupid and assumed King-O-Root would work as well, since it seems pretty generic and worked for another phone. I've learned my lesson and will now only follow guides for the specific phone model I have.
Why am I even writing this if it's a different rooting app? Cause I spent 6 hours just to end up killing one of my phones, and this is my best attempt at feeling like there was some worth to the waste. (the chance of preventing someone else the misfortunate, and just ranting)
Anyway, I'm going to bed. (So annoying because I only barely was brash enough to go ahead without a phone-specific guide--was on the fence, but landed on the unfortunate side) Argh! Argh! Argh!

Any solution for this? I want to replace King-O-Root with Super SU.
None that I know of.
I have another Android phone that I was also trying to get root on, and that one gets it temporarily using King-O-Root as well, but I'm too paranoid to try to make it permanent on that second one. Losing both my Android phones would be too painful.
If anything, I guess try the KingRoot program, from the pc, and then use the "SuperSU Me" app, as the person on the first page of this thread described. That way worked for at least one person apparently. (though the poster just after said it bricked theirs, so beware)
By the way, is your root from King-O-Root temporary (till restart) or permanent? I installed Super SU during the same launch I used King-O-Root, so I never got to see whether King-O-Root itself would have worked as a permanent (though non-ideal) solution. (I know that on my other Android phone it's temporary)
King-O-Root = Bricked Phone
KingRoot5 = Root Successful + it is possible to replace with SuperSU

I was able to pull the recovery from this phone. Can someone make TWRP for this device using the stock recovery?
Here is the actual recovery image file that I pulled:

Did you manage to unlock the bootloader? If not then you cant flash anything and building twrp would be useless.

I pulled the boot file. Could someone maybe look at that? I cannot boot to the bootloader.
I could try to flash_image twrp to the recovery and try that.
I got this phone on black friday, shortly after I got root with kingroot 5 pc and it was all great, however I got greedy and replaced kingoroot with supersu :silly:. First reboot and it goes into boot loop. Now its been sitting in a drawer. I think that purify deleted some app it looks at boot.
It looks like the simplest way to get a restore is 'IF' TCL/Alcatel does an update, someone intercepts the signed zip file, then that zip file could be distributed and used with the stock restore.
Hopeful everyone here can work a better solution... thanks for all your hard work everyone.

i have the same problem here, alcatel a5 led max (5085N - with android 6.0)
i didnt find any rom for this device, if someone could help us here! please
not sure if this is legit or not. https://romprovider.com/2018/06/root-twrp-alcatel-a5-max-led-5085n/ If not, send me a pm and we can try 2 more ideas I have. I have an Alcatel 5041C I was able to get twrp ported for. MT6739 SOC.
I downloaded this and it's legit: https://www.gizrom.com/alcatel-a5-led-stock-firmware/
If your phone works with this and there isn't already TWRP for your device, I can help you out with a ported TWRP and Root.

You should be able to update to the newest software using SUGAR MTK_SP_Gotu2.

Hiya, I have exactly the same problem. I want to root the device but I haven't been able to complete the first step, unlock bootloader. For the record I also tried KingRoot and KingoRoot to no avail.
I've tried power off with usb cable attached to pc (once charging the Device Manager recognizes as MTP USB device under mobile devices, no fastboot or ADB access); volume up+power (gets to recovery), volume down+power (restarts, no fastboot), volume up+down+power (restarts, no fastboot).
Therefore to be able to unlock the bootloader I need to access fastboot, but there seems to be no way to enter that mode.
I'm in the process of downloading firmware from https://www.gizrom.com/alcatel-a5-led-stock-firmware/ which should obviously help me if I manage to fubar the phone.
But now what? Any suggestions?
EDIT 2019_0326
Read in a post that the encryption keys would e erased when unlocking the bootloader. Since I have the external SD card mapped as internal storage (system setting available from 6.0) maybe that is what is keeping me from entering the fastboot?
The xploit i have works on this model. It grants temp root from a shell. The bootloader may or not be unlocked, depends on if any updates were ever released, etc.... My idol 4 was unlocked from the factory so i got lucky there. Once you have temp root, you may be able to push perm root, depends on how tight the phone is locked down. Ill pm you the file with commands and you can test from that point

Estou com os mesmos problemas, o celular não entra em fastboot por nada!
