Speakers not working on Pollux - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The status bar notification shows that I've connected earphones even though it's not connected. So there's no sound from speakers. The notification and alarm work fine but when I play YouTube or any mp3 song, the speakers don't work. Please help

Using CM14.1 as of now. But the problem remains even in stock ROM and cm13.

this happens when there is a short circuit or loose contact in 3.5mm jack. Also can be caused by water damage or dirt.

[Kate Special Edition] Problem with headphones.

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Redmi note 3 pro Special Edition Kate. When i insert the jack in the hole of my phone, many times the phone reveals the headphone only for few seconds, next the icon in the status bar disappear and the audio comes out the speaker. I have this problem only with headphones without microphone. The problem does not occur if i use headphones with microphone incorporate.
I want change the earpiece jack , but i can't find the replacement for Kate version, does anyone know if it is compatible the earpiece of Kenzo? Thanks.
Hey, my kate‘s got the same problem. I don't think it's a hardware issue. Check out the app SoundAbout. You can force the phone to put out the sound over the 3,5 Jack by setting Media audio to wired headphone. Hope that saves you eine trouble.

Wow you're right, thanks! I just tried your suggestion. So it is a software bug?

If ur on miui it happens with "without mic earphones" if ur in custom rom normal earphone detects, but with mic one doesn't detect but works... its a software issue....

Speaker doesn't play any media sounds

As I said in the title, the speaker has stopped playing any media sounds from the phone, ie YouTube or music player. It happened all of a sudden. I was on globerom and then I wiped everything and flashed xenon HD, but it didn't fix the problem. The speaker does play alarms and ringtones, so the speaker isn't broken. Also the phone plays the media sounds through headphone jack. Has anybody else had this problem and have you managed to solve it?

That's a weird headphone jack issue if I recall right. All you have to do is to put your headphones again n again and remove it, until it get fixed. Or the better way is to turn on headphone icon on status bar if your ever have that option, then do what I said, you'll see the icon on status bar, keep insert it and remove it until the icon get removed off status bar.

Just had this for the 2nd time. First time it "healed" itself without me knowing why and how.
This time I followed your suggestion and got it solved.
I am facing the same issue now with Lineage OS. Please let me know resolution on the same problem.

I love you. I was going crazy with the problem and this did the work. Unbelievable the amount of **** that can come out of the jack port. I cleaned with a pin and after a reboot the problem was solved. Thank you very much.

I found connecting and disconnecting to Bluetooth headset is much more easier way to solve this problem.
It worked for me after several failed attempts of plugging in and out earphones from the headphone jack.

This Works in My xiaomi Mi mix 2s with the same issue (using the usb C audiojack adapter)
Speaker don't play media sounds
This started when I kept my mobile connected to headphones under my pillow and slept
This might have caused some issue with headphones port
So I tried to connect and disconnect the headphones multiple times till I could get it fix.
I'm past the 'plugging in&out'. Now i am in headphone mode permanently...
Only thing that works now is the app audio router. Does its job perfectly

Edit : Nvm, gotcha
Same issue, but in my case its not headphone jack issue, flashed pixel experience android p rom and i faced this issue, any suggestions
Redmi note 4 Speaker doesn't play any media sounds
Try this
- Connect your wired earphone.
- Now play any video
- Don't pause the video and remove the earphone pin from phone.
- Video should pause and now try to use phone speaker .

Well then it should be something related with the settings.
Go to Settings>Additional Settings>Headphones and Audio> and try to fiddle around with that.
Might solve your issue. Good luck.

I did some intense testing over these days and found no such issues.
Maybe some other app is causing this issue.
Are you rooted?
Are you using any third party apps which fiddles with system volume?
Check for apps which has the permission to modify system settings.
Or if your friend also is having the same problem then check for the common apps you both have and narrow it down.

Then it should be Hardware problem, try hitting back of speak, something it works, if not you need to replace the speaker.
I think it's a software issue because games won't start they crash after the splash screen and the mic crashes Google Assistant and sound recorder

Try flashing other custom ROM. Maybe it will solve your problem.
No you Don't get it it's on EVERY custom rom above 6.0.1 also I tried what you said it didn't work
(Crdroid 5.1 was the one that caused the prob btw)
Had this issue on my e 2015,I downloaded one of those speaker tester apps, and once I got to a high enough MHz sound, the speaker started working
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blackflame.internalspeakertester

Low audio from the bottom speaker.

Recently, I noticed that the bottom speakers have been going low. Where previously I could watch a YouTube video with just 80% volume clearly but now with even 100% I don't get a better output. It's good and no muffling but the volume is low. Even with notifications alarms ringtones. Has anyone faced similar issues. Bdw i am on miui global 11.0.5 and my phone's a year and 4months old.
Anyone??
